Yeah I must say that I also have trouble with turn 1 on DS4, if I'm a fraction to late there is pure understeer, so either you nail it or you dont, if you dont it's a restart 🤣, but could be an advantage for the pad here maby?, but......

I’ve given it a go! I actually love the pad, it was a lot of fun! It’s definitely easier to control for me; I think on the wheel it’s very difficult to know the steering input to use for this van so it gets messy quickly but the pad you can just give it full stick in each corner and it turns with just the right radius. I enjoyed it and I think pad will be quicker than wheel on this challenge! I did 15 laps. Here’s my best and optimum, I may stay on the pad for the rest of the trial 😬

It is particularly good in the first and last turns, the ‘last turn’ (big right hander) I regularly get the van to slide with the wheel with almost no steering input, just ‘weight transfer’ but it’s really easy to be consistent with the pad.

I tried AT too, it’s not too bad actually. Where it hurts is not shifting down and into 2nd for the final right hander and changing up to 4th early up the hill before that. Still, it wasn’t as slow as I was expecting and a decent time can still be set imo. I only did 4 laps before I got bored 👀😂 what it does do well is shift from 2nd to 3rd at the right point every time and that was gaining me time every. I find it hard to get a consistent shift point especially when the front wheels are spinning due to my violent driving style 😬

I've tried both my G29 and the DS controller on this one, and am .025 seconds quicker on the wheel.

Woo hoo! 1:27.904. I'm still in 11,000th place but I'm gold with a good margin. No need to waste any more time on this unless someone goes crazy and cuts the best time by almost a full second.

I'm still struggling with T1 and T8 but slowly getting consistent if I push, still room for improvement but just so difficult to stick one lap, so still no improvement on PB (.662) 😡🤣🤣

Usually I find a 0.500 penalty equates to 0.800-1.000 lap time loss.

I never serving penalties because everytime I screw up something, I hit retry.
Even when I finish with good lap, I'm hitting retry to avoid delta indicators, which are disturbing me when driving - not even mention ghost, that is always off.

Today I was twice very close to my best time, but didn't improved.

Yeah, consistently of my own gast is far from on point 🤣 it's very frustrating, got mine set on 1.3 sec without the respawn, but each lap it's on a different distance, sometimes I can almost match it on T1, very distracting indeed

Nice lap!! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Must feel good to be faster than an entire continent (in a van 😁) 😂. This is the dream, sub 1:26.5 is the goal! I’m getting tantalisingly close, a miss shift on my new PB cost me but I’m (reasonably) confident I can get it 😁. Optimum is finally coming down now so just hook it all up for a ‘perfect’ lap and I will be content

Difficult to tell, but were you can find some extra time is T1, I have tried to go to second for about 50 laps lol, but I'm quite a bit faster staying in third and full throttle on apex , then if you nail turn 8 by not floating that much, you have quite a fast lap!

So close! You’ll nail it for sure! After watching a few of the top replays this one is definitely an advantage for fast controller users.
Not that you need more motivation, but I’m out of time this week so the top of the friends list is no longer a moving target. So if you can stay in the .492-.499 range it would be appreciated 😂

From your time at the start of the penalty and your final turn that would have been a low 1:26.7. So you’ve got the pace.

I 100% thought I was out of time on this one but was briefly left unsupervised this morning. Snuck in just enough laps to hit my daily marathon and a new PB. A much smoother lap, hopefully that ends up safe for a top 100.
@Dan_Tes I didn’t want you to feel the pressure of such a tight window so I opened it up to .429-.499 😂

I’ve given it a go! I actually love the pad, it was a lot of fun! NICE!!! I love a bit of healthy competition! I ducked out this afternoon to play some daily racing but it was hideous so I might come back to Time Trial and NEVER RACE AGAIN. Although with laps like these I think I’ll be beaten all ends up, superb time 👏🏼

I only jumped on to blow off steam, I just wanted to go round and round in circles. It’s been a bad day. My inner Daniel Day-Lewis got the better of me…

I found the line through the final right hander. It’s glorious, I actually stuffed the middle sector but that last corner makes so much time… feels weird to be in the WR ghost turning towards the finish line! Shame it’s only a van, we are never going to get bragging rights for hustling this thing quickly! 😂😂

My real world car goes in the garage tomorrow, it’s had a terrible year/life and hopefully if I can get it running it’ll start making its way back to full health. If the problems are major or the bill is eye-watering.. I expect I’ll spend the whole afternoon doing more circles in my Jurassic Van. God help us all 🤓

The problem with this time trial, in my opinion, is that it’s too easy and as a consequence it’s quite difficult (to get a good position, that is). Just like the past two Gr.4 TTs. Too slow of a car, easy drive, can barely make any mistakes, times are too close. For this reason I don’t like it. No offense to anyone who sitting in nice positions here now, I just can’t wait for this one to be over. Only done about 50 kms with a 1’27.049 and I dread the pain of going out there again...

I’ll try some more since position 1,493 is way below my standard but it is not enjoyable at all. Just had the 0.49 go to .019, gaining 136 positions. And now 26.961 gaining another 244 positions by only improving 0.058. Come on...

I think I'm out for this one, we had a powersupply error yesterday that blasted my experiaV10a modem when it went back on, so I have no connection anymore and have to wait for the mechanic to call to check it out and prob to bring me a new one, this one is def dead

Had a look a few minutes ago, current TT ends in 2 days. My 1:29.060 is a solid silver, but I am ~0.5s from gold, I think I'll give it a last go to get one more M credits. My next 2 DWs will probably be done with this TT.

Congratulations! That was a extremely good lap! I admire stability in your movements, wish I could recreate it myself. Question since you were testing steering wheel vs controller, but I assume it might be stupid question, but still, steering wheel or controller ?
