Time to steal one of the spare lens caps from the cameras at work to make a pinhole!

But yeah nice work as always, tait. I'm so busy lately I just don't seem to have the urge to take any pictures of anything...

Body cap mog, pinhole cameras dont have lenses just a very small precisely centered perfectly round hole in a sheet of foil or metal!

thanks sir. i've noticed you haven't been posting much. i know a lot of people that are in a slump; me being one of them. i think a few months of winter can do that to you.

Diego did here
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2915077&postcount=3210

I noticed that too, but I looked at the flickr profile and there's no credit to Diego at all, unless that is his flickr account.

I never said I took the shot. I thought it was quite obvious I didn't when exigeracer posted this

I did mention I tried the HDR filter, but I didn't mean it was on that specific shot... although reading my post now it would seem I did. Sorry if it caused any confusion.

I have applied a bunch of HDR to many pics of mine, though, so it's not like I have no idea what I'm on about.

Ahh allright, I guess I was under the impression you did; not because of anything from your end but more so just me remembering/trying to remember things.

Oh, I just assumed that any pics people posted here were of their own work. I kinda thought that was what this thread was for.

To be honest I never ventured in here before. I'm a graphic designer, so I also do a lot of photo retouching because of my work, so I'm constantly looking for new stuff and hadn't really given HDR much thought, until I saw it on abduzeedo.com (which is a design website/blog). Since the picture was so awesome, I thought I'd post it here.

Oh well, matter cleared. No harm done.

nice to see you on my350z too =)

Yeah, I'm on a few forums. I use to own a Z. I was also looking at an S2000, G35 coupe, Legacy 2.5GT before deciding to stay with a Miata. I joined a few other forums to do some research.

I had a 97 Miata and then decided and bought the Mazdaspeed MX5. I realized I prefer smaller, lighter RWD cars over larger, more powerful vehicles.

Here's a shot I took last summer of the Oregon Coast. The only digital edit was a crop.

This is just a snapshot, but I'd appreciate some debate on it... is this a good picture? Is it a bad one? What makes it interesting? Is it technically poor?

Snapped on a Sony DSC-W7 at 3Mpix, cropped and resized.

well I've sold my 28-135 IS, and 70-200 F4L and did a wedding this weekend. Got all my money together so tomorrow I order my long awaited baby 70-200 F2.8L IS =D Can't wait!

Venari One thing that is a bit distracting is the pole sticking out of the middle of the hood. Also if you crop your photos try using the rule of thirds, it generally gives a pleasing effect. Also I'd shoot against a less cluttered background, all the asphalt, grass, trees, sky etc is taking away from the car (orange and green :yuck: ) and there appears to be some blurriness in the trees. Also shooting early morning or at sunset or on a overcast day helps smooth out the light and enrich the colors, anything but direct sunlight.

Hope these tips help :)

Now trying to sell my crappy 18-55 kit lens and already splashed out on a 17-85mm IS USM for a great price (£168 inc postage) cant wait XD

It's a good snapshot, but it's not particularly interesting. To be honest, it's the sort of shot I'd expect to see accompanying an ad in Auto Trader. It's got good levels though, good blacks and the highlights aren't blown, so it's well-metered. Consider a more interesting angle between you and the car, and vary the shot height relative to the ground, and you'll find a combination that jumps out at you. I would have gone for a from-the-rear shot over the top of the car showing the road in front, for example.

Congrats. It's an awesome lens.

Hiya Mark, nice to see you in this thread!
To add to GG's comments. Avoid foreign objects 'growing' out of your subject. This is even more important if you're snapping people!

AMG.

Haha, are you serious Pako? :D

It's an effect that makes the subject look like a model due to an extremely shallow DOF. There are actual tilt-shift lenses available, but they are very, very expensive. The above image was done using Photoshop.

Edit, here's some more.

Hahaha, those shots are weird CD, they look so much like model sets. Cool though. 👍

Also nice shot Holden, which actually is a model. Unless you are using some fancy photograph trick too. :D

I have to agree, those photo's look like little model sets found in a museum or something. Utterly awesome photos 👍
