Things I don't want to see in GT5...

I dont want races that you have to spend money to buy a car only to win the same car as the prize e.g. Toyota Yaris race and the 2CV race

(Flame suit on). I would add myself to the list of people who don't want to see more slow cars in GT5. Sorry to all the peeps that like driving painfully slow cars around for a "good time," but if I wanted a cruise around town simulation, I'd pop in GTA and call it a day.

Fair enough, but I play GT to have a good time, and driving 50hp sub-compacts on world class race tracks is not exactly my idea of a good time. The REAL driving simulator. Now I've changed the meaning of GT's slogan entirely, and I tend to think my interpretation of their slogan has more to do with what the game is really about. When GT1 first came out, there were hardly any sim driving/racing (whatever you wanna call it) games on the market, and the game's real selling point was the physics engine. Racers are drivers too, they're just really fast and talented drivers 💡

The thing is though, you have to start small and work your way up to the fast cars, and of course you don't have to start off with a 50hp car, there are quicker starter cars. Of course there are race series' that make you use the slower cars, but then again not everyone will be happy with various races they have to do.

It's just like in Midnight Club 3, in order to get 100% you have to race with bikes. Well I don't like racing with bikes, but I would have to so I could complete the game.

Course I did never complete the game, but that's beside the point! :P

Of course it's besides the point. The main objective for playing any game should always be having a good time. I don't think I've ever reached 100% in any GT game, but I know I've done all the stuff that would be entertaining to me in game.

As many have said many times before the more features that GT has the better off the game will be. Meaning "B-spec" and other things. As long as you are not forced to use the feature than how does that impact your personal enjoyment of the game. For the most part GT is open ended, meaning you create your own path in the game. In GT4 once you complete a race series, unless you reset that series you do not win a car again. Want more challenge than use equal or less powered cars in the event your are entering. I agree though that rewards should be spread out and more equally across all events. Also do not give us cars that can not be raced or sold for cash in 10 race events or endurances races. For that matter all cars should be able to race at least in arcade and all cars should be able to be sold for cash value.

For events please limit the country restrictions. If this restriction was not in GT4 we would have a lot more events to compete in.

The funny thing is that drifting isnt a section of the game its just how you setup your car and drive it, has nothing to do with 'silly looking' cars etc, as you can drift with any car you like provided the setup is right.
Even though I dont drift meself I think the points system is a good idea!
(GT5P does have a drift-point-system? I have no clue)

What I dont like to see is motorbikes, boats, airplanes, bicycles, skateboards, trolleys and so forth.

Also things I dont want to see in the game is cars that you cannot compete with, sure the Auto-Union was awesome in GT4, but the fact that you only could race it at two or three tracks all alone kinda spoiled it for me.

That happens because the computer isn't able to process it as your fault or not because it can't read your mind.

Well then add admins that spectates the race live and call the penalty, just like in a real race, problem solved? :dunce:

Not really because then you either have to have properly employed admins who will need to be paid which would mean we would need to pay for the online or you have random admins selected and then you have human error and in some cases I wouldn't put it past them just being idiots. There's no easy solution to ths. The best solution is probably a decent damage engine but even that won't completely stop the idiots it will at least limit them to the first corner or so of the race.

I do not want to see the game with no damage in it!
I do not want to see the game with no private rooms and lobbies.
I do not want to see Matchmaking only for online gaming
I do not want to see that Day/Night cycles and weather effects did not make it in
I do not want to see that Porsche, Lambo, and other good car manufacturers did not make it in
I do not want to see the game if that you can not customize your car by decals, body parts, paint, wheels, etc..

I don't want to see lame, unrealistic physics as the most realistic option

I don't want to see the online 'rubberband effect'

I don't want to see cars that have to be bought or unlocked

I don't want to see tracks that have to be bought or unlocked

I don't want to see cars that have to be bought or unlocked

What do you mean by that? Yeah I do not like to Unlock cars, they should all be unlocked for you to buy..
You won't wan to see cars that have to be bought? hmm?

He might mean he doesn't want to see cars and tracks that have to be purchased as downloadable content.

Things I hope not to find:
-Cars' horsepowers changing in different screens/ modes
-Excessive number of similar cars (R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec, R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II, R34 Skyline GT-R Nur, R34 Skyline GT-R Nur II, R34 Skyline GT-R M.N.P, etc) A GT-R and a GT-R V-Spec is enough
-All aforementioned significant weird things
-Cars that do not tangibly exist (Nike concept)
-The fact that the digit "276" appears for many HP levels. I've seen this since GT1
-The multiple race-prep variants for cars ) much like the 4 or 5 Super GT Supras at the end of the Toyota line up all having 463 H, with the exception of the blue WOODONE car which has 493. Seriously, I'd say that none of these values are the same.
- Cars' fuel gauges run at the same rate, regardless of the car type.

Thats just a wish list.... with double negatives.

280PS (276hp) was the Japanese gentlemans agreement power limit, many of the Japanese sports cars were officially rated at 276hp but in reality it was obvious that a fair few creeped over.

So when you see the official Specs at 276hp that the correct 'official' number but usually not the correct real number which you find out later in your garage.

Speaking of which, how did they figure out how much each car really made? Did they guess or go off some sort of tests done? Also the GNX was only rated at 206kw (I don't think Buick officially rated it), yet made more in real life obviously because of a 5.0sec 0-100km/hr time, makes you wonder.....

Rolling road ;)

Or an engine dynometer if your looking for power at the crack. :D

Of course when you say how would they find out, are you talking about the company or a potential customer?

Things I won't want:
- Undamageable cars
- Unbalanced prize money. In past GTs you got very little for doing long endurance races yet 5minute races could get you 50k each go.
- Fast progression, I don't want to be able to buy a Ferrari after 2 hours of play time.
- Drift mode, GT has always been about serious racing, this stuff belong in NFS.
- Drag mode same as above
- NFS things like neon lights, car stickers and other useless crap

I also worry about downloadable content, hopefully the GT makers won't sell us out and try and sell us new tracks or cars for $2.95 instead of just including them for free.

I don't know how or where exactly they get their numbers from, but with accelerometers data and vehicle specs you can get a pretty good idea of engine output without putting the car or engine on a dyno.

Some people are talking about dynos, which is exactly what's on my mind.

GT1 and GT2 had specific and detailed dyno graphs for engine power & torque & gearing. GT3 they TOTALLY GOT RID OF THEM. And in GT4 they brought the power/torque dyno results & gearing, back but they're useless...just a couple squiggly lines but no grid to base them on. :banghead:

So i don't want to see PD slack on putting graphs back in the game, or making them half-baked. 👎

I think i read somewhere that GT5P has graphs again, but nobody has been able to tell me whether or not they're useful.

Correction: NFS has been and always will be, about illegal Street racing, not drifting. Also, GT is a "driving sim", not a race sim. While I agree that sometihng as useless as Neon Lights shoudn't be included, I'm not sure I agree about car stickers(assuming you mean decals) after looking at a game like Grid.

I don't want to see a game which called perfect but lacks features. What I mean is- Kaz calls GT 'Perfect' when the only perfect thing about GT is graphics- GT lacks so many things which other games like Forza Motorsport have such as, brake glow, sparks, decals / painting / livery editor, more deep down modding (insted of weight reduction i would love to have it so each thing is done seperate such as, light steering wheels, racing seats, carbon fibre dashboards / bonents / boot lids)- would work great with the interior view..., engine swaps(but tell us it in car name: 2002 Nissan Silvia S15 spec r (skyline gt-r engine)) and more of that sort of thing. No dis-respect to Kaz, PD and the rest of the team behind GT but I fell the game is very Half-Arsed in many aspects.

If you look at comments on www.youtube.com there is things forza and gt fanboys say to each other, the only things the GT fanboys can say is 'GT has the best graphics' 'GT has the best physics' which in my opinion I think is true but the point am trying to make is simple, GT is the best in some aspects and the worst in others (online am looking at you)

Thanks for reading this post, feel free to express your opinions on this.

That seems rather minor to the game really since its only an opinion and in particular his, not a statement of truth. At that moment, GT is perfect according to him whereas to you currently, GT is not perfect. Its only opinion.

Yeah but what i mean is GT has to live up to the customers standards as well as PD's. I after reading these forums I feel many, many people feel the same way I do.

Only GT5P is lacking brake glow and sparks for now, I fully expect them to be back in GT5.

And to be honest I would rarther no brake glow at all than they way Forza does it.

I don't want to see rally get left out for drift "racing". I have yet to see a pic of rally racing GT5 and it is starting to worry me. Rally racing is one of the funnest things about the GT series. I don't have a problem with drift "racing" but it's not as important as Rally racing.

Also I quoted "racing" after drift since it's more of a competition than a race.

We really have seen hardly anything from GT5, we dont get any screenies or anything, unlike how it was when waiting for GT4.

Though I remember KY saying in a interview Rally will return and maybe some special stages too.
