I think people are missing something here. To say crashing your car doesn't have anything to do with Chassis repair might not be correct.

It does NOT effect the cost, that is correct, because the cost is the same no matter what you do. But I wouldn't say that crashing your car 10X in a race has no effect on the next race if you don't restore the chassis! credit repair cost and actual damage have nothing to do wtih each other in this game and that is a HUGE flaw, but I think Chassis repair has more to do than just fix an aging car...

That said, if you crash your car head on 10X going 100 mph in a GT mode race, do you see a loss of HP afterwards (engine damage) or is it the same?

Do physical damage appearances carry over into your garage, or is it only seen in the race and magically fixed afterwards? PD really needs to fix this if that is the case, and have the cars look damaged in your garage until you pay to fix them.

The most annoying thing about all this is that there's no manual on it. Nobody knows exactly how the damage works and when repairs are needed etc. Looks like it's an over-ambitious but half-assed implementation. I would have liked it better if they would just have implemented the simplistic but effective thing Forza 3 has: At the end of a race an amount of money is subtracted from your winnings depending on how badly you banged up the car during that race. If you drive clean this is $0, if you slam into things a lot it's gets higher.

I scanned this thread, so not sure if it has been said, but yourack up repair bills even if youdo NOT have a crash.

I bought a new premium car, 1970 Challenger, and drove it 0.1 mile and quit the practice run.

Car now shows a $23,000 chassis repair bill.

I then looked at my "track day" 1970 Challenger that has had its fair shar eof scrapes and bangs - alos has a $23,000 repair bill.

The system is immature and poorly presented - either impliment it or remove it.

The most expensive Body Rigidity job ive been quoted was around 100,000 to 300,000 (i cant remember) & that quote was for my Buick Special.
My face was a picture the 1st time i saw that, but ive learned to live with it... I just dont go anywhere near that menu... Ever... I forgot it was there until i read this topic :|

you always can refresh your chassis and the price will be always the same doesn't matter if you drive 1 mile or crash a 100 times. your chassis will lose a bit of rigidity only after a few miles its not noticeable so be smart and dont repair your chassis after every race i would only do it if its a used car or you just drove a 24h race. this is my experience until level 22 i dont know if the chassis repair bill has anything to do with damage when you get to a higher level but i dont think it will make a difference.

Im level 20 and have yet to notice any of my cars handling any different. I have over 500miles racked on my gtr spec v and i can still pull the same lap times as when i bought it new....after every race(if you crashed your car) it doesnt matter how much damage is done during a race.....the damage is only temporary.

I like how everyone on the Internet are proclaimed Experts in design and automotive damage. The Chassis repair so far has not shown any need for other than draining your Cr. However, there might be an update that will implement this further into the damage system. Geesh....so many kiddie complaints in here.
