Hello, just got back from the Tokyo motor show. Got to try the gran turismo 6 demo at the display . unfortunately Mr. Yamauchi was not there but I got some pretty awesome pics and videos from the demo. I'm using A stupid tablet right now and I don't have the video camera cord with me so I will upload the video and pics when I got back home (I'm in Japan if you didn't already get that)

So I waited in a line for over an hour to get 2 laps of tsukuba in the new jaguar. I spent the whole time trying to smash up a Mercedes CL600 '2000 (standard) in front of me.

I can say that the CL600 looks immaculate, Pd did an exceptional job of cleaning it up, it really looks amazing now! The jaggy window lines, wheel arches and panel gaps\lines have been improved immensely, there are next to no noticeable pixelations in anything. I would of assumed it was a premium if I had not known for a fact that it's a standard.

Unfortunately the passenger and driver seats still have jaggy pixelated appearance, so we can pretty much rule out any sort of decent cockpit view for the standards. And the windows still had that dark tint to them.

Another thing they have improved on is the damage, the damage looks fantastic. There is no more morphed chassis and black scuff marks. I saw actual dents in the panels, paint scratches and broken glass windows. It looks brilliant, again pd have done an astonishing job with overhauling the damage. This combined with permanent damage, oh I can only imagine how awesome this is gonna be.

There was too much background noise to make any judgements on the engines sounds so I'm not going to say anything about that.

I can confirm another song too. its another day / the death set.
I'll be going to the motor show again on Monday, hopefully, being Monday, I won't have to wait an hour to get 2 minutes of gameplay. I'll do some more filming that day.

That damage sounds too good to be true, since Polyphony originally tempered expectations by saying there wouldn't be much improvement in that area.

But I suppose there wouldn't be much point in having permanent damage if the damage sucked, right? If it's good as you say, then I'll probably be re-enacting a certain Lonely Island music video upon recieving my copy of GT6.

Trust me the damage looks amazing, its only light damage but its very detailed.

You are in japan for crying out loud... the country of high quality electronics... go buy one! Or borrow from your new friends there.. ask one of the booth girls...

Do something!!

Thanks ;)

As much as I'd love to, I'm currently more than a few hundred nautical miles away from Japan at the moment. Being able to live in Japan thanks to the Navy is awesome, but all too often we're out at sea when the cool stuff like Tokyo Motor Show is happening.

Anyway... if the OP's claims are legit, surely we'll someone else's footage/screens of it appear on the internet before the OP can share his on the 29th?

the damage got updated ??? didnt see that coming, how about the car sounds ? what difference can you see and feel from the physics in the auto show as oppose to the GT academy demo ?

Mods please fix up any grammar and spelling mistakes, I'm using a tablet and it doesn't have spell check (I rely on that more than I should)

Enjoy the info feast :)
Thanks for that news 👍, how was the racing you had some resistance from those bots or they were walkovers like in GT5?
Jordan already gave us promising reports when he gave it a shot in arcade mode on professional settings, but i really hope this AI with balls is implemented for the whole game :)

In the 2 short laps I had, I can't make any judgements on the physics. And there was too much background noise to notice any improvements in sound

colj00: did you notice new track variations in the selection screen?

Can't remember, I'll go back on monday and get a pic of the map selection screen

@mister dog sorry did not pay attention to the AI, going back to the tms on Monday.
