I think you're missing what makes Porsches great. Rather than pumping out all new things every few years, they just keep remodeling and reworking the current car. And this is great because it stays (more or less) true to the original, and yet still a benchmark car. If they didn't do this, then we'd probably just have another FR GT car with a V8 or turbo six.
In the 911 range:
- Classic (1964-1989)
- 930 (1974-1989) (Turbo Classics)
- 964 (1989-1993)
- 993 (1993-1998)
- 996 (1999-2004)
- 997 (2004-present)
- 998 (Currently in development)
It's not tricky. They go up.
930 SC would be my personal choice. they're available for under 20k USD nowadays..
Yeah, but Nissan can't spend as much on the engine and they also have to factor in fuel economy to a good extent.
Correct. It's just a Carrera carrying TechArt aero pieces & a slight bump in power.Unless Techart modified the body, it's just a Carrera.

Doesn't the 911 still get better fuel economy than a 370Z as well?
I always liked this

Yes, but Gemballa's start life as a Porsche.
So do RUF's.
No, but it's pretty similar actually. 18/26 EPA for the 370Z and 18/25 for the Carrera and Carrera S. The 370Z has 332 HP out of 3.2 liters while the Carrera has 344 out of 3.6 liters and the Carrera S has 385 out of 3.8 liters. I still think the 370Z is impressive considering the price, but I'm not one to get hung up on HP/liter.
They start life as a Porsche, but what does the V5/Logbook say? It doesn't say Porsche...
The 370Z actually has a 3.7 litre, hence the 370Z name.
Wow, all that noise. And only 255 ps.[/thread]
Yes actually, the 370Z is 18/25 and the 3.6 liter 911 gets 19/27. Plus the 911 is more than a half-second quicker to 60. Credit the lighter weight and slightly smaller engine (3.6 vs 3.7).Doesn't the 911 still get better fuel economy than a 370Z as well?
