The Platinum Club

I've golded everything except the 24hr endurance races. I'm not doing these until there is a gm save feature. I'm not leaving my machine on for a week straight to finish it

I did it in 3 days... each day about 7-8h gameplay... then parked it and collected the prizes... with X1 ofcourse.....

Same here. Did the 24 LeMans with my best pall in one row...and...never again...

Again, it says nowhere in the trophies, that you have to complete or gold every b-spec race.

Yep it does thats what the gold standard trophy is for as the guy above me pointed out.

Platinum club member since May 2, 2011. I guess the PSN being down helped... otherwise I wouldn't have had the time to gold everything and push for A-Spec level 40 at the same time.

It is one of my proudest plats (just because I love cars and I worked so hard for it)

SuperShouden should put a list of all the Platinum awardees in the original post, so we can easily see how many people have made it thus far. I am personally a long way from the platinum club :(. Congrats, krsht3.

I believe you can see the platinum club on ps3trophies.com

I Think i'm on 89% and i would say 1st: doing the official GT-R record in the nissan.
2nd: bringing together 1000 cars (took forever) :P

Blimey, so you're saying golding vettel was easier than the official gtr record? What am I doing wrong then?

Also, the 1000 cars isn't hard (IMHO), just mindblowingly tedious.

I finally went plat yesterday! This is also one of the platinums I am proud of owning (together with WipeOut's, StreetFighterIV's and NinjaGaidenSigma2's).

In any case, I have yet to do the 24h Nurbur (A-Spec) and I'm still missing some cars here and there (370z anyone?).

Can you explain "did it over three days" (pausing for 12+ hours at a time maybe?), and "parked it and collected prizes"? I have no idea what you mean here. Thx.

To all of you having problem with golding Vettel w/ a DS3, watch Tidgney's tutorial videos in the videos subforum if you haven't already. Helped me lots, I've golded Monza and is not very far from golding the other 2 as well.

I totally agree. If it weren't by these videos I would have never been able to gold the three of them.

I'm not going anywhere near the endurance races, let alone the B-Spec endurance races, so I will never have this.

Gotta love how balanced this game is. 100 3-lap races followed by 20 500-lap races. ;)

To get the Gold Standard trophy, you don't have to do all the races in A and B spec, just one or the other. I still haven't done the 24h Nurburgring in A-Spec but I got the Gold Standard trophy.

I got the Platinum trophy last friday. Thanks to the triple payout bonus, I was able to get the last 40 or so cars up to 1000 easily. I'm still having trouble finding the last three standards I don't have though. yeesh. Stupid ucd.

Yea Monza was easy. But Nürburgring & on the top Suzuka is a complete different league. :scared:

I think i need to get a wheel for the last both. X2010 + DS3 is uber madness. :ouch:

Doing it with the DS3 isn't bad now that you have the steering sensitivity update. Tidgney got all gold even without that which on Suzuka is especially amazing. Just crank the steering sensitivity up to 7 and it makes it manageable.

OP updated. 15 Club Members so far. Shortest time is 3 months. with an average of about 5 months.

According to yourgamercards.com:

.56% of players have gotten the trophy and the fastest time was 1 month, 5 days, 3 hours. Yeah..that's around a 500 hour platinum. Unless that's actual playing time, in which case that's a good 850 hours of gameplay. And probably an average of 1000 hours to complete. Making GT5 the longest platinum trophy for a racing game ever and putting it amongst the longest platinum trophies to get.

Which 3 cars are you still searching for?

Done!! Finally!! Played since release, took a whole week, to get from 39-40. This game deserves a platinum, though i am yet to finish it 100% , just two 24hr enduros to go.
