Wow Doodle thats great! I am almost 3 seconds quicker with the bus 136.7xx but feel i have hit my limit with it, any good tunes for the 69 camaro ? I have tried the one posted here but cant break 1.39.5 :grumpy:

Thanks killer and Moose. And yea, you'd be surprised what a change of atmosphere can do to one's well being. 👍 Glad to be finally out of that hell-hole and ready to start a new chapter in my life. Glad to be back you guys...glad to be back.

On another note, the only internet I was able to get for now is DSL and it doesn't seem to be as stable as what I had before, (cable) but they are running fiber optic cable throughout the park and its supposed to be pretty fast and reliable so that is what I will end up going with once its ready. The crappy DSL will have to do for now though. The DSL seems quick enough, but it doesn't seem to be able to handle my laptop and PS3 being connected at the same time as it ends up disconnecting one or the other. Oh well, if that's the most I have to deal with, I'm still happy. 👍

Sorry about off topic.

Glad to see you back! ...and ALL the best w/ the new place!

Are you going wireless with both the PS3 and laptop? ...I would try wired for the PS3 if possible that may solve the disconnect prob.

I have gotten down to a 1:38.455 and I'm currently in the 600's with the Z/28. I used the suspension setup from Praiano and the transmission from earlier in this thread, and tweaked it a bit.

Thanks for sharing that, Dalone. Works well for me. I've done a 1:37.6 with it with my sloppy driving so it must be pretty good.
I started out with the Toyota 2000GT but could only manage 1:41.0. It's actually faster than the Camaro on the straights but nowhere near as planted in the corners.

Welcome back, Cargo. I hope you're enjoying your new place. Just unpack your PS3, TV and wheel, the rest can wait.

Edit - 1:36.9 now with plenty of room for improvement. That's it till next week for me.

Glad it helped Stirling, with Cargo back on deck and other players taking up the challenge I expect we will have a couple of decent tunes to try soon.

Ran a 1:36.738 to start need to play a bit more with the tune and BB to suit the track and these comfort medium tires.

Love this track and at a lower PP with slippy tires.

Added a bit of ballast of 50 and moved it back a bit to help with car rotation and chased doodle's ghost to improve to 1:36.1xx. Need to get smoother with the brakes and back on the throttle say 3/4's earlier after/at the apex for the last sector.

Great opening run doodle...

Thanks Dan and thanks for the tip about the wired connection. I had been running my PS3 wireless for so long, (since GT5 came out) now that I am able to have it wired, I had forgotten all about doing it that way. I wired it and also switched my phone to use the 4G network instead of my WiFi and all seems well now. Thanks again for the tip/reminder. 👍

You're Welcome! Yeah, a phone will suck up the waves as well good thinking there. Great to hear it's all squared away! 👍

Slight improvement to 1:37.201 for #219.

Checked out Doodles race, very different gearing to mine. Also a innovative L/H turn up the hill. Seems to work better than hugging the L/H corner. Swing out a bit then straighten up and plant it.
Anyway, later on.

Didn't think I'd take the lead after only 10 laps. Managed to beat kilou's time by .003! :D 1:34.464. Lost a half tenth in sector 1, a tenth in sector 2, and a half tenth in sector 3. Maybe a 1:33.9 will be possible by the end of this TT.

Edit: 1:34.384! :D

You just got bumped, doodle:

Watched your replay several times - you can easily clip off another 3 - 4 secs. Just seems like you are a bit unsure of the track - or maybe cautious about the unpredictable penalty system. Like that hot orange car - wouldn't you lessen the weight with some chrome wheels? :sly:

Just logged into GT5 - after a long hard day what else could be better than thrashing these interesting cars around Autumn Ring - (being Fall IRL and all :D ) ?
Have to admit that the 2000GT is a blast to drive - not so much as a TT but just for golding the event - which is what pays. Many other fun cars to try out - again not necessarily to chase the fastest time but just to try out the limits of the car. The last TT (#72) showed that if you were to compete in an Italian Non-Racing Car challenge at Monza limited to 550 PP, then the Gallardo would be a wise choice.

Someone back in the discussion mentioned that they couldn't get the '69 Camaro - there's plenty at the Chevy dealership.

There is a lot of fun connected with this TT - take a car of your choice (say the 2000GT) and take it into the Practise Submenu for a one-make race at Autumn Ring. Do this with other eligible cars, too - there's a lot of fun racing to be had with these '60s cars at this track.

For now - it seems like the Camaro is the go-to car for this event, though the other possibles are huge fun and shouldn't be ignored.

Okay . . . back to catching up on all the seasonals I've missed.
I'm making money like there is no tomorrow.

There is no way that doodle can improve another 3 - 4 seconds as you suggest. I would be a little cautious about that second place time also. Doesn't seem legit to me. Also, I doubt very much that doodle is unsure of the track as he has ran it in several TT's including events in the WRS and has always done very, very well there. It is one of his favorite tracks as he has said before. In my experience of taking part in these TT and knowing who the top drivers are, I myself would go with doodles time as being the first legit time. Also seems kinda funny that that 2nd place has no replay available. Kinda strange don't you think?

Also, not sure what you mean about the unpredictable penalty system for this track. The boundaries for this track are pretty cut and dry, unlike in the last TT where you were allowed to cut the whole chicane.

This is tough, I just can't get that corner correct just before you climb up the hill, can stick with Doodle's Ghost within less than a second but just bog down and lose grip on that corner, or wheel spin to much as I put the gas down. I am losing close to 2 seconds on that corner.
Using the controller with buttons and the tune posted early on in this thread.
Time to walk away for a bit and come back to it later haha.
Great fun though! Glad I discovered this online GT5 world!

The two lead times in that photo are hacked cars, no doubt:odd::banghead:. Doodle is as talented as they get but he isn't shaving 3-4 seconds:eek:... .3 -.4
maybe...

Anyone wanted to drive my slow Bellet, let me know, I'll put it on share, it's very fun to drive and easy for gold.

...another go round and new experience .. Kinda dreaded the start of this one all day .. Got a decent start with a 1:38.632. Don't know how much more I can gain. But once again, GLAD to have started doing the TT's!

Another small improvement, now 1:37.098 ..#209.

Tried to copy Doodles gears via his changes in the race but it's pretty difficult. Also it seems he is riding pretty high at the rear, which I attempted too, but found my car works better lower in the rear.
Oh well, more to learn yet.

Many congratulations Doodle...excellent time as usually

Got a 1.37.706 this morning well pleased with that, but can take more time off.
Having a right laugh driving this.

I was going to have another try but my thumbs are sore from punching buttons so I'll put mine on share. I nearly did a couple of hours ago but thought I would be using it again tonight.

I'll buy another one and copy the tune first in case I do want to have a go later.

edit ......It's on share now.

Thanks for the kind words guys. But it looks like the Lamborghini Miura will be the best car to use as I've gotten passed by two of them! Looks like it's at least a full second quicker than the Camaro.

Good grief!

I was asked what tune I was using with my Camaro Z28 '69 while I looking at other online tunes. Unfortunately I overwrote the one I was using when trying a tune by Lions Den Performance which is set up for well over 500PP.
Anyway I am posting the tune I am currently using which regularly puts me in front of my 1:37.477 ghost, with my first tune.
Note, don't change down to 2nd at the 1st corner (stay in 3rd) and get into 4th gear ASAP after the next L/hander before the R/hander.

179hp 1313kg 400PP Weight reduction stage 1 and Carbon bonnet, no additional power options just the Twin plate clutch etc etc.

3268 2230 1627 1252 1017 final 3890 max bottom 210, max top 214.

This tune is waiting for input to improve, but if you are well away from my time it can get you there.
Good luck.
So, while I am waiting for someone to put up a good one, here is the one I am using.

Thank you for posting your setup, used it to get into the 35's (1:35.944).

Try throwing these on your Camaro, courtesy of MCH at Motor City Tunes

You'll have to work out ballast and power limiter to suit, i think I was on 179 bhp.
It was good enough for a 1:36:6 ish for me using a DS3.

Will you give the man a chance?:dopey:

doodle is good; I watched his replay many, many times. There are several moments he hesitates, and as I calculated all those moments of hesitation, I accrued 3 secs. There is also the part of the track that can be cut without breaking the rules laid down by PD - watch the leaders' videos carefully and you will see them do it - though it looks somewhat of a cheat.
However the pass through the grass is sometimes allowed, I guess.
I myself try to ace it while always keeping at least two wheels on the track - but I have noticed the leaders have two offside wheels on the grass and the near two on the curb, (and immediately after vice versa) through those corners.
Again, I say, it looks somewhat ugly, but obviously if the leaders are getting away with it (irrespective of the car they're using,) then doodle can do it, too, if he is chasing the top time, and that is the only purpose to the trial.

IMO, whoever golds the event has done well, and beaten that particular challenge of the game; top times are a private little ego game with ourselves - and that is not bad either - we must always strive to be the best we can be, eh?
Those who aren't abiding by the most obvious rule of all and using an illegitimate machine are not beating anything except the rules.

doodle is a great driver - an absolute natural - and I seriously think he can shave that time down if he uses that same car and gets rid of the hesitation.
OTOH - if he is going to give the Miura a try. . . . . . quite possible he may be even faster.

I would be a little cautious about that second place time also. Doesn't seem legit to me.

Check his settings. :sly:

Also seems kinda funny that that 2nd place has no replay available. Kinda strange don't you think?

Definitely another red flag.

Great fun though! Glad I discovered this online GT5 world!

Welcome to the world of GTPlanet, bud. Hope to see you around for a good, long time.

Sure makes us smell a rat, eh?

Stop talking and get back to work!

I was absolutely impressed by your drive, doodle, and I got your back, man - you can do it.

No pressure.:sly:

No, don't look at me. Gold was good enough for this particular transporter. :dopey:

Got to admit, though, that I might give it a go with the Miura. So many great cars to try here - more to experience the handling than to even really get top time.
In fact, as I said before, I encourage anybody playing to try it and post their times here - it doesn't have to be a top time to get a pat on the back. Anyone who can gold the event will be close enough to the top time, and it will also place your racing in the same sort of league.
Ignoring the racers on steroids, that is. ;)

doodle, you are, of course, a great inspiration and a fine example of meeting a challenge as honestly as possible. 👍

I was going to have another try but my thumbs are sore from punching buttons so I'll put mine on share.

My hands are calloused from handling the steering wheel long hours recently; I just upgraded my game from V1.0 all the way to Version 2.14.
Got 20 new cars, lots of other goodies; tracks, paints, etc - as you can imagine I've died and gone to Heaven, but the body still hurts.

I rarely use a tune on a car - but I'm going to break with tradition and investigate your tune - sounds good, thanks.

...wall of text...

I think you need to review your race replay analysis skills:lol: I saved Doodles lap to use as my ghost and can say without reservation his lap is nearly perfect. What you call hesitation might just be a slight lift to get the car to rotate a little and pointed in the right direction. As I said, 3-4 10ths at most in an absolute perfect lap, 3-4 seconds not a chance, there just isn't enough grip or power in this car for that. In the Miura who knows, different car, different story.

Photonrider, and those who have tried the tune I posted a while ago.

The tune originated from a Lions Den/Praiano tune, albeit set for 550PP I think, but I have changed a number of things. It's still a work in progress and any suggestions are very welcome.
In the meantime I tried to change my gearing to more reflect Doodles gears, anyway I like these new gears better.

They are; 3451 2003 1444 1150 0930 F4577. (reset, final to 4700 and max to 180, that part is from Praiano but the actual gears are mine.)

And congratulations WhoosierGirl with your 1:35, brilliant.

PS, I will try Biffa's tune too.
