Will the current Articles of Impeachment ever be sent from the House to the Senate?

... this is not about incarcerating or executing Donald Trump. This is about removing him from office.
Yes, it is called impeachment in the House and conviction in the Senate, per the Constitution. If you want to remove him from office, first you must go through the process of impeachment or an election.

Right, because words and their meanings have always been used properly in the English language. It's the same difference right now until The Impeachment Hearings are completed. It's all part of the impeachment. Once that is done then proper legal conviction can occur. Right, @Danoff?

Yes but...

Even though it is called conviction, it is not actually a criminal trial. Trump's not going to jail for this, the question is whether to remove him from office. Any criminal prosecution would presumably take place after removal from office (presuming he was not insta-pardoned).

Once again, the decision at hand for the Senate is not whether to incarcerate (or worse) the President. The decision is removal of office.

However, impeachment is not a criminal proceeding, as the defendant does not risk forfeiture of life, liberty or property; the only penalty is removal from office upon conviction by two-thirds of the senators present. Upon conviction (no president or vice-president has ever been convicted), a second vote is held to determine, by majority vote of the senators present, if the convicted office holder shall be barred from holding further federal office.

The senate ultimately have to judge if Trump wanted Hunter Biden investigated to discredit his political opponent or to persue a debunked conspiracy theory. The rest is all just smoke.
While the reason isn't unimportant, the impoundment of funds appropriated by Congress, without approval by Congress subsequent to seeking special consideration, is an abuse of power no matter what or how thin the justification.

Really? You're gonna choose to die on that hill?
I mean...it's an improvement over the rage-quit approach:

You march to the beat of your own special drummer on many issues, and it is futile to argue with you. If every judge in the land rendered a decision you didn't agree with, you would still insist you are right and they are wrong, such is the degree of your fervor and certitude. Fortunately for us, you are not a judge and never will be.

I simply asked a question. I know y'all know I support Trump but come on y'all, can I ask a question without somehow it being linked to me defending him?

Your question puts a lot of research on others to figure out what you're even talking about. It would be helpful if you linked to at least a story talking about what you're asking. Anyway, here:

As with all things, the details are significant, and do not lend themselves to sound bites. Obama withheld guns, not aid. And, as has been mention to you specifically in the past, the reason is important. But also congress withholding aid because congress doesn't vote for it is very different from the white house withholding aid that it cannot withhold because congress authorized it in order to gain personal favors. Very very different.

If you have some information about specific times Ukraine didn't get aid, I'm sure we could all discuss them.

I don't, that's why I asked...
A few here seem to have a good knowledge of history and our government, I just wanted to know what anyone here knew, if anything.

Shoot me...

You on the left are blinded by hatred!

Card carrying Libertarian.

The last time I voted for one of democrat or republican, I voted republican. Try again. I voted Johnson in 2016 (he was previously a republican governor before running on the Libertarian ticket).

None of this can be taken seriously when the left was out to impeach him on day one!
It absolutely can and should be taken seriously.

Even if you feel that the Dems have been crying wolf about Trump, you do know how The Boy Who Cried Wolf ends, right? With the sheep getting eaten, because people won't listen to the claims that there's a wolf?

The moral's meant to be to not raise false alarm (which you feel the dems have been doing), but when we're the sheep who'll be eaten... it would certainly behoove us to, y'know, at least consider and look into the possibility that the claims of a wolf might be true rather than just turning a blind eye to it.

It's a discussion forum, as such I'm free to discuss, unless you are able to point out which part of the AUP states otherwise.

As an American i don't appreciate you calling a duly elected president "The Orange one". Shows your IQ.

There was a 2 year investigation into Trump and he was exonerated. I as a American am tired of the polluted politics that have became our society!

That seems to be the thing about Trumpists... they don't seem to be aware that respect ishas to be earned, not simply demanded.

And the leftist Mayor never had anything bad to say about Trump? Your are so blinded you will never find your way out of the woods.

I really don't care what you think in that regard, nor does it have anything to do with IQ.

So far you have failed to produce a single reasoned point or evidence, and until you do I will continue to treat your posts on the matter as fundamentally worthless.

Britain is the place that flew large floats that disgraced an American president. You're happy about that aren't you?

 It's not about saying bad words. It's about demanding respect worthy of a statesman while not acting remotely statesmanlike.

I'm just pointing out that foreigners weigh in on our politics all the time so we're perhaps justified in participating in a thread in which the leader of NATO and the free world is suspected of withholding Congress-approved aid for political favours.

Actually the UK in my username is short for Ukrainian.

Just kidding.

Trump was never exonerated. And if you're tired of politics, why'd you pop your head into a political thread?
