Im not sure if i want to be teammates if your gonna miss a lot of races. oo yea i thought we were only using premium for the series because 580pp on a premium gt500 really gives it a disadvantage. 605 pp is better because a stock nsx or sc430 cant keep up with the gtr only if i had a turbo and limit it to 500 hp,605pp, that im actually equal or even faster than a gtr. My fastest with the regs at 500hp,605pp at grand valley is a 1.46.3, if i lower my pp to 580 i do a 1.49 but the gtr at 580pp does a 1.48.100. that a second quicker and im pretty sure the standard cars willl be much faster because they have more hp with the 580pp limit a sc430 hp at 447. my locitite nsx thats standard has 480 hp and 574pp so it a pretty big difference.

Ill talk to you tomorrow

homes had set this up already and you can see he has put thought into it....now take it or leave it.

The cars are actually well matched.

According to http://gt5cars.net/cars:

The power to weight ratios are as follows (the best of each type):
GTR- 0.4355
NSX- 0.4227
Lexus- 0.4227

So the GT-R appears to have a very slight advantage....

BUT
-The NSX is mid engined, so it has a handling advantage to make up the difference and has more torque.
-The Lexus is in the middle right between the GT-R and the NSX

I want to keep the PP level down to a level where the cars don't become difficult for beginners to drive. I like the fact that the series is open to all skill levels. The higher the PP level, the more skill you need to keep the car on the road, and the more accident you get.

When we do our test session next week we can see how well they perform together.

Im just saying there is a difference in lap times with the way that i tested. Im fine with it, with tc at 1 and skid recovery on i had no problem handling the car through turns at a high pp level but I understand that some people may have some difficulty. Are those p/w ratios after lowering to 580pp or right out of the dealership?

Im a bit confused on this league. If this is a super gt league the hp should be 500. Plus the more pp that you have, the better the car is to handle because it has more downforce, so wouldn't you think it would be better for newer drivers. If you could just tell me a couple more reasons for the tight restrictions to help me understand it better, than I am willing to join.

Hi gtx518. Yes the more downforce the higher the PP, but assume that all cars are set at maximum downforce. Now, if you increase the power, the car becomes more difficult for a beginner to drive. Well actually if you increase it enough it becomes more difficult for anyone to drive. Have you tried driving a Redbull X2010? I'm hoping that we achieve a slight increase in PP from the 'Same Car Cup' and if you add in the fact that now drivers can adjust settings, the cars will be quite a bit faster, so everyone will have a little more concentrating to do. LOL:)

gtx has a point. you also have a point homes. I think if we would just leave the cars stock as we bought them and just limit pp as they r stock and limit the hp stock as well it makes sense we basically are just worrying about setups then. i think the highest pp is the gtr at 595 so its really only 15pp that is increased, but whatever you decide is fine I know that my setup and car is very very fast at grand valley so im not worried.:)

Ok but a beginner driver is not going to do well anyways. So if they practice, a high power car will be fine for them.

Since you allows all of the aids this should be a walk in the park for beginner drivers. Yes i have driven the x2010 and I really dont see how you can compare a 500hp car to a 1500hp car. I also read that same car sup you had earlier that calsonic gtr had a 495 hp with 592 pp. There is no difference with the hp risen to 500 and pp to 605 like lmracer24 said except a little more downforce.

What shall we do about the "game tying" to prevent he-who-you-all-know's domination at the series? I suggest a ballast penalty for every podium sitter for the following round - 50 for the winner, 35 for runner-up, 15 for third? It's hard to supervise, but honest drivers should be able to go with the rule.

gtx518 - Its a simple fact. the higher the PP the more difficult the car is to drive. All the downforce in the world cannot compensate for the fact that humans ability to hit exact breaking, turn-in, and acceleration points becomes less, the faster the car goes.

I understand but if you old league had no problems with 592 pp whats wrong with 600pp. I'm not going to annoy anyone anymore but I saw a cool league and wanted to join but seeing all of these weird regulations, you are just taking the fun out of super gt500 by lower pp to such a extent that the cars don't even have 450hp. Every super gt league that i see up has it at 500hp just like they should be. If people have such a big problem driving into, during, and exit on corners, don't you think that they should use the driving line?Sorry for making a big deal Ill just find a different gt league, Have fun with your league.!

I aree with GT.

If a person can't handle a car with higher PP he's not going to win regardless of whether the cars are slow or not if there are better drivers.

Downforce adds tremendous to the PP count, and that will slow the.car down, meaning less time needed for.braking, and it will grip on turns better. Your system is flawed.

And the large amount of assists you allow that only beginners should need to do good should make up for the handling problem you think.there will be.

Yo boys, I am definately in for this.

Oh forgot to add, I have not chosen a partner yet, so if anybody wants somebody from South Africa, I am available, but you have to take me out for dinner before we get to know each other better. LOL
Seriously, I have no issues about a specific partner, just want to race a bit.

Homes, have you considered this? I think we need to use this to even the field up. As a further suggestion, this penalty could be 'avoided' by skipping the next race, although it obviously means the driver would lose a lot of points compared to the other lads. The penalties also wouldn't "carry over" so a 50 ballast penalty would only be in action for 1 round, and if the driver in question finishes that in 4th place, then they could run without any ballast in the following round after that again.

Hey Will, no worries mates, I will acquire a Motul tonight. I have enough credits, so don't worry.

Regarding the PP, I am not trying to be unreasonable and I am open to the idea of increasing it if testing on thursday proves that people can still drive fair and handle the higher pace. Remember I have to think about the people at the back of the grid as well as the front.

Regarding the teams - There are a few teams that are already obvious, but those people who don't yet have a team-mate and haven't yet chosen a car, please think about it and let us know before say wednesday. Those who havent chosen, will get theire team-mate and car assigned. just be sure that you have the correct car by next thursday. BTW - If you need quick cash to afford a new car try some of the 'Seasonal events'.

Regarding Ballast - I think it might work, so I will make sure the majority don't have problems with the idea and add it to the rules.

Can I take the Epson NSX? I like driving MR's more than FR's, so it could be of assistance in my new championship chase.

How would you control ballast for the front runners? there is no way in the settings that you can enforce that... If you do set a weight limit it will be a global limit which everyone will have to take.
Just my two-cents on that..

Any other Saffers that wana team up?

OK, we now have 16 drivers :)

I have added a reserves/stand - ins section to the bottom, so if anyone drops out or needs a stand-in, that list will be used.

This is going to be AWESOME !

Yeah thats right, sorry bud...already committed to petrolhead.

@homes - Please sign up deoncharles, he wants in big time.

I see now JV got the last spot, so just stick him in the reserve list - shot

OneManRiot - Maybe team up with JAYVEE. He is a saffer (but has a UK flag coz he lives in the UK)???

Ya that is a difficult one. I was thinking of getting those 3 drivers have to make their car 'shared' before entering the lounge. The car can then be inspected before they enter. But then how would we stop that driver from changing things once in the lounge... Maybe we should change it to a setting that is easier to police. Any suggestions?
