On this page alone there are quite a few new very low AI times, but propably is related to both a) AI is now better in the rain and b) tyre physics has improved traction generally.
While the AI - in my opinion - ignores the PP limit of 600 and player cars just inflate upwards negatively, the gap should be shrinking for most cars.
To me this makes it much more interesting, but that being said, I havent played for a few month straight (after the tyre rebranding, I didnt like that) so I dont have much to compare with currently.
I only pop on to the game once a month to buy any new cars that may come out. I stopped playing after PD kept giving us Eiger Nordwand Reverse in the weekly races. Week after week. I also did not like the latest physics change and PP adjustments. I'm not going to retune all my cars and figure out all new settings to make them drivable with the new physics.

I did, however, take out a stock SLS AMG to Tokyo and ran a 27:05 to barely beat Kokubun by a few tenths of a second. Terrible understeer in that car.

Saw some interesting new updates so back for fun

Got a little drive in the Hiace with mean a lot for Hong Konger (maybe just me)
It's the most popular van on the road and for anyone who go for manual driver license, we would prefer a van license rather than car license which most likely end up driving a Hiace. (I drove the previous version)

Some new cars and swap in this update
A112 swap non stop run
Screenshot_20241202_013924_YouTube.jpg

Surprisingly front tires could survive the whole run.

New Jimmy swap non stop run
Screenshot_20241202_014122_YouTube.jpg

Way more power than the other one
But the extra weight ate the front tires badly(I tune both roughly the same way)

240 SE swap 1 stop run
Screenshot_20241202_014304_YouTube.jpg

350kph+ coffin on wheels
Manageable in fresh tires, deathly when the rear drop below 50%

W196 R stock run non stop (power detune only)

Lovely handling for a vintage.

What's your set-up for the swapped Jimny? Thanks

I ran the engine swapped Civic Touring car, started on IM for 2 laps then went onto RH,but it wasnt any quicker than starting on RH,just safer on the wet track. Car is a belter on a drying track, I only did one stop for tyres and a splash of fuel. You could probably do it on a non-stopper with a bit of fuel management, but I dont chase fastest laps so would suit me. 👍
Do I need to be Level 50 to be able to get this engine swap? Or any engine swap for that matter? I haven't played in about 2.5 years so I really don't know. I bought the car but want to be able to use it ASAP.

Level 50 im afraid mate.Keep chugging away, the engine swaps arent going anywhere. 👍

I've never been successful with this WTC600, can anyone please be kind and point me the best car for this and if specific tuning is needed. mind you i do not like the idea of wall riding as i have seen many of YT videos saying it is the way to win.

I made a De Tomaso Pantera tune for this race in 2023. I don't know if it holds up still, but it's worth a shot.

Wow, Kokubun was running hot tonight. I couldn’t beat him in my engine swapped Mazda Atenza.

I don’t think I’ve seen him ever run this fast. It was a good race, though. I was right behind him for 9 of the 12 laps pressuring him trying to get his tires to wear out faster, but he still boxed after lap 7 and had a very fast pit stop. I could pass him on the main straight, but my car lacked breaking grip and cornering grip so he always passed me on the entry of turn 1 as I plowed off the racing line on turn in. Glad to see he didn’t rubber band or do some stupid stuff. It was just a solid race by him and he beat me fair and square.

My Boss was a little nerved with the previous physics update but it was still one of my fastest and favorite cars for this race. This update has improved my Boss quite a bit. The patch notes did mention improvements in traction on the dry line and from my first attempt it does seem better. My previous best time was 25:38.xxx with consistent 2:04 laps and fastest lap of 2:02.xxx. My race time have improved with 18 seconds and my fastest lap by 3 seconds. Lap times are consistent 2:02's with the last 3 laps slightly slower by a second or two due to traffic.

Lots of cars tuned to 600pp need to be detuned after the last update.
Yup. Had to remove the SM tires for SHs on my favorite car for this. This is the second time I've had to reduce the tire grade to make PP. Did get to add some power to it, getting it back up closer to 600PP and now it smokes all the cars down the front straight. Have to tippy toe through the backside of the track now, which is where I used to make up all the time previously. Speaking of which, I think it might be time to run a couple to make back what I spent on that last car for the new menu. Maybe I'll try out that piece of Ferrari in the TT though. See what everyone's irked over.

What car are you using? I'm surprised you could use medium tires without being massively slow down the main straight.

I legit just got 2nd with a bone stock gt40 '06 with power turned down to meet the under 600pp requirement, on sport hard. By the end of it I was able to do 2'11's. So I think if I tried again I could win it with this car.

Ran a pretty much fully modded Celica ST205 last night. Not a bad car but I should spend a bit more time trying to dial in a bit more initial turn in response. It liked to plow through turn 1 and wasn’t as nimble as I would have liked despite weighing 2000 lbs. Pretty good on fuel and easy on tires. Did a quick pit for a splash of fuel but kept the same SH tires on it since they were only 1/3rd used. Got the win and the CRB.

Tonight I ran a fully modded Escort Cosworth on SH tires. Won woth a 26:50. I like this one better than the Celica despite them having very similar power and weight. Much sharper turn in, the car was really well planted in the turns and it kept its line really well when flooring it out of the turns. You got to keep your corner speed up as it doesn’t have a lot of acceleration due to it only having 5 gears. They are all kind of long so you can hit 180+ on the straight.

That said, Kokubun ran a 26:55 race and he wasn’t getting a lot of pressure to keep the pace up. He’s gotten a lot faster in the last couple updates. Actually, all the AI has gotten faster. They seem to carry a bit more corner speed than they used to. You used to just need a 27:15 and you were almost guaranteed a win on this race. Now I wouldn’t feel comfortable saying you need to run a 27 flat to win. I think you need maybe a 26:55 to have a good chance at winning, but no guarantees. So 20+ seconds faster than before?

Yeah same question, I can't win with the Escort on hard difficulty, too slow in the main straight. I'm lapping in the 2.11s when I can go down to 2.06 with the best cars. No wall riding obviously.

This was on easy difficulty,Kokubun seems to be more of a threat for the win than he used to be.
Cars fast on the straight and pretty good through the bends.FM was left at 1 on the straight and 4 or 6 for the rest of the lap, pitted at the end of lap 8 for fuel and tyres.I could have just took fuel but had a few seconds over Kokubun after passing him 2 laps before,so took new tyres aswell,FM on 1 for the last 4 laps.
Ran the race a second time and couldnt catch Kokubun before we both pitted so took fuel only,no tyre change, took the win with about 5 seconds in front.Interesting few races for me.
Lap times were roughly 2.11.5`s for me,which were good for me. :)

@Tommy_D Is this with the difficulty set to hard? I only play on easy and sometimes medium, not the fastest driver around.
Yes, I do this race on hard difficulty.

I think my fastest lap was a high 2:09, but most of my laps were in the 2:10's and 2:11's. Fuel map 1 the whole time. Pit after lap 8 for fuel only. If you get just enough fuel to finish the race your pit stop is pretty quick. I went into the pits behind Kokubun but exited the pits in front of him. He never caught up to me.

I actually find this race easiest on hard, oddly enough - and that’s not me trying to brag, as much as it might sound like it  - on hard, the AI cars are better spaced out from each other, making them much easier to pass for that all important clean race bonus.
