I get into enough wierd convos on Skype as it is :P.

You picked a good week to miss. SSR5 is the first street circuit of the regular season. From the 20 minutes of testing that I have actually done, it appears that tire wear might be a problem. It is a long track. This will be a setup and strategy track more than a driver's track.

I'm liking the track at the moment. It's got a good flow until you get to the back half.

Hmmmmm..... can I hit the 1:20's in two days? I'm already high 1:21 with mistakes. All I need is a clean lap where I'm somewhat ahead (like my previous ghosts have been) and I'll be halfway there. The other half is getting into a decent state of mind.

7-8 laps of tyre life right now. Maybe due to the front wear being the main killer, I could trade off rear tyre wear for hopefully more pace.

Yea I like the Clubman version of the track way better. The back half just doesn't suit me for whatever reason. :indiff:

I disagree, personally. The first half is epic, but, without it, there's no variety in the corners, IMO.

I like curb hopping in the one corner, and driving my cars like they're V8 Supercars @ Surfer's Paradise.

The problem is in the back section of the track when your going uphill to the blind right hander. It's hard see the apex going up to that turn. That whole last section will make or break a lap. I might have to try the curb hopping line.

But, no, I'm not going to number all of the corners.

The first half is a finesse portion. The first half reminds me of Deep Forest. The back half is where your setup will have to be spot on in order for you to be fast. After running some more laps, I can't get jack squat for tire wear. The front tire wear is awful.

This means that the rear tire wear on the Mazda will be nice. :) yay!

Wait, front tire wear is bad on this track? Well that's not good for the Audi. I'll run some laps tomorrow after ALMS.

Yea for my DP it is every 3 laps of rear tire wear is 2 laps of front tire wear. It is that unbalanced right now.

I just checked OP. No news at all about laps. :ouch:

Anyways, I checked what Storm said, the Viper's getting 7 laps in testing, meaning 6 laps in racing conditions, when you have to go off-line to pass/leave space. 7 will be possible, though, for anyone who gets and maintains a nice lead.

30 + 1 laps good?

That fits a nice pit window... 4 times into the pits could be 3 times into the pits, or 5 times into the pits. Depends on strategy.

3 times: 8 lap stints or one stint on mediums
4 times: 7 lap stints
5 times: 6 lap stints  I don't think this strategy will work.

Kart Space might be a 10 second stop. :D

Does Skype cost money?

It's unfathomable, considering the tire wear on karts, that you'd, in any sense of the word "reality," need to pit for tires, meaning that a tire change would not, in reality, even be necessary. I'm thinking, depending on refuelling, that it'd be shorter.

100 lap kart race?

100 lap kart race?

The tires will last through entire seasons. You can use the same set of tires, barring blow-outs, for a season or two, in karting. The fuel is a different story, but, depending on the fuelling system, fuel is changed much faster than tires, in some cases. That's all I meant by that.

100 lap kart race=about 25% of the tire life on a racing kart.
