The Platinum Club

Karts are cheaper.

No biggy. Have enough credits on account and Bob's are holding to alot more.

Plus it is quicker to get into the Daihatsu's door. 15k credits is worth not going all the way to Gran Turismo's lot.

Then the clean up :ouch: 10 per day should not take too much time :P

Anyone else who got all three gold with a controller (ds3)? If so then I know it wont be impossible but damn hard and tough.

I did it with a DS3 no cheating twice (my hard drive killed itself), Suzuka was the hardest but at least doing it first makes the other two feel easy. I beat the gold medal time by 0.000s but it gave it to me so I'm happy.

The first time I passed I was using an automatic gearbox which probably made it harder for me.

just buy every car from the UCD that you dont own. I did this and before u know it you have over 1000 different cars and you can play with a new one every day if youre bored ;)

:) great idea, but I got another account that I am taking slowly. Plus I just finish deleting all the bought Daihatsu's :ouch:. Think I am going to save this account for Remote Races + Seasonal Time Trials> Donate all the ripped cars to a true worthy collector.

Next account, planning to get all the standard road going cars via 0/0/0 + 1 additional road car each. The additional ones I get to drive and beat on ;). Going to take some time, but already level A=36, B=0 (Bob has 6,200,000 = Plan to cash out at 25mil) for now.

COME ON!!! 3mm (quite literaly on the career bar!) away from getting the AOE trophy - the last one needed before the big one!. The pain, the pain...I truely forgot the pain of grinding.

My wife & kids have ordered a straight jacket and have stopped talking to me...they're huddled in the corner....:scared:

Familiar feeling, i'm almost in the same situation.

Now as I got about 1050+ cars theres so much more fun visiting the UCD for new cars that I may not have gotten yet.. about 99% of the time all cars in the UCD are checked out as I got them. Still keeping an eye up for the chapparal 2j

 for sure I agree with you. Just my preference is a 0/0/0 car. Had alot of fun with Volkswagen...favorite was the Golf IV R32 '03 followed up by the Lupo GTI '01. Both were alot of fun.

Now up to Vauxhall and just finished with the Tigra. Up there with the Lupo 1.4 in handling....but the rear view mirror does not work :ouch:

VX220 is a totally different car...should be fun.

I have a question about the AOE trophy.

I've been grinding my main guy, his bar has been filled for a while. I grinded from 460 races to 520 races completed this last week and still no trophy?

What am I missing? Remote races counted in possibly?

Remote races don't count toward the career bar progress and AOE trophy. The best race was Sunday Cup Tsukuba in the X2010 I found.

But my dude is at 530 races and bar filled. Still no trophy? Just keep doing Tsukuba? (Which I've been doing)

Edit: Now I see the experience bar! I was lookin at level 40 bar. My fault! Thanks

Job done! At last! Before starting the AOE grind, I couldn't work out how I hadn't got the Gold in all events trophy - I had just completed all the licence tests...then I discovered 2 Jeff Gordon Nascar events were bronze & silver - the "join the race from the pits" and the "last 2 laps of Indy" events. That was back in the day when bronze was enough to progress as my driving was terrible!! They were surprisingly straightforward to gold - I guess things have improved over the last 2 years!!!!

I do think that the performance difference seasonals have really improved my driving - carrying max speed through the apex and braking efficiently are key for me. Also I'm a DS3 User.

@mcfizzle - I did what you did with the X2010 at both Tskuba and Autumn ring for variety! My Bobs did a total of 616 races. None were online remote racing but a small amount was the 2j Sarthe seasonal grinding for cash and the other Bspec seasonals. What was funny was watching my other L40 Bobs' performance bars go down even though they weren't racing!

@NjLowrider - come on, nearly there!!! Keep on grinding:tup:

Got the Platinum trophy at 12.16am this morning... after a solid 6 hours of grinding B Spec Tsukuba in the X1 to get the Air of Experience trophy (the most mind numbing experience I can remember in GT5).

Will post a pic sometime over the weekend.

Just the final 3 enduro's to do to get 100% completion now.

I'm now officially a member of the club :). I have to say that after buying 900 cars I gave up and blocked the keyboard so that it would buy 100 NSXs, but other than that, it's a legitimate platinum trophy. No hacking or glitching Vettel challenges involved. Feels great to have it.

Oh, and according to psnprofiles.com, it took me only 1 month and 2 weeks to get it.

quick question, does any one know how many people have achieved this trophy? thanks. I'm close, I just need my b spec dude to do 400 more races, and upload a stupid song and listen to it while driving. I need to get those hidden trophies too.

I think it's around 3,000. It's less than 1% of all GT5 gamers.
