Yesterday, they told us "Record high today is a lock. 85 degrees with wall-to-wall sun!" So naturally, it was sort of hazy and almost overcast at times, and didn't get much above 75. The weather man let himself off the hook by saying "Northwest weather can be really complex sometimes! Didn't get as hot as we thought today, and it will cool off a couple of degrees for tomorrow." Today, it got up to 85. Maybe they were just off by one day
 Well, weather in the NW is pretty messed up. They should have never said it was a lock though, they know better! It's tad over 80 here now. My local weather station is showing high 60's as the latest temperature update.

Where I live in Washington it is actually very nice. Temperatures were right around 85 degrees and it was perfect weather to go outside and play sports and such. However, on the weekend, it hasn't been so kind. It's been pretty gloomy and rainy for most of the weekend.

Hey my How hot is it thread has morphed into a Weather thread and continues on. Nice.

Anyways, it's been cool and raining all week. We had a stretch there where it was in the 20s C. But we're back to single digits now. Of course, when the shorts come out you can't put them away => kids wearing shorts to school shivering the entire way :)

So this was the "how hot is it?" thread. No wonder I couldn't find it before. :P

I was on I-5 North just while ago, I was coming back home. Crazy thunder storm and raindrops sizes of lollipop were falling down. What really made me go  were some of the drivers on the road. Yes, cars were hydroplaning at times, but they were doing 25 - 45 in the fastlane! If they can't drive at the speedlimit in hard rain, OK, I understand. Why do these people feel that they have to stay in the fastlane, causing HEAVY traffic(I'm not joking!), leaving one city block between themselves and the car in front of them(technically in front of them, like I said, it's like a whole city block). Bunch of faster drivers were passing them from the right, but they got absolutely no clue. One of them actually high-beamed me after I passed him on the right. Grow up and actually learn to drive![/rant]

Have you hugged your Haboob today? Well, it'll hug you!

Right now, a haboob is flowing over parts of Arizona right now. Anybody from there a witness to it?

The weather here in Adelaide was great, especially for winter, and considering how cold it has been latley.

It is getting very warm here now, probably 20C+.

Hasn't rained in ages again.

It was just over 100 degrees today. It was the hottest day ever in June in the Portland(Or) area.

Yeah, it's been stink hot for the past couple days here, too.

But what sucks, right now, is the humidity. It's 75 degrees outside and 2:AM with 94% humidity. During the day it was 98 degrees and 80% humidity. Talk about uncomfortable.

It is so humid here, I can't stand it. I can't wait to get out of this office.
Is it hot & humid? That could be so nasty......

Weather is just perfect today here. Sun and clouds, about 80ish. 👍

Wow .. we got hit with golfball sized hail today for like 15 minutes. And it was 95 outside at the time.

Beautiful weather. 70 degrees during the day and 55 degrees fahrenheit at night with 50% humidity (not too bad)! We keep getting rain off and on, but it isn't bad. Yesterday we got a storm with hail that took down a bunch of branches, but all of the other rainstorms have been nice. The storm dropped 1 in. of rain in 10 minutes.

After several 103 plus temp days with high humidity, we're starting to see a cool down. But, it ain't much.

96 with 30% humidity, is a break, but it's still too hot to go outside which I haven't done for two days straight, now. Yep, it was actually too hot to get the mail and paper. Thank god for kids, eh?

Been hot as hell for the past week, but tonight its been down to 14 degrees, which is damn nice.

What is up with the report of hailing from East Coast!? Reminds me of that end of the world/disaster movie.....

Yup, it’s a little bit warm here.

For the Fahrenheit-impaired, that’s a little over 47°C.

@@ I don't get the Fahrenheit system....how exactly hot is 105? 95?
What's not to get? It works just the same as any other temperature scale. Plus, there are many temperature conversion programs out there on the net that do all the hard math for you.

How hot is it here? (at my parents house)... 544 Rankine ;)

Oops, temperature went up.

That would be 49°C. Let’s shoot for fifty!

High temperatures usually occur a couple hours before sunset, around 5 or 6 PM. You've still got some heating up to do today :)

Yup, you’re right – it’s 122°F right now. Fun!

I actually don’t mind it though, because it’s wonderfully dry. Last week we had sub-100° temps, but unbearable humidity. This is actually pretty comfortable for me.

Humidity does make a world of difference on the comfort level, that's for sure. 122's still pretty crazy though. I don't think I've ever experienced it.

Just go sit in your car with the windows rolled up

When I was in Palm Springs a couple years ago, it was 112 both days I was there. It actually didn't feel too awful, but yes, it was a very dry heat. I can't imagine how terrible that temperature would be with some humidity.
