I hate them, think they should concentrate on putting in cars that peoples like... but maybe there is many that like those small crapcars...

I am one of those that like these 'crapcars'.

Also I truly hope for more Skylines.

ok, think what ever you want, but im just curious, why do you want more skylines?

Its probably because he owns one ;)

I mean no offense to Skyline owners, I'm just sick of seeing so many in GT in relation to other cars. I don't see the point in adding more Skylines when theres so many other decent cars that have been completetly missed out. Although I do admit its pretty stupid they have like a different years of the same generation and model skyline, yet miss out the RWD ones.

exaclty... I can't even count all the cars that is messed out but should be in! I like skylines to, but its sad when there are to much of them! and even many of the same model!!! is it cause they dont have Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini in the game??? And Im very dissapointed at for exampel the choise of Volvo cars in the game! a estate GLT and a ff s60 when there are ones irl with 4wd! why couldn't they put in some real classics like the P1800, the 242 Group-A race car, the 850 estate BTCC car and more?

💡 I just got an idea, maybe someone found it out before, sorry if...

Anyway, I think they should put in maximum of about 20-30 cars per make. and that would be the best/newest/most fameous and most classic cars from that make... like a top 30 list of every make's cars in the game...

think thats a bad idea? :nervous:

It would be great if PD could do something like that. It would help eradicate the ton of skylines, and help place more interesting cars and maybe more dealers...hopefully.

The boys and girls at Polyphony ARE watching, just not here...

PD is a Japanese developer and their primary language is Japanese, so it's obvious that the staff directly involved with GT5 are going to look for feedback on the Japanese sites.
No, they come here alright. Most Japanese people can read and write English. Not all, but most, especially those at the age of current PD staff members. I saw some PD staff being interviewed, and most spoke some English. Kazunori can't, though. And if they can't read English, they can get the enitire site translated to Japanese, anyway.

I dont think they were crap cars in the first place. But after GT4 I became to see them as stupid, cheap, POS cars.:yuck: And really, not because of the car, but because of the "great gameplay they offered me in GT4">>:yuck::yuck::crazy: :banghead:

Cheap ricer cars.....all because of GT4.

I totally agree with Putte Tutte too, I kinda dislike PD for doing this, cause.....wtf was their motive to put this freakin damn cars in the game...I mean.....they gotta get the race feel in, the only eliminate that feel if they're gonna put more of those POS cars in. I want more race cars, and more race car championships!!

But its a "Driving Simualtion" as long as the physics model is half decent, nothing else matters and they can release any old rehashed game around that :banghead:

well, i like to go fast... I think its so boooooooring to drive those small cars that goes from 0-60 mp/h in 30-60 seconds, not fun at all. and if anyone of you think its fun I just wanna know why...

Because you only get from the game what you put into it. That's why it is so open ended and non-linear.

I enjoy taking these cars and challenging a friend with them You truly learn who drives better when one of you doesn't have the possibility of taking off. Have you ever had a wagon race, a Standard Beetle race, a SUV race, a minivan race, or a Midget race. It looks really funny watching the replay of Cube-type cars racing.

I don't know if you noticed but people on these boards are using these cars for different challeneges than just beating the AI by ridiculous leads. Have you not seen the "Daimler Motor Carriage around the Ring in 48 Hours" thread? How about the Prius on the ring with the least amount of gas used thread? These cars create more depth to the game. If you wanted to just drive race cars then why did you buy GT4? You know what they put in the game and you can expect to have to race a car with less than 100 stock horsepower.

This will never change. KY has said that his dream is to have GT be an encyclopedia of cars. That means that he wants to add as many cars as possible from the entire history of cars. I'd hate to tell you but there are more "crap cars" in real life than cars that are fun to race.

What you want and what you get are 2 different things.

For GT4, everyone wanted better AI. Did we get it? Nope.

First and last time I'll ever post in this thread.

You have to understand that with limited computation power, they did not have the ABILITY to program better AI in GT4 given the increased visuals etc. AI takes a huge hit on processor power, and the PS2 just doesn't have it in abundance. Given that, they tried their best to give us more without giving us AI, but PS2 is just a poor platform for a game like GT4.

Let me ask you this. Had they bumped down the visual quality of the game significantly for better AI, would you still be happy playing it? Because I KNOW that everyone here would complain if it looked like Tokyo Extreme racer, or something far less realistic.

I have faith that in GT5 they will improve AI (though it is an extremely daunting task, many of you do not understnad that).

But more importantly, I think they will still continue to focus on visual stun and cars. We'll see Damage without a doubt, along with more cars on track, and more detailed environments. I think AI is on their list, but not high on the priority scale.

The bottom line on the AI is, PD said they were going to improve it [i}again[/i] and they said they had improved it again and they haven't. Don't promise what you won't/can't deliver, this issomething thats been asked fro since GT1 and promised since GT1. I don't think they will deliver in GT5 and I have no reason to believe they will. The AI should be as high on the priority scale as adding cars, especially with damage being featured, but KY doesn't listen to fans as much as someone like Hideo Kojima and it may be the GT series undoing.

Didn't tha_con just told you something? that they couldn't made the AI better cause of the limited power on the PS2. I mean this is Playstation 3!!! most gaming magazines says it's about to rule Xbox360! its 1000 times faster than the PS2!!!

So, they didn't improve it when they moved onto the PS2 with upteen times more power than the PS1, I don't see a single reason why I should believe PD if they say GT5 will have better AI, and they will say that. But I'll only believe it when I see it in this case.

Okay...so I lied before...you guy's know I can't stay away from debate...

Try also to understand, that while AI improvement is needed, it's not exactly an easy task to undertake, especially when you are working with underpowered hardware.

While I'll agree that there was no jump from PS1 to PS2 in terms of the AI, they did in fact rework it, as much as they could, while still maintaining that level of excellence with new visuals on new hardware.

The fact is, if you compare the AI to games such as LFS etc, you are not being fair, because they are in fact in a completely different category. They have MUCH more powerful processors than both PS1 or PS2 had, so naturally they were able to do much more, same goes for Xbox.

So while you didn't notice any changes, there were some. Especially in the dept. of tire wear/ pit relationship of the AI, as well as the driving ability of the AI under poor tire conditions. If you watch your Bspec-Driver (which is essentially the games AI) when the tires are wearing, you will notice that the lap times become slower, because the driver is in turn being more cautious, and it effects his lap times.

So, while there are still flaw's in the system, it is improved over that of GT1, GT2, and barely any difference between GT3.

Now, given the MUCH more powerful jump from PS2 to PS3 than there was from PS1 to PS2...we can *hopefully* expect better AI.

I can agree with that for the most part, but I think while PD are so very, very good at graphics, modelling, physics ect they should probably go the route of getting a professions AI team lto because I doubt their capabilities in this area. Look at Codemasters, they've been delivering good AI since the PS1, ToCA 1 won't be much compared to games now but for it's day it was great, I know Race driver 2 doesn't push the PS2 overall as much as GT4 but the people that coded the AI in games like that could work wonders for the GT series. Thats pretty much the only big gripe I have with GT4, you need an underpowered car for a close race and then the AI just drives into you on corners, the rest of the game while lacking new ideas barring photomode (which I really like) is still very good, it's the best GT so far. But with it being the best GT, the flaws simply become more prominent when you notice them.

I would have preferred graphics below GT3 but above GT2 with more game features, AI and online.

Graphics are very important, but when the game is flawed in gameplay it gets boring, fast. GT3 is probably one of the most boring 'big' titles I've ever played. GT2 was buggy but I still enjoyed it and GT1 was great for the time. GT4 is what GT3 should have been, but not what GT4 should have been.

5th time lucky ;)

thats true... GT1 was really fun to play with friends and alone as well. i never forget when i played 2 player with my friends at high speed ring with the corvette stingrays!!!! :D but i think its really fun to drift in GT3! I still do it sometimes. I have a feeling of that GT5 will be the funiest car game ever though, and i hope I'm right!

 yeah, the Stingrays always were a bit too fast in arcade mode. Ahhh in my mind GT1 still looks damn realistic (as in when I first saw it)... which is why I have to stop myself from playing it and reminded that these days it looks like crap. GT1s car line up seemed fairly balanced amongst the manufacturers, true there weren't many non-Japanese cars but they were treated more as exotics and atleast Nissan wasn't all dominating.

GT5 might be great if only they remember about the small issue called gameplay whilst there tarting up the graphics ;) Although if GT5 doesn't have improved AI, I may just about give up on it.

Lets just hope u are right, lets hope that gt5 will be as memorable as gt1 was, and lets hope that there will be more achievments than dissapointments.

well, i really hope someone at PD watch this forum sometimes... that would be really usefull for the company i think, cause GT4 was a big dissapointment for me. they only things i like are the graphics and to drive around nurburgring with a fast
car... well the physics are pretty good to (with DFP). 2 player sucks, no damage, no tire marks, the AI sucks and no racing modifications... (these are the things I am dissapointed at)

Hello people
A weird thought had hit my head not too long ago and i was wondering. Do u think PD could be watching this site....for ideas, new concepts, new cars to put in the GT5 or just to see how many of us that cant wait for GT5. I kno its wierd but...they could be reading up on this site, or other GT forums.

What do u people think......

I hope they do. Maybe they'd actually change some of the annoyances that have been in the other gt's ( no paintshop, car customization, Exotics.) :grumpy:  :dopey:
