Morning folks,

I did have a session in the Vantage this morning, and tried some tips you guys mentioned,

S1 full send :

The times I could stick it I was on the right curb early but....... for my driving style... it comes with a cost... slide....
I can't find the way to take it without a sliding to the right curb....and then the weighttransfer makes it slide over that little hump...
I seem to be faster by eliminating the slide and just lift a tiny bit.

The other one was the righthander after S2 split in 3th, I can't make it work, it's so delicate to get on throttle, and downshifting to 3th seems to unsettle the car on entry a bit, no idea how the fast guys make it work 🤣

No 3xx splits this morning but a lot of 4xx's
But had a little better last sector, altho clearly there is still time on the table in the first sectors , and last corner I wanted to be closer to the curb on the right....

But not to Shaabbbyy
(@Barareklam ....this isn't even top 50 🙈🙈)

Oh come on! How'd you do that?
Thanks that's very helpful.
I don't know what else to tell you. You seem surprised that I was able to do that time. Well, not me. As I said, I'm more comfortable on road cars than on races cars. If you look at all the TTs with road cars, I'm practically always in the top 1000. There are some that I like more than others, that's all. I don't know what else to tell you because for me, that's how it is. Like you, who must be more comfortable on certain cars or certain circuits.

Hmm struggling with the Aston a bit, I should just get gold (current best 55.1 with optimal 54.2) eventually but it will be tough and not by much. The rear snapping under brakes means I am losing time by being too careful, not sure how to balance the car better.
CSA on strong made a world of a difference to me.

Brake in a straight line as much as possible.
Use the overlay method. Dab the throttle a bit as you brake. It stabilizes the car nicely and you will find that balance.

Goodluck!!

I was just testing out some wheel configuration settings while waiting for some coffee, and I thought I’d test on the TT. Not trying much I noticed that my sector 3 time was the fastest I ever had. Then distracted by that I went off completely the next corner.:banghead:

Thinking I was onto something I did a few more laps and took .4s off my prior best.

That was less than perfect as well. I feel there’s another .2 to .3 in me still.

Considering there are some super fast people on my friends board, I’m pretty excited by my current position👍

1 hour session, did a 1.53.676 tonight .
I take back my earlier comments about the cars handling 🤬: yeah its fun to slide around and drift but it always ends up with 1:55:000 + times..
When I start driving properly and try to keep the car and everything under control... man thats not easy:odd:. This car has a mind of its own.
At least I'm a little closer to my sub 1:53:000 goal.
But yeah.. once I get to my goal I'm out ✌️

The overlay works miracles... Got a 1.53.7xx in a short session yesterday. Optimal being 1.53.0xx
I know what i'll be doing this week 🫣

Also gave Brands a new try, but couldn't come near my PB so guess that's staying where it is. Hopefully it stays somewhat the same position as it would be a new personal best ranking. Was hoping for top 1000 but lots of fast people joining in lol :banghead:

Hi,

Brands Hatch. Kart. Hate it. Hate it with a passion. A twitchy, sounds like a sewing machine, death trap in my opinion!!! 😳

I did promise myself that I would get a sub 50 second run then stop as I am just not enjoying this one. Ran this lap earlier this morning. Seems like an appropriate place to stop! You lot are ALL aliens!!! 😁

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

Ohhhh weeeee.

Ohh Nooooo !!!

I really like everything in this replay:

  • the helmet of Jarno Trulli,
  • the Prost GP livery (yes, I had placed a lot of hope in this team) 🥰,
  • and your driving style that I love.

I know that "less is more", in the heat of the moment, I always exaggerate a little too much.

Here, you release earlier for the first right but it’s faster, in Druids, you are of a clinical cleanliness, the rest of the turn is of the same type

I would have to gather my best three sectors to hope to outpace you by 11 thousandths.

18,718 + 13,382 + 16,973 = 49,073... but this .48 aliens @Dan_Tes 🤪 and the others @Stormbreaker @half_sourly @bliprunner @ERAZER @djolliea 💪

And this little kart punishes me and finally I am behind with more than 2 tenths :banghead:

Congratulations as always @NAXEHT

EDIT :

I forgot @Todt you are on fire !!!

Hi guys,

another couple of busy days behind me with no time to drive and no updates here. Only managed an initial session in the Vantage last Thursday, but tbh the car makes it kinda easy for me, as I am decidedly not a fan ;)

It's hypersensitive to the slightest change in steering angle, hard to catch when it gets off-balance (without completely destroying your time), and perhaps the worst part is the practically non-existent engine note. I usually shift "by ear", but that's almost impossible here as the tires and environment noise completely drown out the engine.

Well, it's a safe gold at least at 1:52.957, but I guess that will be it for me.

Have fun and stay safe, everyone. ;)

By following Punisher's ghost I realized I have two major weaknesses in my driving style, with one being that I don't carry enough minimum speed mid corner, and two being that I don't time the acceleration point on corner exit well enough (or more specifically, my car is not rotated enough when I get to the acceleration point, causing me to run wide on corner exit). Using this newfound knowledge, I made some corrections to my driving style and managed a new best of 1:51.423.

Overall I feel like this TT has improved my driving style in general, and this will hopefully carry over to other type of cars as well.

OK, I hate that car : the understeer, the weight transfer, the quiet engine sound, the gearing, the power delivery .. it all feels so bad to drive.. its like trying to get some grumpy ox to the finish line🤬
Still, achieved my goal (the 52's) out of hatred for this car. took me 214 km...

Time for me to join daily C racers at Grand Valley. one of my favourite gran turismo tracks 😎

Happy to have 2 stage progress on the Kart.
1st stage 0.3s after watching WR replay
2nd stage 0.3s after engaging CSA.
(600deg and reduced FFB to 80 on DD pro).

Definitely my personal best 285th.
Hopefully it stays top 500.
OPT shows there is 49.2xx on the table. But that is absolute Limes.

@NicoGmbh There was 1 in 1000 chances to be faster they you ever.
That 0,001 worked for a moment 🤣

BTW funny how often this 0,0001s makes some difference on friends or GTP leaderboards.

@Eliminatorek

1 millisecond faster is faster ! 😅

With @eggmann, i learned with if we could put the lightning in bottle.

Congratulations to you, you see, you regretted having accepted me as a friend, and I am almost certain that you no longer regret it.

In this place, we face each other friendly, we find goals and we experience satisfaction when we achieve them.
