Furi said no, they can cause lag so they're better off left out. They're okay in test sessions though.

Well it was mostly a sarcastic comment, as I think Furi's not willing to use them in order to keep the competition close...

The Ford's definitely the slowest car off the line. Even if I snatch pole someday, it's not gonna be useful, I assure you. Cape Ring is especially creepy as there's that narrow 1st corner right after the initial acceleration.

You cannot use rolling starts at any other track than Daytona and Indy Oval.

Stewards Group members, please look, reported incident I have bought up is up for discussion.

Thank you. It seems that the times are fairly close( around 1 second apart) which means that the races will be fairly close. I hope to have fixed my network issues and be compeating. See you all on Friday unless there is an earlier test?

You can if it's done manual. WSGTC do it best, look at their procedure.

Manual rolling starts? I get ya now. But rolling starts are really against the spirit of Touring cars though are they not?

It depends. Doesn't WTCC use rolling starts? I wouldn't know because I'm in the US and we don't get WTCC here

They do, but I'm not entirely sure if BTCC do as every time I want to watch it the race has started or it's a support series.

For one race yes. But rolling starts require greater co-ordination obviously. I wouldn't rule them out of future season though.

Rolling starts are boring and only necessary in oval races and massive grids. It would take out the fun if we had rolling starts in low powered cars like these.

One other question: did the original ( real life) TOCA series use rolling starts. If this is the TOCA series only with modern cars we need to follow the real life TOCA start rules. Just a thought.

It's less dangerous at the start.

I think it's to late for a rule change for season 3, however we could use the MRC to test out the format.

Which is why for PS3 they would be more boring. It takes away the fun and is overly complex to organise compared to starting on the grid.

It stops most of the usual first turn nonsense.

I couldn't care about the rolling start to be honest anyways.

BTCC has always used standing starts, this is a BTCC -style series. However come Season 4, I will consider the options.

I'm sort of on both sides:
1. Rolling starts are less dangerous
2. Standing starts test your throttle control and your reaction times
3. Rolling starts would result in a longer braking zone: Cape Ring would be slightly scary with all of the cars piling into the first corner at higher speeds
However, it would defiantly provide more overtaking through corner 1

Furi, I feel that it's your choice. If you want rolling starts for season 4 we can test them during the Friday night test. If you want standing starts we can keep them. Just remember, try to keep close to tue original BTCC rules

Standing starts are staying for this season. 100%. Season 4, we'll look at options.
