Havent put this down. Every bit as fun as back in the day, awesome remaster. Safe to say theyll remaster underground due to the success of this.

Trying to chase down the 10 million point combo challenge in a single session ATM, can get ~4M in Marseilles and Roswell in the right places. Progress, I suppose.

I'll give it a look if I can't readily get to the 5M mark with some consistency.

Honestly, I haven't thought about it too much. I'm more focused on getting most of the challenges done (at least, the ones that I know are going to be time consuming like gap checklists and Get Theres) before focusing on the trophies. The grind to Level 100 is real.

That's next on my list. I've currently decided to go for platinum scores even though it's not required for trophies just to see if I can do it.

As soon as the intro video hit I was sold. All I realise now is, modern games offer way too much choice and lack the 'one more go' quick thrill that a game like this provides. As much as I love Horizon 4 and GTA etc, between this and Wreckfest, I feel I yearn for more immediate gaming experiences.

Wonder if we will ever get a modern BMX game in the TH/Mat Hoffman/Dave Mirra mould? I have DM2 on the PS2, but I haven't actually loaded it up since I got it again.

I doubt it.

I know someone remade the Hoffman Bike Factory from the first game, and the Woodward Warehouse from DM1 in the game, which I got a real kick out of (among other levels) but I really doubt we'll get another game like those. If we're lucky, probably an early access Steam game in the vein of Session and Skater XL. Though certainly, I smile in imagining Vicarious Visions' excellent animation work doing justice to the bike flatland they added with Mat Hoffman 2 (and that was already good for the time)

I wouldn't say it's 'hard' (Then again, this is speaking from someone who has played the games for the past twenty years on and off and has been able to reliably curb stomp competition online) but my suggestion for Platinum scores, or any sort of high score run, is to bind special tricks to easily remembered button combos for all tricks. Left + Right + face button and Right + Left + face button for most grind and grab/flip tricks, and then Up + Down + Triangle and likewise for manuals. Bind two each - one that's more high risk, and another quick one that you can spam if it's flip/grab tricks. Really, it's about maximizing the amount of tricks you do so that the combo multiplier builds as high as you can take it.

Getting there.

SNEAK EDIT:

Not at all happy with the combo that got me there, seeing as the game/controller decided to not register one of my wallplant attempts at the end and I had to flatland spam the last few tricks to absolutely make sure I was at the 10 million mark. :ouch:

I was happy to find the OST is available as a playlist on Spotify.

Just a shame I don't have a special meter on the commute to work so the volume goes higher when I perform a string of perfect maneuvers... :D

I came from the future to tell you that the hard Roswell Get There is without question the worst challenge in the game. **** it to high hell, christ.
