im trying to get gold on everything i can yet this game makes it near impossible to gold anything for me. all i get is bronze. try YouTube to find answers on certain things and no one gives settings or what they using controller/wheel. i might as well put myself in the hospital.

I'm on a pad and I too think it's impossible to gold everything. What are you struggling with?

I agree that some of the times seem to be a bit strange....
last night I was on Suzuka, a track I know well and one of my favourites, the first sector of circuit experience was a right pain; took at least 15 attempts to get bronze on a wheel!

All I can suggest is practice and note where you're losing time, plus don't try for gold on all circuits at first; you will get quicker with practice but 'grinding' through a circuit experience sector can cause frustration. Take a break and try the sector again fresh.....

Just practice more, there is plenty of margin for the gold times apart from sector 5 Le Mans circuit experience which takes a bit longer. The rest are easy golds within the first couple of tries using a DS5 no assists.

No need to be using assists or brake balance settings or using ghosts, just drive faster.

I can understand that, but please remember it's a game. Some tasks are really very difficult, so that sometimes even very good A drivers have their hard work and hardship to do it quite quickly.
And there is the problem - it's a game. A game that everyone has paid equal money for and therefore should have an equal chance of gaining all the rewards. This isn't real life GT such as the Academy where you are fighting for a life changing win. A game should bring joy and pleasure, not drive some one to the brink of fury to smash their own property!

Sorry, but that statement is, well... If you can't create gold because your skills aren't good enough, then the game can't help it. It offers opportunities for almost every imaginable player to achieve their goals, but it is probably logical that the most difficult tasks are not just possible for everyone. So please, of course it is and will remain a game, but what do you want? Adjustable difficulties with the exams like licenses and CE? So that really every driver can get gold? What's next... should everyone who participates get gold at the Olympics?

Sorry mate but the problem is in chair not in computer as the saying goes.

Buying a game doesn't give you automatic right to gold every thing without challenge, it gives you the opportunity to, with practice, if you have the skill to do so. All bronzes are more than atainable for every player and allow progression through the game. Golds are there for the best players and are something to be earned and aspired to, I don't see how this is controversial at all.

a game should challenge you and push you to get better. I got app 70% gold by now, and likely i will not be good enough to go to a full 100%. but the fun is in trying and trying and trying and finally getting a result.
Or even the frustration that you can not get it by .003 of a second is fun in a way.
Anyway, anyone a bit capable of driving should easily get bronze...

when one experiences rage and fury because you are not getting the result you need then perhaps Animal Crossing is a more suitable game for those...

Sorry but your statement is, well. . . I've golded and completed every single GT game in the past with no problems. Ive struggled with many on 7 though and thought it may be me getting a bit older and not reacting as fast. So i went back into GT Sport and did some tests, missions etc. I beat all my old times with no problem telling me ive improved. So save your condescdnding replies and understand instead that its a genuine problem for some.

There is a demo ghost that will show you where you are going wrong - although there's usually no need to try and beat that ghost as it is usually well within the gold time. You can watch their replay as well to understand where you are going wrong.

I agree with you that GT7 is a lot more difficult then previous games but in my opinion it really should be. I got every challenge, experience and license in gold in GT Sport and to be honest; I am not that good of a driver. No way in hell i am A level. Still got all gold...

in GT7 i struggle a lot to get gold or even silver. And that is way it should be. It should be a challenge that only the best can accomplish, and i am not among them. But i will keep on trying...

thats funny, animal crossing lmao. who doesn't get mad or upset when they fail their goal? i will eventually get it but i can have emotions like any human. its my body, mind and property so ill do what i please.

Let’s assume the difficulty is such that you can beat gold by let’s say 0.1s on average. There are players out there that will be able to beat gold by even more than they can just now! If they can beat the game comfortably without any effort whatsoever, it’s going to get pretty boring for them pretty quick! In my opinion there are plenty missions and tests that are really easy to beat the gold time on a controller, and plenty that are a genuine challenge (for me at least) and as others have said - that’s the whole fun part of the game!!

Just a wee side note: I find it really interesting that there are some people who have golded things that I can’t get close to, but struggled with things I managed no problem on my first try!!

Where and at what point have I NOT admitted that some tasks may be a little more difficult or very difficult? Have I written anywhere in any post here throughout the forum that all tasks are easy? Prove this to me and I'll take this post down immediately. I would NEVER say anything like that!!

BUT it's perfectly fine for me and many others when there are tasks that are really hard. And a little tip especially referring to your examples. You write you've already gotten better at GTS, apparently due to the much more challenging driving in GT7.. and if YOU keep practicing you can do it too if YOU really want to (and you're not handicapped by physical limitations).

So please, don't try to accuse ME of something I've never written and accept for YOU that YOU still have to practice a lot if you want everything to be gold.

It is difficult. I have spent about an hour or two on Cataluyna Cicruit Experience stage 3 alone and have just cracked it now. Go figure I do the full lap on my 1.5st attempt.

If you want to get gold in everything, you can do it, it just won't come overnight. The first time I attempted Gold in all the license tests back in GT2 days, it took me more than a month. Now I think they are too easy.

It isn't controller settings, or car settings. You set the controls up for how you would like, whatever makes you the most comfortable. If you aren't getting the times, it is because you are doing something wrong. You need to analyse what you are doing, where you may be doing it wrong and adjust, or try different things and see how you go against your ghost.

I find a lot of time is made up on corner entry. Not late braking, but braking early enough that the car is setup for the best exit possible. Corner exit is all about how the car was setup before the apex, and it isn't always that obvious when you are hard on the brakes thinking you are maximizing your speed into the corner, where it is actually costing twice as much time on corner exit.

For reference, my controller settings are.
Dual Sense
Controller Steering Sensitivity: 7
Vibration: Default
Buttons: Default

I use triggers for brake/accel, and I never use both brake and accel at same time. As I right foot brake on a wheel, I replicate that with the controller.

I do use stick extensions, kontrol freeks for a bit more control on steering.

Assist Settings:
Everything 0, disabled, incl ABS.

Edit: Also I find if I can't beat a task, taking a break, coming back an hour later or the next day helps a lot. Breaking a controller never helps, as satisfying as it may be in the moment.

Pad user here.. Nothing is impossible. I'm a pretty weak B/C rated driver, but got gold on all licenses and not working my way with CE.
I even use automatic transmission, TC1 and ABS, but for the S10 license I cranked it up to TC3 I believe.

The best lesson I took in GT7 was the Catalunya CE. It really helps you in applying throttle without spinning all the time, it can been done on a controller!

Are you one those parents who tells their kids they can be anything or anyone they want to be & sends them to a school where no one wins at the school sports day but all the kids get a medal just for taking part? 🤣

Just by the way, against pent-up frustration, gardening helps or washing and polishing your own vehicle..... I've tried it, it works. OK, something else is also possible.. but that only concerns my wife and me ;P

You can add me on PSN JJ_EAST_10

We can do them at the same time and that might help us push each other to get golds.

This gives me hope. I was thinking is it possible for a pad user on auto gearing to gold S10?

I'm not trying to brag but got gold on S10 in half an hour, just know how to stay in the dry and you will get it. I had some harder licenses, for example the one on Le Mans with the Nissan R390.

It seems like PD have set these target times at around low DR A/high DR B pace, players with lower ratings can still hit the times but it's more of a grind, that's the whole point to make it a challenge but much more accessible than the Hamilton time trials on GTS. Don't worry if you can't hit gold on them all, it's not game breaking and their are other ways which are just as good for making money since the latest update.
