As we all know, GT5 WILL have the Top Gear Test Track. Now, a couple of years ago Joey D made a suggestion of a "GTPlanet star in a reasonably priced car" and the idea really appealed to me. Now, we don't know if we can replicate the event as we don't know if the Daewoo Lacetti is in there.

So what three cars would you suggest to be the "reasonably priced car"? For me personally it would have to be cars like:
1. Toyota Yaris
2. Nissan Micra
3. Mini Cooper

So fire away, tell us what you think the reasonably priced car should be.

Hey, great idea!

Reasonably priced car options in GT5 (based on the current car speculation list and GT PSP car list (as the cars are transferable, apparantly):

Suzuki Cappuccino
Mini Cooper
Diahatsu Copen, Sirion or Storia
Honda Civic or Fit
Mazda Demio or 2
Citroën C3
Fiat 500 (new one, it it's in)
Ford Ka or Taurus
Toyota Yaris

In keeping with the size of car, the following would make a good alternative:

Kia Cee'd

Stuff like the Mini, Suzuki Cappucino, Citroën C3, Fiat 500, Ford Ka, and the Toyota Yaris are too short.

It should be something common and readily available as your first car in GT5, so I recommend waiting for GT5 to see what normally pops up in the used car lots......assuming we have used car lots (we better :mischievous:).

Small and sporty...

Abarth Grande Punto - now that would be nice to see.....
Alfa Mito - Green Cloverleaf would be nice, but might stretch "reasonably priced"
Renault Clio - new model, pref Clio Cup
ETA - The Twingo that was on Top Gear last night!!!

Without getting into wish list territory, to me, these are the sort of cars that need to be included to make GT5 feel "current".

I felt quite envious when I saw pre-release Alfa Mito renders for FM3. GT PSP looks like "GT4 Mobile", with a few juicy extras to make it look up to date.

Neither the Mini Cooper nor the new Fiat 500 are "reasonably" priced in any way - they charge a premium because they're life-style accessories.

I would go for the Vauxhall Astra/Chevy Cobalt if the Lacetti wasn't included.

Zonda F :)

What do you mean they're not reasonably priced! A Billy bargin.

edit: A Mk5 Golf 1.6 would be a good entry level car. With only basic options.

Wow it's really been a couple of years? Time flies eh?

My suggestion? A Ford Focus.

Maybe a Dacia Sandero?

I think I'd pay extra for that.
in the 'top gear crap cars' DLC. which would no doubt also contain the suzuki liana, chevrolet lacetti, morris marina and g-wiz.

I'd hope there would be some performance involved. My picks would cover the different drivetrain and engine layouts.

Chevy Cobalt SS - FF
BMW Z4 - FR
Vauxhall VX220 Turbo - MR
Toyota Celica GT-Four RC '91 - 4WD

All are around 200hp but less than 250, and cars from different regions.

I've had the same idea. yes. go with the Mini, not fast, not costly. that would be a good one.also we should have Power laps. we just need someone to play as Stig.

The actual reasonably priced car (Cheverolet Lacetti) might just make it in.

Ford Fiesta
Did the car win car of the year award in Top Gear? So go with that?

I think it's funny how people think the MINI is a reasonably priced car when it's one of the most expensive in it's segment.

Oh as the release of GT5 gets closer I think a couple of us should figure out how to do the Forum Member in a Reasonably Priced Car.

From this forum we should take the top 10 most mentioned cars, later we should make a poll. But yeah we first need full GT5 car list to mention it.
