The Infinity concept vgt is a HYBRID FR 563pp, 535hp/376lb-ft,1680kg stock. Tires are sport soft. Downforce is 230/240, nothing can be upgraded or changed except tires, power percentage, brake balance and ballast. Weight distribution is a mid engined-like 46:54. After oil change the power (hp) stays at 535, yet the torque output grows to 395lb-ft and the pp total increases by 2 points to 565pp. The hybrid power can be 'manually boosted' using the nitrous button like the Nissan 2020.
And, visually, is a pure elegance!

The first part of the sentence I can agree with, but the Mitsubishi? No, maybe the Mercedes and the BMW, but not the Mitsubishi. Just stating my opinion.
The Mercedes in it's road form is no slouch, and the Bimmer is ridiculously fast. The Mitsubishi is kind of around the Infiniti's playing field.

Ah, so that was you meant, the closest rival to the Infiniti. I'd guess it was more the Merc's level, the road form of it at least. As they both lean more towards the Turismo side of the GT car class (slightly heavier than most of the VGT cars). And how does the Nissan stack up to the Infiniti?

They are 'visions'...

Well, I'd guess some enjoy their concept cars with a dash of realism. Not a problem, but there will always be companies like Chaparral creating crazy cars, as there are companies such as Infiniti creating more sensible cars. Variation is the spice of life, as one said.

I look forward to testing these fully, I only drove them briefly just enough to get the gift-cars but my impression of the Infiniti, is that it was pretty sluggish... maybe it was just my dislike for Willow Springs, or the fact I drove it after the 2X! The 2X, is... umm, interesting... but it's going to be pretty tedious trying to get that thing around a circuit like the 'ring.

Yeah, the Infiniti does feel stale after the mindtrip that is the 2X... I felt the same when I drove it.

As for the 2X, I've heard that using a pad will create some issues with understeering compared to using a wheel. Be aware of that when driving it. The Infiniti is not bad, but it won't be as fast as other VGT cars, partly due to its weight. It does look nice and sleek, and the sound is not half bad either. Not a bad effort.

Well, one thing I hadn't considered, is thanks to non traction related propulsion... the X2 will still do three figure speeds off-road, including sand traps

Holy (insert Gordon Ramsey swearing here)... But don't try to get the car on the grass and then try to get back on the track immediately, because it will kill you if you touch a blade of grass. :scared:

 I was trying to get round Brands GP... ran wide at Paddock Hill (Turn 1)... didn't slow down, and didn't spin when re-joining

I still don't like the fact the 2X relies too much on make-believe... but it's an interesting proposition.

I guess gravel doesn't unphase it... But from what happened to me at Deep Forest, grass does.

But yes, the 2X is a bit of an unicorn, but it is interesting as a concept car. Sure, some things look like GM pulled them out of their rear end (laseeeeeers), but it still works as a racing car.

I really love the Infiniti. Certainly one of the most beautiful and handles quite nicely. It's not as crazy as the Chap, but boy it's good to drive something that actually handles like a car. The Willow Springs track is perfect for this car. Despite being an FR it feels more like a rear biased 4WD to me. And that 45:55 weight distribution means I could do a perfect 4 wheel drift all the way through Willow's long radius corners. Just beautiful  It's pretty good on Dirt/Snow too surprisingly. Great selection of colours too, but Y U NO GIVE PAINTCHIPS PD???:grumpy::lol:

The Infiniti has a 4500 cc n/a V8. Gee, I wonder where they are planning to get such an engine?

Oh, right...

(Contrarely to what many have said and will say, I find driving the 2X to be immensely fun, if hard and a bit counterintuitive. And besides, it's a laser-powered racing suit - I refuse to call it a car, it seems too generous - with the Chaparral brand, what more could I ask for? )

I've noticed what you mean... it's also interesting backwards at 200mph  funny though, with no gearbox, I have to hold the donwshift paddle in to reverse the car..

Anyhow...

Infiniti seems to be the second slowest VGT so far, after the Mercedes, it's not bad to drive though - but since I always test stock, it's only on SS tyres, which doesn't help the lap times.

Good to know I can hit 200 mph going backwards, makes for some impressive J-turns.

But yeah, the weight it has really drags the Infiniti's perfomances down a bit, and with Sport tires, it will be slower than most of the VGT cars, who pack Racing tires. Nevertheless, it is nice to drive at least.

"Just beautiful", yes...he is on the top! The rear wing perfectly integrated in the 'soul' of the car...

That 2X on the DS3... Understeer city. I mean it looks mean in black but that understeer.....

The Infinity I like. It's not bonkers like some of the other VGT cars and it handles reasonably as well. This is one of my top 3 VGT cars yet (after the BMW and Volkswagen).

I can't help but wonder who's next.

If I were a (good) betting man, I'd put my money on Alpine being next, after their (accidental) leak of their so-called "final design" on Twitter. Although it wasn't game modeled, a "final design" would mean it is pretty close to completion.
But on the other hand, NAIAS happens next month, and that could be a chance for one of the 'Murican brands (SRT, Tesla, Ford or GM Design) to unveil their car. It depends on whether we get one or two VGTs for January...

I'm of a different opinion and I guess it's because I use the G27 so I'll have to try the 2X on the DS3 tonight but what I found is that with the 2X it's very much like an open wheel car (I guess technically it is an open wheel car) and that downforce is your friend so you really have keep your speed up through the corners. I did find it frustrating on the corners after the bridge on the HSR as I understeered in to the grass (sometimes the wall) but there is a sweet spot when you can get though those corners and put down a good clean time. As for the Infiniti, I like it's looks and its willing to let the tail step out a good bit but getting it back can be tricky and it is certainly has its fair share of understeer. I was also expecting a better exhaust note (I know, I know I should have known better).

It may be the second slowest VGT but, even the Mercedes is no slouch.

Really? the Merc is slow? I thought its was pretty fast. In fact, it's one of the fastest cars I own in the 600pp range. As fast as my Scuderia and my MP4-12c. Even won my very first online race in it at the Nurburgring.

My thoughts exactly.

The Chaparral is one of the strangest cars I've ever driven in this game. It's the sound and look of the laser propulsion system that weirds me out. But it is very entertaining to drive. I got mine in white, by the way. The black looked good, but white just seems the right color for a Chaparral.

The Infiniti is a good car, but it pales in comparison to the Chaparral. I think it would have benefited from being released separately. I got it on Flowing Coral, the most interesting color they had available.
