So there was a chance for a last attempt at Suzuka and I went for it. I did even change oil to reach my goal of a sub-37 lap time and in the end I did it almost...

Nice improvement and a new optimum in 36.4xx but I could not make it. There was "the one lap" but I screwed up the final chicane and every other lap afterwards...

It was incredible fun for me and for the first time in several months I did regret selling my Formula wheel... That wouldn't had get it done but might show how much I enjoyed this TT. This screenshot goes out to you, @Gogga:

Very cool. I am not able to do s2 below 16. I think I managed to do 15.9 only once. So if I could do 15.5 or 15.7, that would be 0.5 faster already for me

If I manage 1:14 in Mitsubishi Lancer on Eiger Nordwand TT I will be more than happy, still, Pretty happy with lap time today, and promising OPT sector times too...

( When I was reading comments here I was surprised many of you struggled on sector 3 long right hander over bridge and uphill, I was honestly almost on pair with P1 20.71 vs mine 20.76, I wasn't losing even a tenth there, I had biggest struggle S1 exit of hairpin just before end of S1, losing most time there, so I played with controller sensitivity today. Now I also struggle on S3 long right hander but pass first hairpin easier. Just advice if someone "can't turn in", try different sensitivity and test whole lap, and observe what works best in which turns until you find balance that works for whole lap. I think I ended up with 7 3 7, I don't know if that helps anyone who isn't on motion control but still, I share in Hope that helps someone. )

Hi folks!!

Dead tired, but mission accomplished

I shall not return but happy to be in the 1:34 club and maintain the top 100 streak (@feral and bad if you have a spare moment to check…!!)

Not my fave but satisfying to get it done

Now I have another mountain to climb…

Good god man, that is a thing of beauty. The speed you carry is insane. I don't like the gear spamming but man, your lines are just magnificent. The esses are crazy good.

Get in there!! Nicely done!!

I told you that you would surpass my time... and that you did, even if its just by one thousandth of a second! 😁

I tried to improve my time on my 2nd stint and had no luck at all. Sector 1 and 2 is my nemesis.

Let's just hope our gold holds 🤞

Hey, fellas! :D

Sorry I haven’t posted here or replied to any PM’s yet since my surgery. It’s been a busy week, not to mention being only semi-lucid for a few days.

The surgery went fine, but I unfortunately have a ton of physical and occupational therapy ahead of me. I was admitted to hospital inpatient therapy yesterday afternoon and had a long, tiring day today. It will be at least a couple weeks minimum here before I get discharged to head back home and start outpatient therapy. Recovery is going to suck, as I’ve been through it once before and have an idea of what to expect. But it is what it is.

I will see if I can get some time on my laptop tomorrow to properly reply to anyone curious about more info.

Hope the TTing is going well for everyone! Lord knows how many pages I am behind in the thread. :)

So incredibly frustrated and exhausted. Maaaaaaan...

For 95% of the lap the pace is there for a time good enough for about P50 - 80 but unfortunately in this combo I feel like a C level driver as I try to make my way through the Casio Triangle. In the matter of two corners and three ish seconds I lose many, many tenths and ~175 positions. Haven't felt this incompetent in quite a while... :banghead:

Been at the split just before 130R at 1'17.100, 1'17.035 and 1'16.960 but simply can't carry the lap home. I've noticed if you go through Casio well it should be pretty much 18 seconds exact from the final split to the finish line (~.960 to .960).

__

Good to hear it went fine, Dolph! Hope to see you back in action in a not too distant future. All the best for your recovery, man.

Wishing you the best, mate. Stay positive and amazing things will happen!!✌️

You guys are real aliens:-) Not sure I want go be one of you:-) Maybe I will just collect cars:-)

But in all seriousness, it is a bit frustrating. I know that it is my second TT. First was Monza and I only managed to get to 0.5 sec off SILVER. I wanted to try and reach Silver this time and I did. Today, I can easily do a lap that will be below 1.39 and most laps are in mid to low 1.38…so I should be content, but being 0.9 sec off GOLD is a bit frustrating.

I just need to accept that it is my current level and just keep improving. Too much to learn and put together in such a short period of time.

I will give it another go tomorrow as, I think, tomorrow is the last day and then will see how I learn and improve further
Not sure this TT is a good marker for your abilities.... In the EVO at eiger i'm top 1500 at 1,8-ish % of the top time. And that took me maybe 45min.
Yesterday on the other hand I had a frustrating 3+ hours and nearly 500km at Suzuka, just to improve from a 1.37.8xx to 1.37.290
Good improvement, but frustratingly still 0.150 from gold. And more frustrating is the fact that my optimal was 1.36.850 but I just can't get the lap together....
I don't have time today to give it another go, so it ends in silver for me 😠

P.S. what is TT75?
Sorry about the abbreviation.

@half_sourly tracks the statistics and numbers the TT.

Moreover, his work contributes greatly to the value of these challenges.

The number 75 corresponds to combo Spa Francorchamps/Alfa Romeo 4C combo.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/time-trial-results-and-community-leader-boards.424113/

It was from that moment that I started following this thread.

From the Sardegna/Dino Ferrari combo, I understood that you can do good things with a pad.

Then it encouraged me to invest more time and in better equipment (but this is not a necessity, just a way to increase the fun AMHO).

After i only did some laps at Suzuka before and didn't like it, i read here for days about your unbelievable times.

So as i wasn't progressing at the Nordwand anymore (guess it could still be enough for my personal best TT), i tried some more laps in the Super Formula.

Before that i only had 2 laps that counted, a 1:42 and a 1:43.

Now at least i see i could push towards gold if i had the time. In the, let's say 10 laps today my personal best is clearly into the mid 37s.

I didn't fall in love with that kind of car but at least i did something. You guys are still fascinating with your times!

Cheers! Unfortunately it’s just the quickest way; before watching replays I was in 5th through the esses but 4th gives you far more rotation and if you want to mix with the big boys you gotta use every last trick!

Great to hear from you @Dolph Drago and all the best with your recovery
What?!? you do not cross the Degner curve flat out ?!?

I am disappointed 🤣🤣🤣

Congrats Dan
Ahaha! Good spot! Towards the end of my stint yesterday I was focusing on the exit of Degner 2 as it was where I was losing the most time; of course it’s possible to take Degner 1 flat out but led to inconsistent braking and understeer into 2; so over time I was subconsciously lifting into 1 which was setting me up for a better exit! There are lots of places on this trial where you can ‘rob Peter to pay Paul’ so to speak. In the end I was focusing on smoothness and this was by far the smoothest cleanest lap I did
