But one "problem" occured...you see, when I got platinum there wasn't any euphoria, it was more of a "finally done, **** yeah" and then GT5...kind of felt empty.
I solved the problem by signing up for WRS.
I had realised something what I already knew - trophies are worthless, platinum means nothing to me (well, apart from bragging rights here on GTP :lol:). It shall be my one and only platinum ever.

This is the first game I got platinum on and I got the same feeling as you of it being finally done. Maybe because I finished a 9hr endurance race to get it though. Still need to do the 24hr races to get 100% progress so it is not yet finally done but will wait for the endurance saves update.

I've got 10 platinums now, and as soon as I got the GT5 plat, boom, DFGT fried. I'm gonna get onto logitech about the warranty. The GT logo flashes and the wheel does nothing, no buttons work. I'm not playing GT now, gonna wait and see what happens with the wheel. (Playing COD:banghead:)
 
Obtained Platinum on August 14. 2011.
Used the DS3 throughout and hardly any aids apart from ABS and the occasional TCS.... and no glitches.
Left the Vettel-challenge to last which proved to be a bit of a mistake due to the large amount of XP-points you earn.
Currently I´m at 1039 cars (7 doubles), 77.160 miles (124.151 km).

Apart from bragging rights I´m also left with a "now what" kind of a feeling, just like 599GT.

Finally finished the Vettel challenge, as Nurburg was silver for a long time now, I dusted of my DFGT and after 4 hours, 2.07.8xx appeared on my screen...

Just need to get to Lvl 40 now, lvl 38 now.. Give me my in-race saves!!

Same here. I'm mid way through 38 and I will have it. I plan to run ferrari la sarthe and 4 hours of Nürburgring until I get to 40. On release day I looked at the trophy list and thought 'I can never get that'. A week or two and it will be my 11th platinum and the one I'm most proud. Embarrassing, I know.

I have about 10 million left and each Nürburgring 4hrs is about 2 million, so yeah, I can do that easily by the end of this week if I feel like it. WRS will get in the way of some of that time though. That's the good thing about only having the level 40 trophy left, it's just a matter of time, not frustrating like trying to gold Vettel right at the end.
 
I think I let at least 15mil xp go to waste.

...xp from all that went to waste [since I got level 40 before that (Lightweight K seasona)].
 


Finally did it, now I just have to finish the 24hr endurances of A-spec, I'm waiting for the save feature to do this.
 
I got platinum today! Just finished my fourth Nürburgring 4 hours since the weekend to achieve it. Back in November I thought I would never get this one. Just Merecedes AMG academy seemed impossible, let alone the Vettel Challenge. Keep pushing everyone going for it.

Just finally got the platinum trophy. After golding the Vettel challenges and the Eiger Grand Tour event for the gold standard trophy, I just had to reach L40. I was also closing in on 1,000 wins, so I timed it so that my 1,000th win would get me to L40 and earn the platinum trophy. I also did it in the Audi R8 5.2 FSI (my favorite road car) on Nurburgring in the real circuit seasonal, which was a fun challenge in itself.

I finally got the Platinum for GT5 last night. This was a tough one.
So much grinding I felt it became a chore more than a game.
Props to all who have achieved the trophy.
 
Finally got Platinum today :) Reaching Level 40 was the last trophy and thanks to the 2x bonus, 4-hour Nurburgring got me there :D
 
I got my Platinum today after my Bob finished 24h of Nurburgring. Got Endurance trophy, Gold Standard and Platinum all together. Now I only lack doing the 9h Tsukuba and both 24h in A-Spec to complete the game. But that will take a while.

So you don't need to complete the 24h races to get platinum?

Just exactly what do you need? I'm guessing you have to gold the special events, but after the above bombshell, I don't know what to think.
 
I won't get this trophy ever. I can't even get silver in the X1 challenge (DS3) and that will be the only thing preventing me from getting the trophy :(

You might need a steering wheel. I just need the X2010 and 1 AMG. Working on
the AMG right now and then X2010. The X2010 seems doable on Nurb and Monza with some practice. Suzuka looks tough.
