If it's a WipEout game, it has to be good. If you're going to get it, you should get the base game, online pass and an HD and Fury Campaign Expansion Pack (it's free for those who purchased WipEout HD Fury somewhere after June 2012). The best you can get is the digital version.
I am aware of the Fury expansion pack, but the online has kind of died a bit recently. Can't seem to find full games nowadays.

It also still works on the PS3...

2048's really fun to play, but there are a few problems with it. The frame rate's only 30FPS, so it's not as smooth as WipEout HD, and smooth gameplay is a necessity in a racing game as fast as WipEout. The sticks have less movement and the shoulder buttons are digital, so you can't be as precise when cornering. And my major gripe is that there's no racebox. At all. You can only play campaign levels, or speed laps once they're unlocked.

Hmm, sounds like a WipEout-lite rather than something as intricate as HD Fury. Best thing about HD Fury was just how precise you can be, that's what made it my favorite PS3 game(and sink about 600 hours to boot).

Okay, so I figure I'm gonna wait for the PSVita TV. Since there's no reason for me to get a PS4 anytime soon and I've moved the PS3 into the living room for the father to play RDR and PS-Home. That way I get to own a DS4 too. :D

@Classic Keep in mind that a lot of Vita games won't be compatible with the Vita TV, and WipEout is not one of them. Only specific Vita games, PS1 and PSP games will work on the Vita TV - it's essentially a PS4 Remote Play device.

Really? :( I thought they were all compatible...that sounds like a really pointless purchase.

Back to cheap Vita hunting. :scared:

I remember when I first found out about the PS Vita. I wanted a PSP and a GameStop employee told us about that there was going to be a new PSP with a touchscreen.

Too bad it's not selling well and not getting a lot of games. Then there was Ridge Racer and Black Ops: Declassified... Declassified was supposed to be the one that was the Vita seller but turned out to be a steaming pile of 🤬 with a 40 minute campaign and no zombies mode like Black Ops.

At least it has some decent games and is getting Minecraft and has PS4 remote play support.

What the PSVita really needs is a GT game, there's too much indie sh:censored:t on the PS Store. And the only GT game you can get is GT PSP, you can only get it by downloading it on a PS3 and copying it through Content Manager Assistant. What I'm talking about is GT Vita....

The problem is that developing AAA games for the Vita isn't economically viable and it'll almost certainly incur a loss, no matter how good the game is. Think about it from a dev's perspective. Why would you want to throw a ton of money into making a great Vita game that'll sell less than a million copies?

Also, I was able to download GTPSP from the SEN Store on the Vita. :D

So it's just been announced the new XPERIA Z3 can remote play PS4 games.

This news coupled with Vita TV could basically be the final nail in the coffin for the Vita. There is little else other than maybe the price to keep it going.

It's definitely not gonna be the final nail in the coffin. The Vita TV is Remote Play and compatible with few Vita games (it does play PS1 and PSP games though), and the XPERIA phones is only Remote Play.

I've actually been playing my Vita more than my PS3 and PS4, lately (I'm playing more Xbox One than all three, but I digress :P).

Niche JRPG's are why I got a Vita :sly:
I bought Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment the other week, and I like it a lot. Though, I really should watch the anime so I can get to know some of the characters...
Anyway I am hype for Tales of Hearts R. Gotta have my Tales

Anyone tired of niche, fanservice-driven Japanese games (mainly JRPGs) on Vita? :grumpy:

I don't own a Vita, but I have been reading GameFAQs about this subject.
Yeah there is a big lack of AAA Titles but I have a few decent games that get me through( WRC4, Borderlands 2, MVC3, Killzone mercenary Plus a PS Plus subscription). However 90% of the games out there don't appeal to me. I don't get into turn based RPG's or most indie games (there are a couple of gems though) and I sure as hell didn't buy a Vita to play PSP or PS1 Games. I'm waiting for some decent games on PS4 before I buy one, then I will make use of the remote play feature a lot. I think the latest smart phones have killed the Vita. They have a lot of free games and it is a lot harder now for Sony to compete in the portable gaming market. I think from what I last read Sony had only sold less that 10m Vita units worldwide. Compared to the PSP which sold somewhere above 90m+ units. So its hard for big company's to justify the production cost when there is only a small install base. I doubt any of the bigger vita games (listed above) have made a profit for their efforts. We need a couple of big games and that could swing thing around. However I don't know if even that alone will be enough to swing it out of the hole its in at the moment. The biggest games on PSP were GTA Series & Monster Hunter series, The producers of both those series have not even yet made a vita game and still may not.

I think the Vita may have had its day.

We shall behold Vita's savior, GT Vita! ;)

Will do. I would really like a GTA game or RDR from Rockstar, that would be epic. GT could be good too, if it had a decent career mode and tuning options. Maybe scale down the car count to say 200+ premium cars and possibly turn out some sort of free roam mode based on a real world city, much like, dare I say it, Forza Horizon 1/2 or Test Drive but better because its portable.

I play umvsc3 all the time on it. I also think Sly Cooper is cool on it. There are other cool games on it too I think, and from what I understand a whole bunch more is coming soon enough. I can understand if the Vita is somebodys main platform to game on though.

What else Vita has apart from "weeaboo magnet" stuff to be released? Minecraft? :grumpy:

I can't find the thread now. In another forum I read about lots of Vita games coming up. Many of them where Indie titles for sure but I thought it looked interesting.
