Will the current Articles of Impeachment ever be sent from the House to the Senate?

There was a 2 year investigation into Trump and he was exonerated.

He said he was, the report said otherwise. Which one are you listening to?

Edit:

Lemme see... what was it that they wrote...

"the Special Counsel states that ‘while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.' "

Oh yea... that's right. The opposite of what Trump said.

Britain is the place that flew large floats that disgraced an American president. You're happy about that aren't you?
Do you have anything that's actually logical to say? If not please just stop making it worse for yourself. As an American... Guess what? Most of us here are American. Enough already

Have fun with your leftist beliefs that there is no other thoughts than yours. I'm out. Have a nice day.

It's comical. There are people in this thread who are died in the wool libertarians, myself a registered independent for > 20 years, posters who have at least described themselves as 'right leaning' but if we don't side with Trump, we're all now labeled "leftists". And naturally it's stated as an insult.

Well, yes ... because "leftist" now means anyone who is not a Trumpist. :ouch:

That's the tragedy when society divides into insanely partisan bickering. Hopefully it will heal over time, much time.

Meanwhile, more cats are set amongst the pigeons with the release of the IG report - something for both sides to ponder and/or worry over. Yet another potentially catastrophic bombshell will come when Special Prosecutor Dunham weighs in with a Grand Jury.

Personally, I'm a little surprised that there aren't more Republicans pushing back against Trump as giving them a bad name. I can't imagine that he's anywhere close to what most citizens would consider an ideal leader for the party.

It's quite simple. Imagine a scale with Sadiq Khan and Kamala Khan at one end and Genghis Khan and Khan Noonien Singh at the other end. If you are to the left of Genghis Khan then you are a leftist, otherwise you are a normal person.

(I know Genghis Khan wasn't right wing but it's kind of become proverbial at this point.)

I found it interesting to learn that no President has ever actually been removed from office following impeachment, including Nixon. I guess I forgot that tidbit. So it's unlikely he'll be removed and we shouldn't expect it. But hopefully the trial is conducted in a way that really illustrates to the public what's been done and why it should be punished. There are still a lot of people out there only getting their news from conservative sources and most of them probably haven't seen the hearings, haven't seen the anger and dismissiveness of Republicans in those committees, and haven't really gathered that the Republicans haven't actually refuted the accusations in any way. They're only attempting to redirect the narrative rather than actually defend the President. As all of us adults know, from all those lessons we've learned growing up, normal the reason a person deflects from the matter at hand is because they don't want to admit the matter at hand.

That's strange - I've always said "to the right of Attila the Hun".

The purpose of a trial is not a political stunt. Hearsay not allowed. Guilty until proven innocent is not a thing.
Imo the idea that any of us know all that much is naive at best.

Except for the things that the President himself admitted were true in front of cameras? Or is this the time to lean into the fact that he's a compulsive liar, and try the defence that even his own admissions can't be used as evidence against him?

Me too, but Genghis worked better with the Khan theme. Guess I could have contrasted him with leftist poet Attila The Stockbroker instead.

I certainly am. UK citizens are free to have peaceful protest. Even if it hurts the feelings of the Tangerine Tosser.
I doubt it hurt his feelings. Oh and ironically the same baby Trump float that got stabbed and deflated met the same fate here.
And keep it classy, he has a name.

You know, propoganda is effective. It’s been the same thing for years now regarding President Trump.
You know a lot of American tax dollars were spent on an investigation before. Quite a lot. All during the process pundits, talking heads, media people spoke about all the facts and evidence that would come out from Mueller. That was an epic fail. but then after however long it was it came to nothing.
The propoganda about it just continued. As soon as that effort failed, a magical unicorn appears! A whistleblower haha.
Lol
It scares me that people continue to take this seriously, or rather it speaks to the effectiveness of propoganda. They get everyone into full on psychopathic group hate ‘mode’ if you will with quite a lot of advanced psychological tactics, repeated 24-7.
When it comes down to it, what did he really do? What has it been proved that he has done? Where is the hard evidence that every talking head and politician in the United States from one side of the aisle was quoted and on video discussing.
Where was it? There’s plenty of,you tube everyone has seen these compilations of the folks who talked about the evidence having their words come back to haunt them. They were all LIES. Propoganda is an amazing tool amazing.
Once it gets going and the groupthink begins, next comes bullying, even violence.
That’s how the Nazis got their evil accomplished also.
Luckily, in the USA times are not that bad economically like they were back in the day in Germany.
Propoganda is an effective tool, maybe much more effective these days because of technology.

House Dems unveil two articles of impeachment: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

If I didn't know better, I would say you were referring to Breitbart, Foxnews or 8chan. If you're going to talk about propaganda and manipulation, it's a great place to start. For kicks I watched a bit of the hearings on Fox news and it's ridiculous how they spin things. No wonder people are confused. At one time Fox was at least respectable with a right wing bias. But now, it's nothing but a sounding board.

Back in the real world, I read through the published Muller report. At least as much as I could and the parts that weren't redacted. Did you read it? I mean, REALLY read it? Because if you did and did so with an open mind, I think it's almost impossible to believe that that the Trump administration isn't guilty of obstruction. To say that Muller report came to nothing is the equivalent of an Ostrich sticking it's head in the ground.

You're thinking about clicking it, aren't you? Well...don't.

Edit: In case you've forgotten, this is the link you absolutely should not click. [content warning]

Bruh.

I've been away for a bit and like the first link I click is this one. You sonofa....

Well, he has violated the Constitution numerous times. The most flagrant one is his illegal use of tariffs. He also completely ignored Congress' ruling on the border wall too while shutting down the government because he was having a temper tantrum. Also, let's not forget how his bump stock law is in clear violation of the 2nd Amendment since it essentially criminalizes anyone who owns a bump stock and leads to the government confiscating weapons.

Rudy Giuliani is also probably guilty of violating the Logan Act and since he was acting on behalf of Trump, I'm guessing Trump is guilty there by association.

All of those things point to an abuse of power, especially the tariffs since the president doesn't/shouldn't have the power to begin with.

Any intelligent Republican should absolutely hate Trump. He's a closet Communist who wants to be a pseudo dictator while running the economy instead of allowing the free market to be free. Going against the free market is like the least Republican thing I can think of.

Taxes are also way too high, spending is through the roof, and the government is no smaller than when Trump took office. Those are all very non-Republican things too.

In terms of obstruction, all you have to do is look at how many people Trump has fired because they agreed to testify or give information for an investigation. Also, not willing to testify in the impeachment proceeding is contempt, which is illegal.

In addition to all of that, I firmly believe Trump does have some dubious dealings with Russia. While there's no hard evidence the public is aware of, I'm guessing within the government the truth is known.
