Just before people start slagging me off, I love GT, and would have still got my PS3 even if it was the only game out!! BUT

When ever you do anything in the game, it says are you sure and you have to press X, then you have to press X again just to say OK,and then it saves WTF. In GT4 it tuck ages to upgrade your car because of this!!

Why can't it save in the background??
They seem to like having boxes pop up for everything it does, Saving, Load bar. Are you sure, YES. OK press X.

It might seem like i'm picking at some thing small but if you're upgrading a car and have to go through the same, yes, yes, yes button pressing from GT4 i'll be well pi$$ed:scared:

Yeah, i thought all the popus were annoying and time consuming... lets hope they made it easier to do stuff and like s15specr said, easy navigation from any menu.

I agree wid this. Just like you should be able to access the garage in arcade and event mode.

Ditto. I wish I had a quick access to the car list like we do on online events before entering a track instead of having to go back to the main board to choose a car first (and be forced to see it in the showroom) before going into arcade mode.

I wouldnt mind u being able to add decals to the car and spoilers. But that's about it. Ohh and I really wished PD worked better on the loading times, PLEASE!!

I don't want to see penalties inflicted on me for other drivers mistakes, also i don't want to see body kits and big spoilers that are not available to the actual car in the real world, and i do not want to see the grass areas being used as part of the track.

You kind of missed the point of the thread there...

I don't want to see useless cars.

They still need to sort the collision physics out, I know its not finished yet but all the other cars are on rails. They still barge you out of the way if your side by side and on the racing line..

I'm already in a doubt they will do it. AI is still playing different game than you. They are braking, accelerating and driving through the corner in completely another and simplier physical engine, perhaps even simplier than standard physics. As a result, when you are tight in the car group, they brake when you need to accelerate and they accelerate in the place where you just can't get in corner.

When you slam into them, they just drive without being disturbed. But when they slam into you, you are immediately deeply in the sand. And when you stay in the middle of the corner, most of AI cars will slam into you. So where's any progress? In this area GT5p is just the same ast past GT games. Only minor tweaks were done. AI routines must be completely rewritten in way of learning from real players and drivers, this way the wash-machine-intelligent competition is no fun.

And collision physics is similar tale, the same funny rubbing again instead of real crash and bounce physics. Rubbing the wall after crash instead of reverse and drive away is still in place like it was in 1998. It's more important than visual damage to do the right crash physics.

We already have next-gen car models, half-next-gen car physics (correct tyre simulation and deformation still isn't in, race slicks are less abrupt in traction loss than street and sports tyres), half-next-gen tracks (yes, in HD, pretty tarmac, but texture, detail and lightning of the surrounding isn't on par with cars, just few visible layer of primitive textured grass, really awful trees) and really past gen AI and colission system. Sounds are not next-gen at all, they still sound too generic, for example M3 had no upper rev sound, just plain and generic sounding speeded up sample from about 3000 revs.

It's bear upon PS3 hardware and we can say already now that this machine would need less processor power, more graphical power and memory.

So we will see in full game how they'll resolve those problems.

well you can set off the auto save, wich helps a bit, but you need to remember to do it yourself then;)

the AI in race must be better, i don't need an online mode in gtr evolution as racing against the AI is great fun!
and i don't like to see drag racing:scared:

In GT4 the time it takes adding upgrades to your car is showing the time it takes to install the upgrade. It's a simulation of time taken. If you don't want it to do that select no when the game asks you if you want to install it and it won't do it. You can then add the part in question yourself when you are back in your garage or on a race screen.

That hardly counts as a fault you hope doesn't show up in GT5.

It's the Hare and Tortoise entrants in a race that is the single biggest issue I hope isn't carried over. GT5P arcade mode does not fill me with confidence.

beautifully said 👍

Luckily we're only playing prologue so far. Don't get me wrong, I love prologue, and if the graphics stayed the same for GT5, I'd be pretty happy...however, I do think there will be improvements.

One thing to add to that....if PD is going to add damage, they sure as hell better improve the AI more than it already has.

So the one thing I don't want.....I don't want tuned Dodge Vipers to sound less beefy than a stock Suzuki Swift! :yuck:

Agree 100% they need to do everything possible to make the user interface as smooth and fast as possible. Have options to turn off the things that ask for you to confirm. When I buy a car very rarely do I want to get in it right than. Let me buy all the parts I want and pay for them all at once. Of course I want the parts installed otherwise I would not be buying them.
When in arcade or just doing record laps let me get to my garage as soon as I exit out of the race. Please Please only have one hp number displayed or explain why they are differnt in differnt menus. Do not give us cars that we can not race (at least in arcade). Do not restrict us to 2 lap family cup races, since this is basicaly arcade let us choose 2, 5, 10, 15 or up to 25 laps. What ever arcade mode they include, please let us use cars from our garage in single player arcade races. Do not restrict the online races to preset races instead give us as many options as possible for creating the races. Do not force us to race for 24 hours without saving the race. Do not divide the majority of the game by country this severly limits how many races you can enter a certain class of car in. However manufactures events are okay. Please try and utilize more of the tracks in the race events. Please try and utlize at least 75% or more of the cars in race events. GT4 was and is a great game with the best car selection out of any car game. Sadly though little things here and there kept GT4 from being much better than it was. For me no single play replay in two player arcade and lack of race events for certain cars limited the overall character of the game. In essence what I am saying is that they should full strive to make the most use of what they have. Then they need to optimize everything so that each time you play GT5 it maintains the original excitement for as long as possible.

I agree about the car upgrading system. It needs to move a lot faster than it did in GT4. If push comes to shove there could be pre-fab tuning "packages" like NFS to make things a little easier for thick people who don't know what exactly a port polish does but want some extra HP, handling, etc. for their car.

And I don't want to see Autosave on all the time. Maybe I'd just like to save my game when I feel like it, not when I switch cars by default?

Dont want to see the carwash,& oil change a little unessary imo.:sly:
Yeah, that's your opinion.

The car wash makes the car more aerodynamic and oil changes keeps your engine in good shape, so I don't see why they're unnecessary. In fact they're realistic details IMO. ;)

You know you can switch autosave OFF, right?

So far from the GT TUNE cars seems they are going more for race looks.
Yeah, fortunately. 👍

Yes I realize all that but at the same time its an unnessary step in a game without realistic damage.:)

Don't need 22" wheels with spinners , neon kits , too Need for Speedish :yuck:

I don't think we will see spinners, I doubt PD would put developing effort into them. Maybe some large chromies to give our Lexus's the VIP look if we wish but I think all wheels will be mostly Japanese and quality brand name stuff (eg BBS, Enkei, RAYS/VOLK etc)

Hopefully American Racing too.........

I dont want exclusive/uniques cars in Gold Licences!

To obtain all the gold licences in GT sometimes is very dificult and take a lots of time . . . and people who do not have patience as some of my friends just quit os this fantastic machines!

I think all cars should be purchased in the manufacturer/online/used stock etc or by prize of race.

In my opinion the reward of Licences should be only in $ $ $.

Gold licenses are in reach of most average drivers, those unique cars are an incentive to become better drivers. I know trying to get golds in GT4 helped me become a far better driver.
