I haven't gone back to the Evo TT since I secured a comfortable Gold but unless I'm remembering incorrectly, I had to stop trailbraking a tad early than I normally would, to allow the car to steer further towards my apexes.

May have to go back to it to confirm myself.

This is genuinely so painful. No matter what I do, I just cannot break the 1 sec off GOLD barrier…consistently in Silver, can do many laps in the 1.38….but cannot go below 1.38 not to mentioned the 1.37.0 required for GOLD. 1 sec is a lot knowing that I am already on the limit. Not sure what to do:-((

I have no idea how to find 0.5 in S2 and do S3 below 37.0

If I can gain 0.1-0.2 in S1, 0.5 in S2, 0.4-0.5 in S3 and 0.1 in S4….then Gold is possible. But I just have no idea how to do it

From your last vid you shared:

I thought you did very good S1 and S2 times. I think similar to what I do actually.

Have you tried short-shifting up to 3rd from 1st after you apex the Hairpin and before you get on the throttle? TC isn't doing you any favor, but the shift up to 2nd and 3rd after pinning the throttle is lost time even if your thottle's pinned.

Have you tried tightening up your apex for T14 in Spoon? It would allow you to get on the throttle sooner out of it.

I think this might my best S3 plus S4 on Eiger Nordwand, check video comparison
P1 Upper half, his time = 42.253
Lower half my lap, time = 42.333 I am literally 0.080 behind only for half of the track. (let's not talk about S1 and S2 where I am 0.559 behind on first two sectors, focus on positive, right, last two sectors are more or less on pair with P1 :D those damn hairpins in first two sectors... haha )

Rome wasn't built in a day. You are doing all the right things- asking good questions, applying what people share, etc. Just be patient - if it was easy to be close to the top 1% all the time, that area would be more crowded. Just keep chipping away and slowly but surely the results will show. You're current position puts you top 10% more or less, so 90% of people are doing worse than you. Not great consolation, but worth keeping in mind.

Kart is really fun on some small tracks (at Eiger for example or Miyabi, but there are others) so I think it will be really nice.
I think PD's trying to wean us out of Super Formula at Suzuka, with another no-throttle-lift-necessary vehicle but at much reduced speeds. 😝

If you're going MT you need to go zero TC and spam the gears on exit. So hairpin you change down to first on entry, then straight back up to 3rd on exit. I also don't think you trust the downforce enough, gotta chuck her in a bit more.

Ok, I will have 1 more hr tomorrow before TT ends. This is not my fastest lap, but this is now my consistent lap. I am able to repeatedly do low 1.38. For GOLD, I need 1.3 sec or so.

Maybe you see what and how I can improve. I will wake up early, give it a go. Thank you!!!!

This. Also @Lightpilgrim, don't forget to register for the leaderboard of death aka alien breeding ground. Should be right up your alley ;) ... just don't think for a second that it is in any way representative of the overall player base of GT7 :D

You are very, very neat and tidy. Your sector 1 looks really hooked up and smooth. Obvious areas to look at are the hairpin exit, you have MT, don't use first, shift straight to 3rd. Tighten the line exiting spoon so you can lay on the gas faster and shift up a gear so no TC needed. Exit of the final chicane, again spam the gears and no TC.

In saying all that I managed to gold with AT and TC2 by basically just driving hard and throwing hr car in aggressively.

@Lightpilgrim I feel you, man. As a relative newcomer to Gran Turismo and sim racing in general, I feel your pain of being so close to the gold time 😂 Remember that you are learning new skills both consciously and subconsciously. When the SF time trial ends, I want you to go back to a track/license or circuit you had found challenging in the past, and drive it again. You’ll notice that you’ve improved more than you think. After spending many intense hours on Eiger and pushing into the gold time, I tried the circuit experience and achieved gold there quite handily which was previously beyond my skill level. My point is, in the thick of it, it’s hard to see how much you’re improving. But then you look back and apply your current skills to a slightly different car/circuit combo, and you’ll amaze yourself! Sorry for the pep talk 😀 Cue training montage with inspirational music.
