Last try on BH and I get a gold time just before the bell 🙂.

The red one silvia was the way for me. The first curve, too soon / too late, was a nightmare on this track...
Now i'am waiting payday, with several new cars to buy tomorrow morning.

New test today late afternoon on Brands Hatch and no improvement on my best time. I think I missed something on this TT, because given my optimal times I could have been below 1'45 (best optimal of 1'44'6xx). But it doesn't matter because I had a lot of fun on this TT, and like @Dolph Drago who has his first top 50, I am ranked in my first top 200 in 174th place. I am really very satisfied with this result. Hoping the new TT arriving tomorrow is just as wonderful.

Sight.....this has to be the most unsatisfying goal I had done 🫠

Allow me to explain.....this lap contained TWO brain fart moments where I completely spaced out on 2 easy corners and I completely forgot to turn in. I lost at less 1/2 a second between the that 2 corners.

Ok fine....let's do another lap. It was a 7:36.9s.....with a huge code brown moment where I had to rescue the car from flying straight to a wall. Yup...1/2 a secobd lost again.

One more go! More than 1/2 a second up until I took a wrong line into the mini carousel. It spited me out at the wrong angle and sent me out to the grass.

That's when I turned off the PS5....:irked:

Brands Hatch, day 4, final push

Decent improvement of over a tenth, not the desired sub 45.5, but under 2% so it's good.
Three hours and 100 laps, sometimes I was really close, but yeah, errors, errors.

Congratulations to @Jeje6410 for pushing to the end! That is outstanding to have your PB in the time trials on a proper car/track combo. That alien badge is just pending my friend! 👽

Final improvement at Brands Hatch, now at a 1:44.763, improvement of half a tenth which should seal my first top 50. I think this trial can be summed up with 1 sentence, "lots of time left on the table". After 120km of running last night, I had an optimum of 1:44.4XX which I was unable to capitalise on which left a frustrating taste in my mouth, but looking at it from a fresh perspective, I am far more happy to have achieved my first top 50, and my first top 100!

Congrats to all the GTPers in front of me with their outstanding laps! Don't remember seeing this many GTP usernames in the top 100 for a while.

Will be interested to see the participation stats for this trial, have to assume that a lot of top players didn't participate in this one if I'm so deep into the top 100 and still 1.1 seconds away from the top time.

Now full steam ahead with the Nurburgring! :gtpflag:

@linksracer, thank you for not going a couple of hundredths faster. Awesome result getting in the top 50 for the first time. We're going in together! :dopey:

@Evilmuffin, I feel you. I improved tonight, but I brainfarted and completely forgot to downshift from 4th (which I didn't even need to be in) to 3rd before entering Brunnchen (specifically Youtube Corner - 5:32 mark in the video) and washed wide. I stayed on track but lost at least 3 tenths. :banghead:

Just had my first session on the ’ring. Yeah, I’m not good with this one. I managed to get three non invalidated laps in for a 8:02.177. I think I’ll just be happy if I can get a sub 8 minute.

I then watched the replay of the WR time. My mind exploded at how he’s able to drive like that.

well did another 10 or so at Nord with no improvement on my PB (1:53.2) but I would say I made some progress in terms of feeling like I was able to drive the car around most of the track with a decent amount of authority instead of fear. I got within a tenth of my PB a couple laps and my optimal was a 1:51.1xx.

I knew what your time was and I was gunning for it, but just couldn't string the right lap together
I'm surprised we both got Top 50 together, would definitely have thought you'd beat me to this achievement!

Well, I nearly had a top 50 last year with the Alpine at Watkins Glen, but I got knocked out in the last hours by someone in this thread of all places to finish 51st. That one hurt. :P Not happening this time!

Put in about 5 laps this morning and couldn't best my PB of a low 1:42 at the moment. I can lap consistently in the 42s, but every time I make progress in a lap I blow it somewhere else. Very few invalidated laps though, just slooow laps, haha.

Today I tried out ABS default (from weak) and I can't say that I like it. It makes the car a little more "stiff" feeling on corner entry, and I was used to the slight looseness of the car, using it to help in some corner entries, so I think next time I'm going back to weak.

I'm also gonna be firing up some of the fast guys laps and giving them a quick study... something I normally don't do, but there's over 10 seconds left out there and I want to see how the aliens are invading this place. I will get sub 40 lap times!

So many fast times on the board now! For all the complaints about how tough it is out there at the Ring, there sure are a lot of you that are rapid here! I feel like I'm on the edge of death with my times, and I'm waaay off the mark!

I'm glad I didn't give up!

I was having a very frustrating session, definitely making progress but only improving my time a couple of tenths, and it was getting late.

"One more lap?" I negotiated with myself. "OK". Well, 5 laps and a few restarts later... success!!!

I finally broke into the 1:40s and the into top 1000 at the same time, shaving almost a second off my PB. A great way to end the night.

Huge thanks to @Evilmuffin , @Dolph Drago , and @Gomario JSP for their advice on what I needed to do to improve my time!! There's still a ways to go, but progress is definitely being made.

This just makes me happy!, well done mate!

I was kind of stuck on the ring the last sessions, and trust me i tried to find that flow to keep competing with them big Schleife boys @Evilmuffin and mr miracle lap @Dolph Drago , god you guys are fast here.....

Muffin mentioned maby trying a little overlay, a tiny bit of throttle to get more stability in the car to prevent oversteer..
Man that works on this car!, it made me kind of less nerveous, and often so tiny i can't even see it on my replay but great tip mate!

@ikon_313 i tried to implement your tips for the ring, first good lap was a 38.007 but i was way to late on rotation at entry to Schwalbenschwanz that cost me a lot...

Next lap i made some tiny mistakes along the way but had a far better flow later on the lap, 4th on Hohe Acht def. is better if you have the correct line!

I had sweaty hands at Schwalbenschwanz and was way to carefull and ended up downshifting way to soon, cost me big time there and compromised my exit and entry of the next corner...

Galgenkopf is still a mistery to me, altho i had a lot of more speed now :)

Glad to say that i'm finally into the 37's ........, i worked my a*s of for this one...

Many thanks Ikon! for pointing out these points, i almost made a second compared to yesterday :bowdown:
You also got half a second i see, well done mate!

I can sleep peacefully now... :):):lol:
