Fun little combo that. The behemoth levels of power understeer takes some getting used to though.

After 100(.5)km... by the last few laps I was shaving off a few hundthredths a lap, there's still a couple of tenths there as well for when I have a little more time when I'm back from holiday. My optimal is a 1.48.205 if I can nail it....

The hardest part was by far the steady braking into the first hairpin, took me about 50km or so (keeping in mind restarts!) before I could really hit that consistently.

Only 1.5% of players made it into gold for the Lake Louise TT. It feels really good to have gotten it myself and with only about an hour and a half worth of effort. Huge thanks to Tidgney and others for commenting about what worked. I only purchased GT7 a month ago so it feels great to be relatively competitive after such a long break.

Congrats!!! I’m similar to you - been playing a little bit longer, since Dec 2024, and these time trials (and GTplanet community) are a blast. Got bumped out of Gold by Camit in the final days but Im still amazed at how much technique I’ve picked up from the people here… ya’ll doing the Lord’s work I tell ya 😋

Put in a decent 1st session at Deep Forest today, with a 1:49.866…. Would’ve never been possible without practice, guidance and friendly discourse over in these parts 😊

Second stint at Big Willow, with the 4c. Failed close to gold as first time. Last turn and left turn after the hill still mysteries.

Small improvement on best lap, but optimal a bit worse.

Tried DF with the DeLorean too, need to stop driving like a moron, gold may be possible, if I can figure how to take last turn decently.

The last turn is a killer because of the lack of grip where it's been repaved. If you can get the front right tyre up onto the kerb, use that for all the grip you can! You got this mon petit Lommy!

When I do that my car goes on two wheels and if I don't want to end up in the sand, I have to seriously lift.

So ninjas.. after a lot of testing rental vs not rental we realized following... Rims do impact times.

Now listen to this....

If there are rims that make you slower, does not that mean that there must be

RIMS THAT MAKE YOU FASTER

I will just leave it here ... 😮
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial: Stainless Steel Rat

A new Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial is now available, bringing a couple of blasts from the past together for a slippery road car challenge...
Oh my, the DeLorean looks fabulous in purple chrome...

Morning folks, forest morning!

Had a sleightly better run but not into the 47's yet, that's the goal here i think, but that's going to take some time 😂
The first hairpin is such a weird one because exitspeed is mega important there, if you have to lift for some understeer you'll be 2 tenths of on the sector time.., and the right hander after the tunnel gives me frustration 😂😂

But not to shabby for a start!

oh ok ! that's for Deep Forest, ok (I talked about both TTs in my post, and both have a last turn that is difficult to understand for me)
For the last dessert terror turn you can get away with huge amount of coasting, just lift off at the 150 sign on the left, if you are somewhere in the middel of the track you have a nice flow through it, it's a weird corner and you can stay way more on the inside for a longer time than you would expect 😁

Left is the 150 board, next frame i'm lifting of but then the sign is gone 😂
