TT-Tsukuba-10laps-3-VR.jpg

Did a 10 laps stint at Tsukuba, in VR, because I needed to test retroprojection 😅

No improvement but similar to my first stint on flat screen.

Nice job! You know, just a thought. Spa is one of those tracks where you have to hit the nail at each turn, chicane and corner. I don't know how the aliens and mortals have had all this patience with it, and the last chicane before the finish is a lap killer, almost as bad as the Death Chicane at Seaside. Well, wish me luck, I'm going out in the battlefield, Spa. Gonna give it a try in a few minutes.

Oh, I guess you got the video sharing stuff straight because you didn't PM me anymore on the subject. Well I need to get busy, gotta make every minute count here.

Sweet mother of jesus, this was a struggle and a half.

I finally managed to understand T10 and T11, not really following top ghosts through there but they are not dissapearing in the distance like they used to. I lost a tenth for sure at T12 in this lap, to cautious, and the final chicane could be better, so I'm looking at a low 2:17.7xx probably when (if) I nail it.

First session done, completed about 5 laps, down to a 2.19.3, good enough for gold.

Ive genuinely never been good at racing at Spa in GT7 despite loving the track so much. I think I'm so used to racing it in F1 games for the past 30 years and there's quite a few subtle differences my brain can't adapt to, especially that whole section of Rivage, corner with no name and Pouhon. I lose almost all the time vs the leading ghost in that bit.

Love this livery always and forever ❤️😍

First Time Trial of 2025! Always happy to be back at Spa despite it being a way overused combo, and the car restriction made it quite interesting. It required me to unlearn all of the habits picked up from those 1000's of laps in the McLaren 650S Gr.3 as the older machines behavies very differently than the modern GT3/Gr.3's.

Not at all satisflied with my time, especially seeing @A_Higher_Place and @Vule 's laps! I should have another tenth in Sector 1, and that massive lift in Blanchimont (How do people flat through there? Did I miss anything!?) but nothing much especially in Sector 2 which was the fastest I have ever been.:confused:

Great lap!

My best sector 1 is a .890 so far, though there may be a drop more in there for me.

Blanchimont is a weird one too. I turn in slightly earlier than is comfortable until it became comfortable. Sometimes I stay in 5th and if I'm lucky the car won't hit the limiter and I'll exit at 157mph. Most times though, I'll switch to 6th for safety (when on a FL) and exit at 155 - 156mph. It's less than a tenth of difference between there and the bus stop, but it's faster to stay fifth for me. I think it comes down to turning angle and scrubbing off the right amount of speed and keeping revs high more than anything.

My sector 2 was in the 1:02s. Blipping the throttle helped me on corner exits in the slower speed too.

I'm sure we will see you further up the order in a few days time 😁

Great lap from you. You're the only one above me on my leaderboard - since this morning I've come down from a 2.19.348 to a 2.19.057.... Obviously you're the "friendly target" albeit one I'm not likely to reach!!!

Flat out through blanchimont is scary when on a great lap, but exactly as @A_Higher_Place said - turn in too early to seem "comfortable" / normal.

I managed to increase my speed enough to gain me quite a bit of time. I do it in 6th, exit speed is upto about 153 now, going to try it in 5th and hope for the best! I'm certain if I can get your speed through there, I'll drop into the 2.18s where I shall be a happy man.

Hi folks. I've only had the game 1 week, so still settling in. Have spent many hours doing the tt's and managed to sneak gold in the last two ( around 2.5%). However, I'm having real trouble with Spa and can only manage a measley 2:21.3 after well over 100 laps. You guys are posting some seriously impressive times 👍. I'll carry on lurking and hopefully pick up a few more tips.

Had a great run this morning - car, track and tires finally starting to make sense. So many places are able to just suck multiple tenths out of the lap though. First improved to a 2:19.25 and then started to drop into the 18’s. I know I said I’d stop when I got here, but there’s still potential in the lap based on these splits - there’s a tenth in the first sector as well.

The new TT really is an extremely fun combination. The legendary NSX on the traditional track in Tsukuba. It's a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I'm not really good in road cars without slicks.

It was still enough for a 1:02.356.

Not an outstanding time and I'm sure there are still 1-2 tenths in it, but I'll settle for that for now.

I hope you all had a good start to the new year.

Had quite a good day today. Also just managed to fight a bit with my control pad to wrestle the car around and shave about 0.25s off my time, down to a 1.02.71 from a 1.02.95

Genuinely don't think there's much more I can do on either time trial, to be honest. Both TT times are now less than half a tenth off my optimal best.

What I will say is..... Its been a while since I had such fun with a pair of TTs (Time trials, get your heads out of the gutter!)

Hahaha, 1 thousand  Great job! Guess I know what I'll be doing tonight :mischievous:

Why? You beat me at Catalunya I think, you scored some amazing results recently, it's very nice and challenging when you have 4-5 guys who consistently push you and have such a similar pace, that stuff only makes you better :)
Oh I just see you poppin' 17.5 or something up there. Which.. I won't be able to touch at the moment. I also rate you faster cause you achieve similar times in shorter periods of time. Takes me awhile to 'dial in' to each combo.

Looking forward to your next lap!

Hey guys!
First things first: I wish to all of you a happy new year of 2025, with health, joy and many shiny medals coming your way :D

...and now that I've mentioned it, here's a little something:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20250104085153.jpg

This turned out to be an interesting combo, I have never been a huge fan of the RedBull cars, and I'm dealing with them since the days of GT6...
But the Junior is definitely much more "bearable" than the X2019, that's for sure.
Its sheer amount of downforce clearly overtakes its power delivery, so to be properly fast with this thing you absolutely HAVE to be aggressive, really throw it at those corners and keep those revs up.
1:47.685 was the best I could do, in the end I couldn't refine my lap any more than this... it's the usual struggle with the Devil and the details, and I'm not too good with details so that's it

Next up was the gorgeous NSX at Tsukuba:
Gran Turismo™ 7_20250104085330.jpg

Much better, right?
I've been trying a few different settings for quite some time, in the hopes of finding something that actually feels "comfortable", and eventually I think I found it:
  • TCS 1
  • CSA Weak
  • ABS Weak
  • Steering Sensitivity 5

With this combination of settings, the car feels very good to me, with a responsive steering, light understeer, good-enough braking and a not so overly-happy rear end.

I'm definitely going back to this one, as I'm just 0.3 tenths away from Gold... might not sound like much, but here at Tsukuba 3 tenths is plenty, but I'm not ready to throw the towel just yet.

It's multiple cars, but I think this current Spa TT is in the same bucket as the GT-One and Impreza RC ones where I wish the BoP was stock rather than Gr.3 so we get to drive these cars in their proper form.

Plus I wouldn't be shocked if these three cars specifically are actually more balanced in stock form than in BoP'd form! It's not like JGTC had big changes between 1997-2000.

Started my first lap at Tsukuba in the NSX, was a pleasant ride if you ask me. It is hard to turn, I have to use caution and brake early in order not to miss the turn. Sorry for the first 40 seconds where I had to restart, I'll do better next time. I saw GomarioJSP's replay on Youtube, it was amazing. His braking points and throttle was way better than mine, will never be able to replicate that kind of stuff, and from any alien. I may as well face it here with reality. The NSX does slide a lot while turning which can be a pain in the rear end cause it affects my exits from each corner. It's frustrating at times.
