I bet it will be first TT won by AI.
If I had a 6 axis robot at hand I would already be teaching him to motion steer at Oval.

EDT
Wait, I just realized you need 1 axis robot for that.
Wait, that is servo drive actually.
Wait, you could program one DD Control the other DD base :))
EDT Ultimo
Wait. , did PD release this Daytona TT to compare how Sophy could ourrank humans? I bet they did best time with Sophy on it internally.
Why bother, use motion steering, a rubberband and find the right angle 😁

This TT at Daytona has no point other than going around in circles !!!🤮🤮
Even though I have the gold I am in 13,406th place. This is monstrous absurdity !!!! 🤬🤬
I am giving up on this TT and I will return to Watkins Glen to try to improve my 1'52'494 and my 553rd place.
With a steering wheel, I know you are able to do much better.

Try to prepare your quick lap starting from the top of the banking then tangent with the timing line.

Also tries to reduce the strength of the FFB to get as close as possible to the yellow line without touching it.

In your quick lap, cut the yellow line just before the end to grab some time.

You must be able to earn 1 tenth, which will allow you to go far before it is too late 😉

It's nice of you to give me all this advice, but on this TT it will be without me. Have fun.

Good drive and enjoy

Hi,

@KK78...

Ohhhh Good grief... Here we go again... 🤪 OK OK. I will go and get my gloves....

@Homestead... I would love to make that kind of improvement at Daytona! LOL. This afternoon I have managed to progress from a 40:586 to a < drum roll please > 40:585

There is more chance of getting a gallon of poop through a rolling doughnut, than me going back to Daytona to suffer yet more frustration!!!

Happy lapping folks.

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

That works perfect for money grinding.Do not attempt for time grinding. Risk for code Bronze!
It's a joke ;)

Did another test this evening, to see what difference it makes to get a launch lap, and it does, by a good margin !

Went from 65k+ to 13k+ in 2 laps.

Told my son about this TT, although he is a very casual GT player, he even got a penalty by hitting the right wall in his warmup lap, he got gold on his 2nd lap 🤣

Managed a 40.580. Does anyone else feel the first left turn is more difficult than the rest? Car bounces around a bit more? Or maybe I’m losing my mind?
It probably is, although it’s actually the second I find holding the line the hardest.

But that said, really don’t over think or sweat this one. There is very little hanging kudos to be had.

Take the money and run!

Switched back to my main VR account and got improvement. I finally figured out the strategy on how to get a top time at Daytona. (Hint, just going round in the same oval won’t cut it).

So now I’m kind of at the limit of my ability on this one and anything beyond this will be just pure luck.

My optimal is a tease though.

Had another go with the Vantage on my VR account. The first 20 laps or so, I was a disaster. Then it started to come together.

Not as quick as my other Abroad account but getting there. I might be reaching my limit on this one though. Not sure if a 1:52.1x is possible.

OK so whoever is already bored with 2J on Daytona and don't find it challenging enough and looking for something challenging...I have a challenge for you 😉
Sardegna TT Dirt track, Hyundai Genesis Gr. B Rally car. Tuning allowed, put turbo if you want, adjust suspension so car don't bounce like crazy, give it a go.

As for Daytona. It is very interesting how people find this perfect line and are able to keep the speed throughout the lap on a controller. It is my 4th TT and a very unusual one. I can see it requires a completely different skillset…understanding of now you carry the speed, ultra level of precision, feeling tiniest of movements and being able to stabilize the car.

This Daytona Oval TT isn't completely empty calories.

For the first time, I've started to study the laps in my stints, looking at the Optimals and watching the corresponding replays to see what I actually did, then try and compile them in one lap.

I hadn't done that before, and I'll probably start doing it regularly for every TT forward. 🤓
