Wanted to drop a note here as the discussions and comments above really helped me get into the 1:51s at Fuji Speedway (wet). Any advice on how to rotate the car through that first right-hand turn? Coming out of that turn, I'm always a little bit behind the 1:48 / 1:49 ghosts out there on that turn alone and I'm finding that nailing that rotation can help you carry speed into the next straight. I'm on ABS weak and TC-0. Cheers to everyone here; only my second post ever and happy to join the community after lurking for a couple months :) I figure I'll give it another 10 laps a day max on Fuji depending on how much free time I can nab and then go over to Alsace to work on that one :)
Well, all the normal boring stuff, make sure you are braking and turning the right amount. Not too late, not too much. A bit of coasting at the apex is usually good.

On top of that you can use the 4WD to force the front tyres to turn more, turn the wheel (or pad) further than usual at the apex and accelerate gently. Then straighten up as you get on the gas. But you want to avoid the slippery normal line, definitely a tricky corner!

Using the same 4WD technique is also useful in other parts of the lap, especially the final sector.

Hi guys! I’m back after a mini break north of the wall; did a few laps at Fuji this morning… it’s quite fun actually although gives its secrets away very quickly and I can’t see me spending a lot of time on this one; I do much prefer this layout of Fuji though and at least it retains most of fan favourite S3 😁

Main focus today was Alsace and trying to keep my world top 100 streak up for 2025; it’s a great challenge this IMO just the right amount of grip and slip! I was so close to getting into the 1:52s; I might give it another go before I go away tomorrow but happy with a good time on the board and top 100 is safe!

Epic time on Alsace buddy as expected,
For Fuji.....good time!, I would suggest not to try anymore.....this is fine... just for once....... LEAVE IT 🤣🤣🤣

Hi,

Not been in here for a while. For several reasons really. Mainly due to the horrendous, hideous and horrible F1 car at Monza. That time trial - almost - broke my heart, my love for GT 7, my wheel, my rig, my marriage and my sanity! It sent my blood pressure through the roof and actually made me poorly. Done, gone and forgotten now.... Thankfully!

It would seem that the Forum has lost some members and gained some too. A natural state of most things in life I guess.

To the ones we lost - My very best to you. You will all be missed and whatever you are doing next in life, I hope it brings that which you hope for!
( I know many of you are "lurking" 🫣 )
To the ones we have gained - Welcome to one of the finer and most entertaining "corners" of the internet.

On a slightly more on topic note...

I spent an hour at Fuji, struggling like mad to get a decent time. Then realised that you can change the tyres from Inters to Wets. I still don't have a decent time but it is much easier not to wreck at every corner or kerb.

The Porsche at Alsace is such such good fun. If time and chores allow, I am hoping to shave a little more of a, moderately, respectable time. As long as I beat an {unnamed} individual, I will be more than happy!!! 😬

Very best regards to all here.

Ian.

Post up a capture of your lap. We can definitely help!

I find really trail braking in and keeping your revs perfectly matched to your wheel speed finds the grip. I also brake in a higher gear and last minute at the apex (for the tricky corners) I shift down and throttle out. Some you can full throttle and some you have to really manage your throttle... First turn depending on how I hit my brake marker, I do shift to second to get the front end to bite. I don't always have to though, and when I get it right in third I'm faster. Barely, but a little...

I used ABS Default for this one. Assume you're on Wets and not Inters? Into turn 1, hook 1st gear as you start to turn to help rotation, and then back to second to power out

Now that's what I'm talking about.

Had my very brief first stint at Alsace in the Porsche and although I am really not familiar with this track, I got into the gold quite easily. Just when I started getting to grips with the combo, it all ended abruptly due to a power outage. :banghead:

I am stressed, over worked and a total mess at the moment. Very rusty at GT and I really miss the days when I had the time to set some decent lap times.

If I do get a chance to return to this combo, I am going to resort to TC1. That back end steps out a bit and I think some TC would save me some decent time.

Happy Hunting Folks... I might not be around here all the time, but I still thoroughly enjoy reading you posts. Keeps me sane

I had to focus on some grinding last week and weekend for last of Free Legendary Ferrari 330 - final puzzle to pin the Platinum.

Now I see Alsace will be a hard time though Porsche GT1 is great drive.
I am stack with last 400ms to gold it and honestly have no more skill margin.
Seems this is going to be another Hill to me.

edt some wirding and spelling as always

🤣 🤣 Naah i think i'm out on Fuji, it was a quick ride but i'm not realy getting hooked on it, so "i'll let you have this one "...
( at least it's not more than half a second like the rest of the timetrials 🤣

I, on the other hand, feel EXACTLY this way about these TTs. 😆

I've only now gotten back to playing GT regularly after about a 5yr hiatus since GT Sport. I'm so rusty, I would spin out on my own in most of the few Daily Races I've done so far. I hadn't dabbled into the TTs before, but I thought it'd be a good way to get back into the swing of sim racing.

Only I didn't realize how addicting it was to collect medals - especially Gold - that now I'm hooked! And stressed! Over worked! And a total mess until I'm safe with a gold. 🤣

I think it's also cause TT reminds me so much of my most recent real-life hobby: I regularly did trackdays on my moto, intent on setting a new personal best on the track. I wasn't interested in club racing, cause I only cared to best myself. I find that doing these TTs gives me the same challenge, right down to the frustration of coming close but still short, to the relief of hitting a goal.

This is and has always been my primary view of GT games. I see them as track day simulators (and I greatly enjoy them as that). I haven't entered a single online race in GT7 yet and the only offline racing I do is grinds at Sardegna.

Actually, I wish there was a legit trackday mode for Nordshliefe where you could set the desired traffic density and have an array of random duffers out there doing tourist laps. lol...

Hi guys,

Small session in Alsace, just to get into the club. 53.XXX

Well it’s ok, but my god, you guys push hard !

I may have become greedy, but I am a little disappointed in my current time. I would have liked to get closer to a delta around +1% of WR.

I don’t go near it, even with my opti.

Probably not time to come back before Thursday morning, I expect to lose at least 100 places...

EDIT :

Compared to the lap guide of Tidgney, I lose time everywhere.

I still need to lift briefly in turn 2 to stay on the left side.

I think the transition from the exit of t4 to the exit of t6 is my weak point.

I think my sector 3 is almost correct.

For some reason the subie at Fuji agrees with me. You need to be more aggressive than it seems, gentle is slow. Got down to a 50.1, optimal 49.9. That outta be safe I reakon.

Very nice lap !

Time code 3.34, massive oversterring !

Code brown ?!?
I chase Chafe and he does the same exact thing there. Maybe not as pronounced... But I like it squirrelly anyway. I've had a few invalidated faster laps than this with more oversteer but I always end up hitting a pylon or just getting inside the curb. It's a very very fine line for me. 🍻😂
