I got it yesterday when I finally earned the Dream Drifter Trophy after two days and about 6 hours of practice. I could not get the 10,000 points at Tsukuba, but I learned enough while practicing there to get them without too much trouble at the Chamonix Main track using the arcade Ford Focus Rally car. I never did care for drifting so I had never tried it until 'forced' to do so. I still don't care for it, however. 
Of course, I did not do either of the 24 hour endurance races, or the 9 hour endurance race in A-Spec, so my game completion is only 97%. I will not attempt to do these races unless they incorporate a 'save' feature in the future.

Which trophies do you have to get to get platinum?? I'm nearly there....

All of them I believe, and if I'm not mistaken you will need golds in all A/B spec events, licenses, and special events, including Vettel. I will never get there, as I can only silver the Vettels, got 2 golds left to get on licences, and do not intend on cluttering up my garage with 1000+ cars. I will also not be considering the 24 hour events until mid race saves are introduced.

I think you misunderstood me. I was asking that guy what trophies he needs to platinum the game. I already know you have to get every trophy. BTW how much trophies have you got in GT5? How much %?

I think golding every event and race will be the one stopping me. I can't imagine golding the FGT championship or the X1 special event.

I doubt I'll ever get platinum for this game. I'll try to get whatever I can but for the ones out of reach I can't really be bothered to even put some decent effort in them.

8 licenses, the Vettel challenges, NASCAR specials and the tour. These will get me the 'all golds' medal and that will unlock the platinum. I'm on 91% right now, the most recent was the car collector, which required a heck of a lot of grinding and checking the ucd.
