Is it me or the road cars in PCars are basically undrivable?
I've been fooling around with some roadies and tires are disgusting. No grip at all. Doesn't matter if it's a Pagani or a BMW 1

they are I drivable at race car speeds, you really have to slow down a ton to get control out of them. also they all have really bad default tire pressures and tires that don't hold thier hear well

Well this is what i have posted on various forums looking for help. If I am unable to resolve my driving days are done.

I have PS4, a T300 with G27 pedals. I am using the Thrustmaster Wheel to Logitech Pedal Adapter .

The problem is the brake pedal randomly engages. Any where from 5-10% up to full 100%. Sometimes the gas stays at my input and other times the brakes goes full and the throttle goes to zero, even when I still have 100% full throttle. This happens for split seconds at a time. I used the HUD display and can see the brake pedal randomly engaging , the throttle going to zero. If you were driving behind me in a race you would swear I was brake checking you. I have tried on numerous tracks, numerous cars, quick mode, solo mode and online mode. Anyone have this happen to them?

This is what I have done to trouble shot the issue.

Unplugged wheel, yes I do have the switch on PS4.
Recalibrated the wheel and pedals.
Unplugged pedal adapter
I took apart the G27 pedals thinking it was the Potentiometers. Instead of cleaning the brake pedal, I switched out my full clutch pedal assembly with my broken brake assembly. I rarely have used the clutch, prefer paddles. So the clutch potentiometer is basically new.

I tried my PS3 with GT6 and the pedals work fine, not one issue. ????

I then tried PS4, Drive Club and again the peddles worked fine. ???
I need some help.
I am open to any and all ideas to fix this issue.

I just got home from work and the update in process. Its saying it will take 30 mins to complete. That said, I will open the lobby as soon as its finished installing

Well, after 20 mins only at 1.239gb downloaded and it says it will take over an hour to finish. Based on this, I will not make it tonight and will need someone else to host. Please send me the results.

Thanks and sorry guys

When did this start happening? I hope there is a solution for you soon. missed you on the track

In your shoes I would grab the T300 pedals back, open it to put better springs specially on the breake pedal and start saving money for better stuff. That's exactly what im doing right now ;)

Started on Monday as I was finally getting some practice.

Schmiggz I hear you, Been pricing the T3pa-pro. I will try the original pedals and try to find some material for better resistance.

My pedals may be broken, but the rest of me is doing fine. Just amazing what the medical field can accomplish these days.

Well I connected the original pedals and no change. Still problems. Makes me me wonder if the whole setup is fried. ??

Any thoughts?

I wonder if the calibration of the pedals is causing it. For example, I have calibrated my wheel but NEVER have done the pedals. I remember readin early on that it was causing issue with the clutch so I never did. Even to this day I have never calibrated the pedals. Try resetting the wheel and setting to stock and do everything except the pedals

@GGGMotorsport thanks for the input, tried and did not help. I have since done the following,

I did rebuild the database. still same problem.

updated firm ware to V25, same problem.
plugged in the original Thrusmaster T300 pedals, still same problem.
used a controller to make sure issue not with wheel or cables, same problem.

The adapter is from Ricmotech, I talked to them last night, no circuits in the adapted, only rewiring tongle. Gave me trouble shooting info, again same problem.

Have you tried re-install Pcars. I remember back on the PS2, my brakes would start dragging when playing GT4 using a DFGT and if I switched games to TOCa 3 or better known as RACEDRIVER 3. I had no issues with brake pedal. TOCa 3 is and will forever be better then any Grand Tourism game. I'm just thinking it's maybe the game and not the wheel or pedals.

I am now leaning towards a re-install. Holding out for any other ideas. Not looking forward to deleting all my tunes.

I started to try and write down all my tunes, yet each car has a different tune per track, well you get the idea how long that would take.

Awesome race guys - At Spa im not sure how i was 1.5sec faster then 2nd? I seen ONESpace had a 2'14 (3 sec's off, didnt have a clean lap?). At he start i got tangled up in the wreck then a few laps later i was catching up and hit one of those green pole things and flipped sideways in front of Schmigg's, when i landed my car seemed to have something caught under the front end. I didnt have a "Reset" button set so that ended my race, i couldnt move.

Race 2 - Was just mistake after mistake, the 1st corner and last corner curbing i kept spinning on, and would of finished 3rd but Stone spun there with 2-3 laps to go and i couldnt catch ONESPACE after that.

Grim, i think you have the points setup backwards (does it matter?). I finished near the back @ Spa, and 2nd at the other track.

@SGETI I believe if you uninstall the game itself it only deletes the game, not your save file too. I know the game data and save data are separated, or should be. If you have a USB External HDD or any USB flash drive that has enough space to copy your save to try that before you do a reinstall that way your save is still there.

Don't you dare lose your setups, I need those. LOL
I wasn't almost able to race last week either. About two hours before race time I was having problems with the game disc not staying in the PS4. Kept spitting the disc back out at me.
I went on the web and found the solution, I had to pull the little rubber foot out of the PS4, I guess it was getting in the way of the disc sensor. Wish your issue was an easier fix like mine was.

I messed up both of my qualifying laps at Spa on the same corner lol. I try and only do a couple laps of qualifying, just so I have a little more tire left when it gets towards the end of the race.
Good Championship win. Can't wait till next season.

Full wipe of Pcars and re-install.

That was the solution to my problem.

In the scheme of things in life, losing my video game data is no big deal, not the worst thing to happen to me this month or even the whole year. Just another bump in the road of life.

APPRECIATE all who took the time to try and help me resolve this issue.

you get a fresh set of tires at the start of the race, but great real world thinking

LOL Stone, dont tell him! I think he's right, the tires carry over....hehehe.

hey, he was my main compitition this series and now that we are going to spec racing I'm probably heading to the back of the pack. "keep your friends close and your rivals closer"
