This is shocking.

My aunt showed me this email. It's really sad that this is actually going on.

Here is the email:

Pass The Butter .... Please.

This is interesting . ... .

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.

It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavourings....
DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?
Read on to the end...gets very interesting!
Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams; compared to 5 grams for margarine.
Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few and only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine..
Very High in Trans fatty acids.
Triples risk of coronary heart disease ...
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
Increases the risk of cancers up to five times..
Lowers quality of breast milk
Decreases immune response
Decreases insulin response.
And here's the most disturbing fact... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!
Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC... And shares 27 ingredients with PAINT

These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

Open a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has nonutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic . Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

(Bob & I actually did this experiment by putting it in the garage and after a week it dried up and felt like plastic)

Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to butter them up')!

Chinese Proverb:
When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.
Pass the BUTTER PLEASE

That is really fascinating. Great read and I have sent the text to as many people in my e-mail contacts as possible

Being one molecule away from plastic does not neccessarily mean it has any property of plastic, but the nutritional (or lack thereof) facts, if true, mean I will only consume butter from now on.

My aunt sent me this. I guess I got excited when I saw this but this might not be true. I'm sorry if this was a waste of time.

Edit: I did some research and the Plastic part is fake..

Crap dude!!

Thank goodness I don't eat Margarine or Butter.I just never wanted to touch the stuff.

You don't want to know what I use margarine for. :scared:

This is an amazing Email. We should all take appropriate action. Oh wait, a member of the Royal Family in Nigeria have just sent me an Email. Oooh yeah, I'm rich! I am rich now, I don't need all you 🤬 butter using...... I'm rich!

Being one molecule away from plastic can be a world of difference. Ethane is just an oxygen bond away from alcohol (ethanol). But you wouldn't notice any all the features of ethane in your drink. Yes, the nutritional stuff doesn't make pleasant reading indeed.

First Jell-o is ground bones, then meat taken from bones AKA "Pink Slime" and then this thing... Next thing you know is we are eating only pills and synthetic water...

Yeah, right, we are all gonna die .

We use it in my house all the time and that stuff in the email must be crap. During high school I was only off school for 1 week (during the whole 5 years) and that was a holiday. So my immune system is definitely fine also in 20 years no one in my family has had heart disease of cancer (just family in my house).

I just happened to think this was true at first but I have realised my mistake.

I just happened to think this was true at first but I have realised my mistake.

No worries.

And even if it were, if we seriously knew everything about some of the food we eat everyday, we wouldn't eat at all.

Except even bits if that are wrong or outdated.

Marg has been around for over 100 years - it was invented in 1869, and most Marg has substantially reduced or removed Trans-fats since the late '90s either because of a legal requirement (some European countries) or simply to keep people buying them.

Remove the trans-fat and may of the negatives of that email also go.

I just happened to think this was true at first but I have realised my mistake.

It wasn't directed at you, more like all the people that freak out at the advances on food industry. All I say is:

Most of the story behind food (or any biology question, for that matter) is actually unpleasant. Deal with it, hippies.

I personally prefer butter, but we always buy margarine because it is cheaper, and slightly healthier. I still think butter tastes better. It's all a matter of personal preference at the end of the day.
