Well, if you hated the first season...too bad. History thinks it did well enough to get a second season.

Top Gear's UK host Jeremy Clarkson says he's pleased about the move.

"Top Gear is our baby so you can understand why Hammond, May and I were anxious about passing it on to the presenters of the US show. We needn't have worried because Top Gear is clearly in safe hands, even if they do insist on speaking in those stupid accents. Watching an episode from series 1 with Richard and James, we found ourselves in a genuinely heated debate about which of the presenters' cars was best. We were just three ordinary chaps watching a car show and loving it, which is exactly what Top Gear should be. Bring on series 2."

I like both versions of Top Gear, and actually prefer this one.

Does anyone know when Season 2 starts by the way?
Well they are supposedly filming now. Similar timing in the spring or same time period next year maybe? Just now having it announced that they

is there any place I can purchase and download the seasons of Top Gear UK, and USA?

I have just discovered the show Top Gear after seeing the track in GT5, and then eventually looking the show up like 5 days ago. Now I'm hooked. I really would like to catch up and see what I've been missing. Is there anywhere I could purchase and download all the episodes from both versions of the show? Or maybe buy them on dvd or blu-ray?

A few seasons of the UK show are available on DVD in the US and can probably be found at Amazon or something. You may need to search to find them. If you have Netflix Series 9-11 are available for streaming from there.

Top Gear USA is available for purchase and download on the PSN Video Store, possibly iTunes, etc. It aired too recently to be available on DVD yet, but as they are making a second season I guess the DVDs are guaranteed, likely this summer.

Why are you in this thread again?

because I realized you'd instantaneously get mad at any post I'd make and post a rude comment. plus, I've always had the little-brother mentality, in that I like angering people just to see their reactions. go ahead and beat up the computer if you feel like it :sly:

Are you trying to wind up here?

Because I'm sure a mod would have no problem putting you there.

Hit up Streetfire.net and do a search for Top Gear. You can find all the episodes of TG US there, as well as many of the UK episodes, especially the newer seasons.

walmart is selling seasons 14 and 15 of the UK top gear I keep seeing it advertised priced pretty cheap too think each is like $15

Indeed looking forward to the new season of Top Gear. Although it's already added to the Finalgear news post that Joey posted, I thought I may as well add in the ad:

To be honest, I love them both. Normally I would be quick to slam those who put down my homeland's version. But let me put it this way: If you want a fair comparison, compare a season of Top Gear USA to the equivalent season of Top Gear UK. That's as apples-to-apples as you're gonna get. And I find the early TG UK episodes far more boring than the early episodes of TG USA. Now I may sounds biased, being an American, but I've only seen two episodes of Top Gear UK Season 1, and I was bored out of my skull by both of them. I'm not trying to be biased, so don't think I am. But just wait until Top Gear USA reaches the total season count that its British counterpart has. I believe it could surpass the original.

Thought US Top gear had more than one season :odd: ,anyway Since we are getting season one here in the Middle east,I do like it alot ,Routledge is entertaining,Adam does his bit and Tanner well is Tanner .

Problem is their challenges started up badly but I do see real progress.

Did any one see the new episode of season 2 ,is it worth downloading.?

Oh and final Note, seems production don't spend alot of money like the UK one ,Top gear Uk's camera work is stupidly beautiful while this isn't even close

The camera work gets better, as do the challenges. It's worth checking out season 2 for sure.

My problem with 90% of last season's challenges is they were, for the most part, taken straight from the UK Top Gear. Which would be fine if they let the presenters do their own thing, but, in the US idiocy, they revealed that both programs are, for the most part, scripted. Except for, the UK version did a better job of creating the illusion that they came up with the stupid ideas. Truth be told, they (with help) probably DID come up with the ideas and then drew straws to see who got which idea. Hopefully, for 2013, they come up with their own ideas. We'll see tomorrow.

Agreed but that started to change come the end of the season,so we can only hope season 2 is better .

I think that it does not even come close to comparing to the british show, and I also think that the first few episodes were a bit cringeworthy, but by time they had settled into it and become more natural the USA show has grown into something I can watch and enjoy.

Comparing it to the UK original is probably a bit unfair, a show that for me is probably the single best thing on TV, still it is a decent car show with an American flavour on Top Gear and worth a watch (atleast if you ignore the first few episodes they did).

You can find just about every Top Gear USA episode on Streetfire. Check there if you want to get a jump on the more current episodes before your area airs them.

Well after watching yesterday's episode, I'm just going to call this show "Auto Challenge Spectacular". Funny thing is I don't mind the presenters, it's just the format that I'm starting to hate. If they would get back to reviewing cars and having some studio segments, then I wouldn't mind as much. But if they continue to have every episode be just another form of the "watch three guys beat up cars with no real purpose", then I'm not even going to recognize it as a part of the Top Gear family.

I like the challenges better because much of the studio stuff wasn't that great. History is probably just going on what got the best response from viewers. I did like it last season where they would get to drive some new, exciting car if they won the challenge and I hope they bring that back.

The first episode was kind of weak I thought but I'm hoping the season gets better because Top Gear UK was off to a bad start too.

Oh and I really want to see Tanner drive the SVT Raptor around the Ring!

Am I one of a few who finds this one more funny than the UK one? Don't get me wrong they're both funny as hell but the USA Top Gear just does the stupidest stuff ever & that makes it the funniest car show ever.

This thread died, but how are you finding the new season gents? and episodes worth downloading?

I've watched all of this season so far and have to say its pretty consistently good. This week's episode was a bit weak, but it is by far the exception. Now that they have dropped the agonisingly awkward Big Star, Small Car segment and just concentrated on having a "cheap car challenge" every week, its much much better.

The track for USTG is just terrible! The show is getting better with age.
