This is an all too common occurance with most cars. Some cars spin more than others, fact. Decreasing it won't be easy. For that car, it happens to everyone and there isn't really a way to get rid of it. As long as you are laying down the power and are not bouncing off the limiter, then you are fine. If you are bouncing off the limiter, lengthen the gear you are launching in. If you can't lengthen it anymore, then you made need to re-do your transmission in order to attain a better launch, and sometimes can make your car faster if you hit the powerband just right. Sometimes adding a wing with full downforce can help. This applies to all cars.

The tip of today is....Trial and error. Don't be afraid to try out different methods when tuning. Keep track of what works and what doesn't. If you feel you've hit a wall with a tune don't be afraid to start over. Just be sure to record your set up incase you can't get back to where you were. Sometimes taking a different approach can pay big dividends. There is no one right way to tune. Two people can achieve similar results with vastly different settings. Its up to you to find the method that works best for you and yields the best results. And never give up. That extra tenth you've been chasing could be just an adjustment away. 👍

This man speaks the truth.

Todays tip- Adding downforce. Experiment with adding a wing to your car and using downforce. It can improve your times. It makes most cars ugly, but on the track going fast beats looking good any day! Sometimes you can even do both lol.👍

Todays tip of the day is totally unrelated to drag racing, but invaluable nevertheless. When moving, recruit friends to help whenever possible. It'll save you a load of work, not to mention spare you from alot of pain the next day. 👍

Todays tip is this- Whenever you come across a good drag lobby try to befriend the people there so you can have good people to race with in the future. You can literally spend over an hour looking for a legit room to join. Usually after sifting through the bs rooms you wont even feel like racing anymore. Most on this forum wont mind if you send them a fr to race with them. They are a good bunch. 👍

If you ain't got the nads to buy a car and tune it YOURSELF! then what kind of racer are you? That's the whole point of racing people! Besides, glory comes to those who do it themselves and start small. Not for those who start big. Your just a puss then

When I started...I was SOOOO SLOW. I didn't know how to tune a car at all. Then, I never gave up and started to play with the tunes. I kept on playing with them until I made a Honda Civic tune, which was the one I posted in my garage. Man, from that time onwards, I actually knew what I was doing, and now I can literally make a transmission tune for 1/4 mile for most of the cars in GT5 lol. ahhh those days :)

I'm still working on it. But I got a really good 99 GTS Viper Tune. Its sweet

nice. I have a GTS tune where if you launch in second, it literally launches right at redline, no bouncing but that isn't good considering where the powerband is...but it is pretty good considering that it doesn't have a single mile on it

Rear up, front down. That's where you get your grip

Which brings me to todays tip of the day. Play with your ride height. The typical setting isn't always the best. On rear wheel drive cars a good tenth can be gained from altering your ride height from the min/max setting. Play around with it and test different ways. I can't say whether this holds true for ff's and 4wd's though. But as always- test and tune. 👍

I started as a topgear drag racer. After having done some basic tuning on GT4 for drag racing I had some knowledge of how to get faster. I tried an indy room and got smashed by like 3 cars. I had a look at their cars and I worked out the ride height, I then had the right idea with transmission top speed from test and trial at topgear. After that to understand spring rates, damper and middle range gears I had Matt help me. Since then I have employed the technique change and try.

Haha I remember it well when a young, scared little viper first came up against me.. I think I heard him cry when I thrashed him by that much.... LOL JK
Nahh viper was a good noob.. He asked how he could improve other then just ask for a tune.. Wanted to know what changing the spring rate or dampers did to a car.. That's why I took him under my wing and taught him what I knew 👍 now that I'm leaving GT5 drag racing, I'm glad I could bring myself and a mate up to the status of "pro".. I'm really glad I joined GTP.. Initially it was to get a tune for the B-Spec NASCAR championship and then I saw something that changed my gaming life forever.. DRAG RACING!! and after seeing the big names of Slashfan7469 or whatever your name use to be, DaLighninRacer, Mafia-boy, and kennyblanco I decided that I was goin to start dragging.. So using a few of DLR & Slashfans's base tunes I started my little career in dragging.. After putting a few base tunes on my favorite 10 cars I tool them into split screen to decide which was fastest.. It went 1st was the RS6 Advant 2nd was the LMQ then went my 458 Italia.. Then after I took my 3 cars online and got my ass handed to me.. I kept playing around with the tunes.. I could seriously go on for hours about how I started dragging.. But the moral of the story is if you go asking for tunes you will be fast for 1 week.. But learn to tune and you will be hard to beat for a while.. I never stopped trying to find a faster way of tuning.. I am still learning new things every run I make down SSRX..
