Okay, this is my new tune for now, it still needs a bit of refining but I think it is an improvement, let me know what you think. 👍

FGT Setup 002 by BanditKarter, on Flickr

Clean oil, no aids.
To get the gears, reset to default, set max speed to minimum then set final and 1st-7th gears.

I did 1:10.899 with it but was a scruffy lap.

Thanks for sharing your tune.
I hope to get a better lap time with it.
Bandit, are you TC_TaylorSwift13?

Thank you. 👍

Bugga, was just about to write a two page essay on it.

Oh well, I'll have another crack at Motegi instead.

edit...Well, glad I did that. Switched to pmjg's loaner (thanks for that) and have taken off .8 sec and over 600 places, now at pos # 431. That's 1:34.707.

And that's that for now.

I will work on it right now 👍

What a pain to shift the Suburu at around 6-6500 rpm, how do you guys do it? Looking at rev meter? or sound...really takes getting used to

So here is my tune for the 22b. Basically, this car is not the car to be using on this seasonal. The Impreza WRX STI '10 is the car to use. The 22b needs a lot of turning with the brakes, so it won't fit everyone's driving style. No front aero kills the car's handling on a circuit like this. Still turns good times and feels very stable on the higher speed corners. Anyway, here it is.

For what it's worth I always shift by the sound. Think the only time I would ever shift by the tacho is if short shifting is recommended.

Cheers.

Thanks, was watching yinato's lap, every shift was like 6500 exactly...or was it 7..anyway same each time. I have to look with this car to be so exact.

He is so good that he would know exactly when the optimum time to shift is, and I doubt he would be looking at the dash to do so.

Not sure you need to shift at exactly the same rpm in 'every situation' in any case.

Trial and error probably rules here where we are concerned, but your ear soon becomes accustomed to when to change.

edit.........OK, update at Motegi. Improved to 1:34.260...pos 289.

Now if I can just keep that position for the next two weeks I'll be as happy as Larry. But I'm not betting my testimonials on it happening.

edit, I have been up over 3 tenths during the lap so I know there is still room for improvement.

But not now.

No problem mate. I plan to do a tune for the WRX STI '10 another day. 👍

Although those were nice, I was unable to get as good of results as I get when we can tune. I am a tuner so I usually can do pretty well.

I have equal results in both formats so it doesn't really matter to me which format is used, I just like the extra depth of tuning my cars. I'll gladly forfeit the ability to tune tho for a cheat free TT. If thats what it takes to keep people from cheating, then bring on the PD supplied cars.

I'm starting to miss the no-tuning TTs :(

well, look at it from the bright side, most GTP'ers will share their tunes to help out the others. That's what I like around here. And if you don't find a set-up that suits your driving style, you're sure to find one as more tunes surface.
So let's use this post as a thank you to all tuners that share their set-ups and allow people like me to be that bit more competitive 👍

I agree. How hard would it be for PD to run a tuned and SPEC TT simultaneously for each event with different Leaderboards?

PD haven't done anything yet, the one in 2nd with "comfort softs" on appears to be using the same tyres as me from the replay but he must have came up with a cunning way to depurchase the sports hards that come with the car, his FGT also has suspiciously good traction on the other TT. TTs are worthless as long as this sort of thing is even remotely possible, I woke to an inbox full of hate messages this morning. :ouch:

Just going backwards now, found a tenth and a half in the first 2 sectors but until somebody posts up a Subaru '10 tune (even just power/weight settings) I think that's all I can get. :(

EDIT: To prove how bad I am at tuning I just put the stock suspension and LSD back on and ran a time only .2 slower than my current best.

Wish they would. Had my best results with PD Supplied cars than Tuning TT. Guess a clear sign I suck at tuning

Well, what did you expect, honestly. I don't want to get back on the subject again as I have already said everything I wanted to say, but my best advice to you in the future is, just because someone else is cheating, doesn't mean you have to follow that same path. Its better to finish 2nd, 3rd, etc without cheating than it is finishing 1st by cheating and losing the respect of your peers.

I am wonderng how much faster Peasantslayer went with the cheat? And the bad thing is...only the 1st 10 you can see their vids. ? Who knows how many are actually using some form of cheating
