From this forum we should take the top 10 most mentioned cars, later we should make a poll. But yeah we first need full GT5 car list to mention it.

Yeah, but we will see this list only after the release date.

Also, I would like to see one car from each major car-manufacturing country, then we could have Mini from the UK, Fiat 500 from Italy, Golf from Germany, Focus from US, 207 from France and of course Honda Integra or Mazda 3 from JPN.

So, what is the average price for the The Reasonably Priced Car? 10-15 Thousand Credits? 16-18?

It's kind of pointless to just use any car, or all ou've got is the weekly WRS. If the car that's really used is in GT5 then srely that's the only one that should be considered if for o othewr reason than you can compare it to the real times as well.

Most of the cars mentioned so far fall way outside of what the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is.

To the people only putting one car in.....I DID request three. ;)

Dave A....the Yaris & Micra are both well in range. The Mini was something I threw in there because I couldn't think of anything else small and boxy at the time.

Hyundai Sonata.

I doubt it will be in GT5, but it fits the criteria that Top Gear use. Front wheel drive, 5 doors (not a hot hatch), fairly cheap compared to competitors like the Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Insignia/Vectra (Comparing with cars from the UK market as it is a UK based TV show).

Its also pretty crap :P

0-60 in 9.9 seconds. Slightly faster than the current one i think, this one is a 2 litre.

Yeah, I wasn't referring to anyone specific, certainly not to thoes two cars. But some of the cars mentioned just completely miss the point of SIARPC. They (TopGear) deliberately picked something cheap, practical and not particularly sporty when choosing the original car and the current car. An MX-5 that is not.

Totally agree with you Dave....someone said a TVR Speed 12 before and it just made me  with it's obvious stupidity. And MX-5, reasonably priced?? That seriously made me  because they obviously don't know or follow the SIARPC format. :)

Come on, think of things like Hyundai Getz's, Tata's and stuff like that guys, it's not that hard. Or am I giving GTP members too much credit on their IQ to think of these things logically??

i would say if the Lacetti makes it in then use that, if not then a Civic or Focus

💡 how about a Roomster?

also we should have Power laps. we just need someone to play as Stig.
how would it be decided and would whoever gets picked have to keep it a secret?

I see valid points on both sides of this thread. As a first car, you don't want to break the bank because in GT you have to earn credits to buy upgrades and better cars. I've always loved the notion of buying used cars in GT, but I would prefer if we did this at the dealerships where they ALWAYS had copies of all of their used models in every color. :) Hunting for used cars (especially in particular colors) was frustrating to say the least. Then, they could do some realism like forcing the user to spend a random amount of money to bring the car up to par. Or even have brand new cars break down every once in a while with an option to turn it off (sometimes you want the game to just be a game).

I do hope the real Top Gear lecetti is in GT5. They got the Top Gear track, why not have the Top Gear reasonably priced car.

If not then I vote for the 2007 Honda Civic LX coupe. (my real car)

And you've seen invisible points, because the point of this thread WAS NOT about hunting down used cars to do up, it's ONLY about selecting a car that would be good in a "Star In A Reasonably Priced Car" segment....that's it!!

Understanding Fail. Population = You.

I think i highlighted the criteria quite well here:

People keep picking hot hatches like Ford Focuses and Minis, or small cars. These cars need to be family cars with enough room in the boot for Top Gear dog (at least thats what they said in the earlier series')

Considering they've made the effort of recreating the top gear track , I would find it hard to believe they wouldnt include the Liana

seismica, totally agree with your opinion dude, and I saw it before. 👍 The post was directed to the "sheep" who repeat what others say or just go off on their own tangent. :)

However, I would've gone for an i30 these days (would've gone for Elantra in the past) but that's just me....I look at a Sonata as a Korean FWD Commodore. :sly:

My point was that we just don't know which cars are going to be in GT5, so naming this that and the other as suitable RPC's is a bit pointless at this stage until we know which cars we will definitely have to choose from.

With Top Gear tie-ins with episodes on GT-TV and the Top Gear test track reportedly in GT5, intelligent money would go on having a Liana or Lacetti in the game too.
