Ah! Now, pardon my ignorance (and this is an honest question, no joking involved) what use does farming rocks have? I'm pretty sure I'm over thinking the whole thing, but the phrase 'rock farming' is just so off-putting.

I guess "Rock Farming" was the one thing that supported the Tallylyn for years, then. I guess it's just a cute little name they gave mines/collieries/quarries.

It's great for railways, as there were at least three major quarries in the Railway series - the china clay works, the Ffarquhar quarry, and the slate quarry on the Skarloey...not to mention the lead mine waste used as ballast on the line...

Rock farming is a euphemism used by real crop farmers who have especially rocky soil to humorously justify all the effort they put into making things grow where they don't want to. Yes, I am a farmer. And still lurking in this thread for its humor value.

Anyways, what's wrong with the haters?; "I've only watched the first episode and I wont watch more because it sucks and it's girly"

1. Go watch the second part of the pilot. You can't take an opinion with something that ends in "To be continued".
2. Are you even over 12 years old? I mean you sound like 10 year olds that go "eeewww... girls..." If you were at least 14 you should be more mature than that, even better, you should be like "Yay, Girls!" Go get a personality of your own.
3. Go learn something about tolerance and not misjudging things. I recommend this:
