The Verdict: Patch v1.13

No, I'm not referring to that. The force feedback effect I'm talking about feels like a very small "notch" to which the wheel appears to stick (or "snap to"). The "notch" is placed around its neutral position.

I've never noticed that. I'm not sure that it was there before, but I believe I've messed with the wheel enough while navigating the menus to have noticed it.

Mine's been like that since day one.
And my DFGT also aligns itself to the left.
Oy. Didn't notice this post underneath.

But, for me the wheel is always slightly turned to the right (I think) when it aligns itself. Right or left, either way.

It's good to see that I'm not the only one whose wheel turns to the right when aligning. Though it doesn't seem to affect the wheel much.

I'm using a DFGT too and didn't really notice a difference post 1.11 install.
I just did a couple of the new seasonals though.

No, not at all. It's not like it's a wall painting. It's a wheel and it's meant to spin. You need to relax, just relax! Are you still there? Brenda?

Sorry, I lost a green grape today.

:)

Some people say the framerate is improved. Was there something wrong with it? I never noticed lol
It was a lot more flickery and simply didn't look as smooth as it does now. It all just looks calmer.

Quick question guys. I've seen a couple of places stating the draft has been fixed. Only had chance to do the Seasonals and it may be more realistic but still hard to be sure.

Has anyone tried online NASCAR races yet? That would be the best test of this! Very interested to find out :)

The guy who tested it out was with some friends and I'm sure if he went through the trouble of doing that and posting about it, that they did good enough testing.

Here is the testing I'm referencing
nascar event to easy and you can't turn of skid force recovery. Some think they hav efixed the drafting abit giving it less draft. I noticed it in the nascar event that you only get draft when real close to the car in front. We did some online races with the mclaren from arcade garage and it seamed to pull up when in a draft, it didn't pull up too good before the patch because of that flap break thing it uses.
I mixed up his post with someone else's for one thing I said. Which was the "more true to life" thing in another post I made here or somewhere else.

Shadows (on some tracks) are improved (now I realize that they are "per-track")

Pop-up issue on SSR5 (before last tunnel) is fixed!

Reflections are bit better now (especially on Tokyo, but in Tsukuba they really pop-up on long straight)

Something in the graphics seens to be really improved. Maybe it's smoother indeed, and the reflections are a little bit better.

It must be the memory issues that were improved.

Thank you, I appreciate the time you put into answering this. However (and I am sure it is just me being :dunce:), but I still don't fully understand whether the answer is Yes, drafting is improved / more realistic, or No, it's exactly the same.

I'm a big Online NASCAR racer, but not had time to test myself, and would love it if the drafting is now, more realistic.

Thanks again. :scared:

I haven't noticed any difference with the screen tearing, framerate or shadows. Perhaps it's a placebo effect like after every patch?

People have complained that drafting was overdone, too much, too fast. Now it's less "exaggerated".

What I thought. But I was not at all expecting any difference in visuals (with a 60 mb patch, it didn't even come to mind). I first noticed the smoothness, then I checked the standard car I was driving for its shadow. Then I came here to see what I find about this, and I find that others have noticed it all as well.

There is a glitch still here, thats been here for ages:

Glitch item: White Subaru rims (OZ motorsport wheels).

I have seen these apply themself on different cars on different accounts/saves. :nervous:

F.ex. last time they glitched they showed up in the garage, but not in GT Auto.

They always make me think a corrupted savefile is near. :D

Here is how they look:

Bugfix: The menus are way faster, I can purchase all the wheels in half the time now. 👍

Which track/tracks did you try?

If this is the case, then I'm very happy. PD have actually listened to some of our requests 👍 👍 👍

That's interesting but wouldn't that completely screw up the nascar special events?

I dont see any textures at all anymore? The quality in the mirror is worse than it was, the cars dont have detail anymore, the screen looks blurry. The dials and other stuff are okay tho, but other than the shadows and smoke that got improved I think it got worse!!!

Fix the image quality!!

Sorry maybe wrong topic but I've noticed that damage in this game (arcade mode/hard damage) is AWESOME. I kill my Mclaren F1 in one hit - now its completely undrivable and more I drove it the handling is keep changing. Of cource there is no broken headlights but other than that - awesome, just awesome.

If you didn't check it for a while - check it now! 👍
Sadly it's not in A-Spec mode. :(

Thanks to PD and Kaz!!!

Rome, Nurburgring, maybe Cote, and Autumn Ring and Eiger. I didn't pay attention to any track shadows like someone mentioned, but I did for the standard cars. I only tried a few.

That's exactly what I thought. But, then I remembered I had very recently quoted this
Journalist: Why did it take so long? And what is yet to come to perfect the game?

Kazunori Yamauchi: All the parts of GT are very difficult to develop and there's quite a gap between just completing something and perfecting it. In the process there's a lot of work involved between and sometimes that means getting rid of what you already have and starting afresh. That's what took the longest.

I really don't think that's the case. Fix your TV settings. I'm not even kidding.

I noticed the exhaust tips on my Gallardo were chipped and bent from crashing (obviously). This was the day before this patch so I wonder now.

It's on 1080p and PS3 is also running on 1080p... I know how to fix my TV settings, even if I put it on the highest sharpness it's still blurry. I don't know if you have eye for photography or anything else that has to do with sharpness, but I think I know what I'm talking about.

Plus: Like I said before, the dials and stuff ARE actually sharp, so it's not my TV at all. It's only the environment.

Do you realize that these are dirt/snow wheels on premiums? When you change to road tires in garage/settings, they rims will be normal (stock/aftermarket). That's not a glitch.

I know, I know. I was just hoping you weren't smart. I really don't understand your problem because it's completely fine to me.

GT5 -> Options -> Display -> Image quality to "Sharpness"?

5 minutes ago I've played GT5P - now I understand what you talking about. Give me some time to figure it out!

The sharpness setting on the tv should be set to lower for an HD display, it's designed for poor picture quality inputs like analogue.

I know, it's set to 30 on standard, but it was to test the difference, I have some other friends who has this problem too, but its really a minor difference, but to me, it's disturbing because it suddenly looks way worse than it was before. It's more like low res rather than 1080p

I don't have GT5P, but you do see a difference in image quality right now? Hope it's really due to settings and not a bug.

Ok, I don't have a 1080p TV so I can't help you further. Maybe the game has a few problems running at 1080p or maybe something has changed in the patch.
