So you don't need to complete the 24h races to get platinum?

Just exactly what do you need? I'm guessing you have to gold the special events, but after the above bombshell, I don't know what to think.

You need all races, all licences and all special events in Gold - but the race events can be either in A-spec or B-spec.
I have Platinum and I don't have Tsukuba 9h, 24h Le Mans and 24h Nurburgring.

I won't get this trophy ever. I can't even get silver in the X1 challenge (DS3) and that will be the only thing preventing me from getting the trophy :(

Dont give up.
I golded my Vettel using sixaxis (didn't have wheel back then), I never thought I'd be able to do that - but I did manage to do it.

Just don't give up.

Finally made it. After a breaking PS3 back in May (backup was a few months old) that got repaired by Sony, then that one croaked about a month ago (luckily full backup this time). Got a new slim model and got the trophy this morning. To get 100% I still have just the 9hr endurance race but will get that in the next following weeks. I dont get much play time so kind of a relief to me that I can start playing online which I probably havent done in 6 month or more and start getting into tuning a lot more. Actually only have about 900 cars now (had 1000 when first ps3 failed) so have that to accomplish again but got it once so i counts at least

There should be a Platinum race suit and helmet so we can show off the achievement!!! Im so proud and so few people understand it and know about it lol!
 
Nah... too much waste of a time. Games are made for relaxing and enjoying a good time, not to add more stress to the regular everyday life. You guys are going to get older quicker...

I think I'll go for a cruise drive at the nurburgring in my samba Bus ;)

I don't understand how its a waste of time? I love racing, and motorsport of any kind. And being on the limit of some of these licenses, and events was so much fun, stressful, not at all. Trying to be consistent and try to beat your record, that's what i live for.

And A-spec level 40 came naturally, by playing the game alot.

For some it's not a waste of time, I admit. And I didn't want to sound harsh. I just like to enjoy my game in a different way. The days when I was competitive, and I wanted to show everyone else my achievements are way passed me now. I just like to enjoy my gaming life in a different way nowdays :)

But I have to give you credit for the effort it takes to platinum this game. Not many will have the skill and patience to do it. Congrats:tup:

I think you explained it better than I did. It's the boring factor. We all agree that B-Spec is boring. I've had the game since release, and play around four hours a day and I'm still at level 3 in B-spec.

For A-spec, I know that for some is a lot of fun to do all the races and complete them, for me, I really don't like grinding and doing long races, cause I get maybe not bored, but tired. I do enjoy the game a lot, and been enjoying it since GT1. And although I don't care about completing the game anymore, or golding everything like I used to do, even though I might be wrong, I still like to think that I enjoy the game at a higher level than most :)

Platinum. Sweet.

The last to fall - the execrable "Air of Experience." What a stupid trophy that one is. But we know by now that every GT game has to have something lengthy, irritating and utterly pointless...

But whatevs! Getting the GT5 platinum trophy with the DS3 = skillz.

LVL 40 A-spec and Air of Experience were last to complete, also I have no urge to do the longer Endurance races so i only have 97% of races complete, but as you only need them done in b-spec, still counts, lol!
