What do you think of Tokyo Expressway?

I think its the perfect track for the wrong game. I would cry for this in Forza or a game where customizing your car to the point of engine swaps is done. Its for TXR or a street racing game, not a trackday game which is a half baked gran turismo without half of the cars in. Wheres the Supra, Skyline, Civics and the cars that made gran turismo. Either way i love the track but want it in a game where it fits. Such wasted potential.

As a fan of TXR, I like the track but wish to see a more extended version (rainbow bridge to wangan, or somehow connect to the fantasy GT tracks: SS5, SS7, SS11, etc.) and am hoping this track really is just a beta version. I'm not sure why they went with a Day setting but it would be nice if they added in a night version, heck maybe a rain one as well.

This is a horrible track for a game that tries to claim it's a "REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR." This track is nothing but a memory game. Tons of blind corners with markers. How about some rain? Still, any track with blind corners and tight walls, is just a memory game that rewards repeat play... not driving ability. 👎👎👎

Not to mention... it's the most boring track in the history of Gran Turismo!

In Circuit Experience, I have a silver for the final on this track. This doesn't even bother me because I dislike the challenge/track so much, I would be happy completing 99% of the game, and never coming back to this track. That's how much I think this track sucks.

Sounds like Bathurst.

I think loss of resources and time are the clues of Tokyo, especially the lane with the huge straight. They are tedious! Nothing fun and challenging.

It is every decision taken without logic. It was preferable to bring Stage Route 11 or 5, or Monaco, or Rome GT2, or new Rio de Janeiro Streets

Definitely GTS has the worst cast of tracks from across the franchise. This is a true.

Central loop is a disaster, there's barely any room for proper overtakes, the current sport race that happens in it is a breeding ground for dirty racers.

If you want to preserve your ratings, then don't race on this track, or try your hardest to get a pole position on qualify.

The expressway track with the long straight is fine though.

I thought the track would be more fun than it is. It's way too narrow to be fun for racing. The clunking noises that the car tires make hitting seams in the road must be replicating real world sounds that you'd hear if you were driving on the highway but I find it annoying and makes me not want to drive on the track at all.

Honestly, if they did the Sierra Time rally thing (GT6) on there it would be a little more interesting also I'd love to see it at night (Tokyo Xtreme Racer), the roads and building are too dull and grey at day.

Wonder how it would look in HDR.

The night version is very pretty in HDR. Day version is just grey.
The walls are too unforgiving on this track which doesn't improve people's driving behavior. If I take the corner right how come I'm not catching up with someone scraping along the wall on central loop. The long version works better as any little corner exit advantage is golden.

I know what he means though I agree, he didn't word it the best ha

I found all the new made up tracks to be unbelievably unremarkable. Flat corners with little vision and little to set them apart, I swear its taken me twice as long to learn some of these tracks because half the corners, on entry look identical.
This motorway and it's endless pointless configurations are the epitome of this issue.

Least for me, I avoid them at all costs.

I did the central east loop on Sport a couple days ago. It was a blast. The races were very competitive (B/S) and as long as I qualified in the top 6 the races were for the most part clean. The drafting is fun and enforces a dynamic none of the other tracks (besides ovals) offer. If you just practice the course for an hour before going online then the blind corners dont matter at all

On another note, I think the grey has to go. They could make it look so much nicer with a city scape or something.

Would make for a good Tokyo traffic simulator.
Experience Downtown traffic during the evening rush.

This is exactly what I thought of the GT Sport ending movie! "What is this? A video of
common city traffic in Tokyo? What an amazing letdown.
"
This shows why the GT tagline says "driving simulator" and not "racing simulator."
This is a true simulation of what *driving* is like in the real world. Haha :D

From a related perspective, this COD spoof is very funny - the realism is incredible!

Wow. So many people complaining. This game is based on motorsport, catering to thosenwho love racing, and the sportsmanship involved.

Sure, ive had the odd race with people who squeeze you into the wall when you try to pass, or who dont leave you enough room when going side by side in corners, but a majority of the races in the last two days, In the R32 GTR and the GR4 race yesterday, have had some INTENSE races. I absolutely love this track. Nothing feels better than braking at the perfect moment, turning in, getting on the power, and knowing you're inches from that wall, and then stringing a few more corners together and being on a ****ing fast run.
Plus, in the last few weeks, players have learnt how to use their brakes more, and actually wait for a better moment to pass, rather than divebombing and washing you both into the wall, even seen a few regular faces and having a quick acknowledgement, knowing that youre going to have a clean and fast race.

Standard circuit tracks are too easy, like Brands Hatch, so many damn places where you can run wide and still keep it together.

And if you say close, narrow tracks dont belong in Motorsport, how do you figure that Cote D'Azur/Monaco, and Bathurst/ Mt Panorama, which are notoriously tricky circuits, are legendary racetracks that drivers and fans love more than most tracks, and are only ever 2 lanes wide? Hell, Even The Green Hell is one narrow track, and it makes for some awesome racing

If you dont like Tokyo Highway tracks, fine, dont race on them, but dont complain that its too hard or doesnt belong. Put your head down, Get some laps in, and get good.

The twisty section of the East Outer Loop was a pleasure to drive in the Gr.4 race on Xmas Day.
I loved that race, pulling it up on the hairpin after the massive straightaway was one of my favourite parts. That and the fact that renault meganes werent leaving my Huracan for Dust

Flat corners? Try Maggiore. That uphill turn is always interesting!
Little to set the corners apart? Try Maggiore, or Alsace, or Interlagos, or Dragons Trail. So many different types of turns, different speeds, different cambers, differing radii, etc. Just wow.

I cant remember the corners but the new track Alsace, that has two corners that look identical on entry, one you can take flat the other is a 3rd/4th gear corner... a couple of other corners look very similar on that track too...
There is another new track, I forget the name now that the first sector has a flat uphill chicane.. that track has two corners that again, look identical, but you take at very different speeds.

Sorry, I guess I should have added that I don't think that literally every corner is identical...

I actually like the track and there's plenty of room for overtakes... if people played clean. But people are intentionally smashing eachother into walls because it's easy to do and since it's a tunnel, there's not much downside to it. You don't risk going off the track, you just slow down a bit. I played that daily with Skylines and one guy was wall glitching the entire race and if you try to overtake him, he blocks you or smashes you into the wall.
I like putting hotlaps on it, but I won't race on it ever again.

Yeah i had that too, i was first and this guy just came flying fast, rebounding off the walls, set a crazzy lap time, then either stopped or lagged out and the final right hander.

VRR recently did an endurance on this track. It isn't as bad as people think it is. I'd still prefer the actual Tokyo track, though.

Yes I agree many turns look similar on entry, but they are in fact different turns that *must* be approached differently. And if I don't stay aware of my track position, I can nearly stuff the race in a single turn.

Alsace in particular, I know many people don't like it but I love that track. There's the sweeping high-bank turn at the south end of the track, the one with a changing radius, it is such a good section! And that slow hairpin on the west side, I pray to get the entry speed and angle correct, especially going in the clockwise direction (where you approach it at speed through a quick left kink). And the turn after the straight, where the track dips down sharply and puts the turn in a "bowl" of sorts. Great stuff.

Love this track, it's the only track I play on.

Very fun in Lobby too with other players, I would like more tracks like it

SVX
Does not make sense in a game revolving around FIA eSports racing at all.

I understand your point, but there are street cars that are not FIA competition based and they need at least 1 city-city track.

Overall I myself dislike this track and should not be included in Sport mode or only in the street cars daily race at most.

I love 2 (actually 4), very fun and very fast, you need consistency to compete and a lot of precision! It is also difficult to overtake ... To touch the walls and see how you are stuck to them is one of the coolest I've seen

Tokyo R246 plays in another league. The new Tokyo tracks look so empty, boring, ghost city with no life. I've noticed something with GT: years after years, tracks sceneries tend to be less busy.
