what is everyones take on gran turismo 5's latest patch? i notice the loading between menus have quickend, and that certain aspects of online have been slightly fixed, although, the offline menus will freeze just as much.. and with the new seasonal and online dealer thrown into the mix, what does everyone think of it?
and what are a few things they could have done better and/or should put into the next patch?

Edit: thoughts on 1.13?

as far as patches go. i have to say this was a real stonker. i've been a patch enthusiast since 1998 so i know what i'm talking about.

reminds me of the great patch drought of '03

You Can't get events to load at all can you?
Like an hour ago I couldn't load them, at all. I had to quit GT5 2-3 times since every time I got stuck in the black screen with Gt logo for at least 3 minutes, then they started to load...but very slowly.

p.s. I never had any loading problem before this patch.

Still freezes when you go across the line for a second on time trial.. this is the main thing I wanted fixed. Not brilliant tbh.

Ouch, well at least there loading.
Seems not a straightforward fix this one.

Patching seems to improve some and impair others.

How on earth do you sort that mess out?

As for the verdict, some say it's good that PD don't charge for these things.

My question would be, would you have gladly paid for this update?

So far I'm very impressed with it, even if it's just a little bugger. If I knew what it actually fixed I'd probably buy it, but I like that fact that it is free =P

Anyway, so far I've had no problems with freezing, and load times have been improved slightly. Also I messed around some city tracks and did a few laps and noticed even at high speeds there was no image tearing. That's a definite plus. Some still have slight FPS drops but overall everything has improved. We are back to Gran Turismo! I encourage anyone that put down there controller to pick it back up and give GT5 one more go.

The settings screen has been sped up, which is good, but that's all good I've noticed. I've noticed one very bad thing though...LSD can't be adjusted on FF's now. So definitely a step back for PD for that. PD should recall back 1.11 then fix the LSD bug.

I noticed about the screen tearing as well, it looks smoother and that was the first thing I noticed.

 best post ive seen for a while

Ya I saw that the overall quality of a race was improved with the smoother frames and the no tear image. I just checked the LSD for FF car's, and I can freely adjust all settings.

So...how did you actually get onto the slider that lets you change the settings? It's not that they're locked, it's that you can't actually get on them to set them... :(

How? On mine the cursor will not move onto them to adjust them.

I don't know, I just adjusted them the same way as any other cars.

EDIT:

No more blocky textures and shadows!!!!!!

That was a rough year. Be glad you weren't around for the Death Patch of '88. Remember the fallen patched games.

I won't say that screen tearing hasn't been improved but it still happens frequently and you cannot avoid seeing it on a track such as Côte d'Azur.

Seeing as nothing major was promised, i'm not bothered. But the next couple, i'm expecting big big things.

I am beginning to wonder if it's only certain cars?

I hope that LSD problem isn't going to affect me, I've got a Volvo C30 for TOCA this week.:scared:

Other then that I haven't noticed anything, but I've only been doing seasonals today.

I did a quick search, but couldn't find any patch notes released for 1.11. Anyone have a link to them? or know if they've been posted anywhere?
