Hi everybody (and @Gogga) 😁

One more session snake charming the Viper and a new PB. 2:01:782

The lap:

This time I got it in a 2nd lap, rather than trying restarts like yesterday. I focused on getting tighter lines in the T3-T6 complex (the hairpin) correcting the mistake from the previous PB.

My S1 gearing shifts are totally different from what Tidgney suggests, but if I exit T1 in 3rd I always run out of revs before the next breaking point, because of that I keep exiting it in 2nd and change it up to 4th all the way.

I may have another tenth in this combo. Lap shared in game.

I love the Viper. 😁

First session didn't go too awfully. I'm not driving it right yet as I still feel through many corners to be fighting it but it's slowly coming to me.

I'm out of practice. Just not enough time and a couple uninteresting combinations has lead me down the path that @Gomario JSP is on.

I also managed a 1:27:7xx with the Vulcan as well but forgot a screenshot. Fun car but it just doesn't click with me as much. @crome you are absolutely killing it there. Nice work sir! 👾👾👾
Excellent time for your first session in the Viper. Took me quite a few laps to get that ship to behave. I hated it at first, but it's growing on me.
Once it comes to you, you will be flying mate!

I also gave the time trials a bit of a break. The uninteresting combinations coupled with the lack of time gave me a good break from it all. A time out always does good.

It was the M3 that sort of brought me back to chasing that clock. The E36 M3 will forever be my all time favorite BMW ever made and I just could not resist giving that combo my all. I just wish I had the time for one more session with it.

The Aston combo doesn't click with me as well. For now, I'm just sticking to the ones I really enjoy. Less chance of feeling burnt out.

My friend : how can I tell you: I don't eat anything in particular for breakfast and as I'm not as early as @Gomario JSP (except to go to work and not to play) I don't think his book "the breakfast of champions" is suitable for me useful...🤣🤣🤣
My breakfast is coffey, jothing more nothing less 🤣, 6 to 8 ill hammer down two Lungo's, than leave at 8:15 for work and eat my real breakfast there 😁 🤣🤣

So I have confirmation from the both of you that this is not the trick 🤣
I will continue my usual routine of my morning jog, my usual breakfast and then off to work 😁

And I think you'll catch up with me pretty quickly because I haven't had much time to play for a few days except Friday. 😭😭😭
But hurry because I think I can improve my time on Autopolis🤣🤣😉😉
Finding it hard to catch your current time. I've hit a brick wall with that Viper.

I know you will improve your time, but just take it easy on me... I'm not yet a fully qualified maritime captain 🤣

@skydragon49 Excellent lap there!!!
Il be back 😉

This track is very complex, but it's also very tedious. I would not consider it to be fun in the same way that Suzuka is. There's no flow to it at all, and the level of discipline required to ensure that you don't run off the road is high. It's a proper test and I found myself struggling to concentrate after about an hour, so this was my best time. I'll have another crack later today to see if I can beat my brother, who managed a 2:01.024 somehow.

Have I ever mentioned I really hate Autopolis??? Several hundred times before, I hear you all say?

It's genuinely too boring for me to even want to try and learn it 😂😂

I'll crack it eventually but it'll be time in my life that I won't enjoy. I could be eating crisps and ice cream and pizza but no I'm driving this track
Weird, I love Autopolis. It's one of my favourite circuits in GT7

First set of laps with the slippery snake:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20241102185151.jpg

I like this kind of challenges, taming a car with a demanding handling through a not-so-fast technical track :dopey:
I'm going to watch Tidgney's guide for this one to see where I can improve, but I think this is already a pretty good start (using TCS 1 and CSA Weak).

IMO the car is only let down by this choice of tires, if we could have a better set of rubber I'm sure we wouldn't have such a bad understeer with this Viper.

PS: I've also managed to improve my time at Interlagos, won myself almost 0.3 tenths yesterday... so right now I'm sitting at 1:29.1xx.
However, finding those extra tenths is getting increasingly harder. I can steadily improve my sector 1 most of the time, only to blew it later on the following sectors... braking with this Vulcan without inducing understeer certainly isn't easy.
I'd like to get below 1:29, but I might just leave it as it is... when I stop having fun I just move on to the next TT.

This one in the Viper is definitely not one of the ones I'm going to push hard from silver. I don't find it an enjoyable car (and to be fair it's is hugely criticised in real life for being a bit rubbish/dangerous)

Happy lapping racers 👋 see you in the next one :)

It's the last section (mostly). Just entirely a nothing section IMO. Not great for racing or time trialing. Personal opinion obvs and very often in this life, I am wrong
The way sector 3 is you can definitely feel the Fuji inspiration for those corners but without the elevation and camber changes.

I think it's ok to TT in a better car but racing is tricky if agree

It sucks I can't do this Viper challenge, I wish I could use the remote-play. Jomar plays on his laptop sometimes. We have a Dell Inspiron, can you play GT7 on the computer and enter TT's there? I hope it's not 6-7 months before I can get a ps5 because I'm missing out on the TT fun with you guys. :(

You can't remote play without a console.

It's definitely a patience track for sure. There's a lot of Fuji in the off-camber, tightening radius corners. I found it really frustrating at first (like Fuji), but once you figure out the flow it's pretty rewarding when you get it right.

... sounds like the perfect definition of a sports car 🤣 a bit rubbish, a bit dangerous, but that's where all the excitement is!

OK, I get it. It's definitely not an intuitive drive this Viper, especially with those tyres.
It takes some getting used to, but I kinda like it.

I improved my Silver this afternoon one tiny bit, gained some 0.3 tenths but I'm still at the 2:04 mark.
I'd really like to get to 2:03.xxx sometime, but that's going to take some more practice.

Hey folks. Back from my weekend out, I hope you had a great time. Second session in the Viper for me, and I should have known that a statement like:
I think I'll be aiming at a 2:00.xxx ...
is basically an invitation for the game to troll me, and of course that's exactly what it did 🤣

This was the fastest lap of the session by some margin, and it included the rookie mistake of shifting up into 4th gear 10 meters before the finish line 🙈

But in a way I'm glad I didn't break into 2:00 just yet. I wasn't in the best state of mind anyway, a little tired from the long drive home etc. And this result should make sure I have enough motivation for another go. So, Club 2:00, don't count me out just yet! ;)

Haven’t run for over a week, but after watching the F1 and being inspired by Max Verstappen, I decided to try and make some progress at Interlagos. Unfortunately, I was a bit more Ollie Bearman than Max, but managed to make some progress over 50miles or so and got down to a 27.236. Not inspired to run any more here and the Viper doesn’t excite me, so going to wait and see what the next event brings. Feels like forever since we’ve had something FWD doesn’t it?

After my largely fruitless grind last night, I decided to switch up my settings.

Firstly went from default to weak ABS, secondly released the feedback sensitivity to 3, from 5 (torque still 10). And lastly increased the controller sensitivity to 4, from 1.

Here is the result!

And that's it for me for this TT. I can see a tenth and a half, but to extract that would require nerves of steel execution.

wow amazing lap, I was sure you drove with a steering wheel and not the controller !

You're welcome!

Here's a clip that explains it well, he's an elite driver.

Very interesting, i will try to form my own opinion since i drive in direct drive (DDPRO)! But I think it will definitely be better on 5 or less for me, I always roll on 10.
