The Rolex Sports Car Series, Season 3! Finished! Thanks Everyone!

How was the turnout today?

At points an 11 man turnout. Then connection issues ensued. I dc'ed. I rejoined lobby, got bored waiting for fed, so went to practice and got black screened.

Then we got near on half a race with some good action. As dc forced me to the back of the grid; I had to scrap my way through a chasing pack of 3 other cars, which was especially hard when I tried to get an overtake, the draft repulsed my efforts. There was a significant battle up front as well, which allowed me to catch up rapidly; though with the pit window approaching :sly:. Although everyone was in GT cars.

Also about preseason, cheeky go round Monaco anyone? Maybe something else like Autumn Ring? Something that would suit the Audi a bit more, though the Mazda...

Both of you guys seemed a bit off the pace, we may need to give you guys a boost.

I think it's the front downforce that's slowing me down a bit too. Not even the slipstream was helping me that much last night.

On the plus side Tyre ware doesn't seem to be too bad. Although I guess i'll be at a slight disadvantage because of the 4WD.

Ferrari's have it. How was your torque distribution? I suppose I was slow in the Audi as well. In fact it was the slowest for me (barely compared to the Mazda)

Oh aha well i shouldnt have an excuse really :/ and I had it at 10/90 to try and save front tyres but later into the stint I switched to 20/80 to try and improve grip.

So is the next race pre season? :P Theres no dates in OP so hard to tell..

I dropped the ball on the pre season schedule.. I wasn't quite sure how many we would need. This week and probably next week will be pre season (I want the online to be fixed before we start)

Sooooo, we can start the talkin' about this week's track!

How about Cape Ring inside? Is that a viable option? I know that we had talked about running a version of Cape Ring in the season 3 interest checks.

Any track is fair game now ;)

If we go to any Cape Ring, it should be Cape Ring South. I think it has the best layout suitable for racing without having to use the loop.

I could match my pace in the Ferrari with the Audi. In fact, I took my first Rolex win here last season in the Audi. :D The key here is since there's a lot of slow turns followed by long straights, you have to actually use the Audi's AWD to get yourself a nice launch out of the corners. It's what kept me from Mel's draft here last year which allowed me to pull a nice large gap.

The last corner probably gains / loses a second or more by itself. Unfortunately, until the Audi dropped off, and Chevvy spun, the draft train negated it :grumpy:.

I would prefer either of the Cape Ring layouts or Autumn Ring for next week, I don't see a race at Monaco working out very good. If anyone wants to practice my car has horrible wheelspin that I need to figure out how to fix so I'll be on everyday this week from about 4:30-6:15 central except for Wednesday.

We don't want to rush the street circuits. I like the Cape Ring idea.

Yeah, my Monaco suggestion was more of a joke. I still think a more technical track would be more beneficial, so Autumn Ring would be my first choice.

It's about time! Congrats!

Only my second weekend racing, but it was soooooo cool!

I was all over this guy. then he gets stupid and hits this guy that was in the middle of the track! they start flipping and I lead.... and end with a 15 second gap after leading 18ish laps!

Awesome! :dopey:

It's just so awesome! You go into this new 'zone' of focus... I honestly didn't miss one shift the whole race (No aids) and my left foot is hurting and my right foot was NOT used to all that heel toeing!

Wins like that are the best. The ones you work really hard for always feel really great in the end.

:) yep! The gap was down to like 6 seconds when the big NASCAR crash happened, then I entered BEAST mode and was like a second a lap faster xD

Polar, I have found a DTM series at Saturday 1am for me, so there is no need to squeeze me in, it seems there are a lot of people in your series. Cheers man and G'luck with the series.
