And Carb it was agreed from everyone that Paul had the corner and it was your fault for slamming the door. But, he would have been penalised had he actually been off track in the overtaking attempt.
It's a bit of a gray area, since it's quite difficult to determine when there was or wasn't an advantage.
I think a clarification of rules for the future is in order. I would propose that no matter, if an advantage was gained or not, if you left the track with all 4 wheels, you should not try to pass the car in front of you on the straight or into the next corner following immediately after. (unless the car slows down to an unusual speed)
Remark: The "next corner" would be one that you have to brake for. If you cut e.g. Eau Rouge at Spa, and because of it you get into or stay in the draft of the car ahead of you, the next corner is not the right-hand kink, but braking for Les Combes. You should not make a pass there after cutting Eau Rouge, even if it would be easy draft-assisted.

I had no reason to expect him to divebomb in the next corner immediately after making a mistake in which it was his duty to lift off and not gain an advantage. He had no business being there.

That's because I was focusing on you, not someone who shouldn't have been passing immediately after getting 4 wheels off the track. But sure, if you want to claim that pushing people onto the gravel is legal, then I'll act as if it's legal next time we race.
I don't get it. Why do I get -5 points for hitting DJ who was basically being a little bitch from day one, and Paul doesn't even end up losing position after he made a divebomb literally from about 30 meters back at a corner with a gravel trap.
From the OLR:
B:
You must establish substantial overlap with the car ahead before they reach the corner’s turn-in point to have the right to drive up their inside, or to expect them to leave inside room for you. At least the front of your car should be up to the driver’s position in the ahead car. The ahead driver has the right to be fully committed to the racing line of their choice without any interference if there was no substantial overlap before he turned in.
Because provoked or not, deliberately dumping someone in the gravel reduces you to the offenders level, and that was not a divebombs by Paul. I can remind you of why you got a 5pt penalty.

Did you even read the OLR section? It states quite clearly that I have the right to turn in if I want, if the other driver hasn't established sufficient overlap before the corner entry. It's not my duty to give room to a divebomber, and it's the divebomber's duty to let me back through if his stupidity makes me fly into the gravel.
Obviously I guess I have no right to make an opinion as I haven't seen it but do want to add one comment.
How many Touring Car drivers, on here or in real life, give up a position easily by not turning into a corner when they could? . Having been in that position before Id have done what Carb did.
I'll be honest Furi...if I were on the stewards' council (which will never happen until pigs fly), I'd look the other way when it came to Carb ramming DJ.
When GT6 comes out maybe open up the regs a bit so that we could have different cars competing as I know I would build a Honda Integra for the series...
And so it is finally over. 198 races on Gran Turismo 5. 35 winners. 87 points scorers amassing 19963 points between them. 21 cars from 13 manufacturers, with 17 of the 21 taking the chequered flag at least once.
For the controversy, the fights, the battles, everything points to one thing: This was the finest touring car championship on Gran Turismo 5, ever, and i'm proud to have organised it, run it, raced in it along with for the most part a very talented field of drivers.
TOCA is #1. And expect twists and turns galore on Gran Turismo 6. I don't just mean the new challenges of Brands Hatch, Silverstone, or the returning Autumn Ring either. Expect more powerful cars, less grip, more of an emphasis on true cornering than draft. And perhaps... something else that will please you all.
