This thread is about as pointless as every other "what if" GT5 thread... but here goes.

I hope GT5 has touge runs. That would be ultimate... there is a chance they will exist in GT5 as its a Japanese sport...

Anyone else reckon this would be the coolest feature of GT5?

It definitely would be cool, but we already have a track in GT5P called Eiger Nordwand which is pretty much a touge track. Also since there are going to be WRC stages in GT5, some of them could be tarmac which means we could run touges on them??

There will be a-to-b racing in GT. I remeber driving great pikes peak in previous games. As BMI has become so popular and is even available in in-game video store, touge track will most certainly be in GT.

Even though you know it's pointless you still post it. Your idea may be a valid one, but why couldn't you have posted it here:-

Things you would like to see in GT5 other than cars.

Rather than starting, as you put it, a pointless thread.

There is not a single piece of evidence that would sustain your claim that point to point racing will be in GT5. As a matter of fact, I will come right out now and say "there won't be any". Now, who's right?

By the way, the reason I believe so is, that it takes too much work to put together a decent number of stages in premium GT5 quality for one single run-through at a time. Keep in mind how long these stages have to be...1 stage would equal at least one circuit in length, if not more. For one single rally, you would need a couple of those stages. And who would be satisfied with 1 rally only?!? I just don't see PD wasting their energy on that. We'll probably get about 100 circuits (incl. variations), and that's it.

Something similar is true for NASCAR. I suspect there will be a handful of ovals, but nowhere near the full array of tracks used in NASCAR.

Hey ASH32, have you thought about becoming a police officer? Since you do such a good job with your detective work.

Almost every thread in this forum is "what if", if we followed your rules there would be no new threads because the info on GT5 is so limited.

If you dont like it, dont post. Its simple.

Why do you need a new thread though, when one that is perfect for this is already there. You are supposed to search for threads already there before you start a new one. I know there are a lot of other "what if" threads, but just because others post pointless threads doesn't mean you should. No new threads would certainly be better than 10 to 20 new rubbish/pointless ones don't you think. :sly: I was only trying to encourage sensible behaviour, there was no need to take that tone.

Touge racing in GT5? not likely, although I have a feeling there could be Drift events that resemble Formula D and D1 Grand Prix.

I just hope the Gunsai Track will be in.. as its a superb long narrow track and Hot Version do theyre touge on it.... that would be my dream, Gunsai!

I would like touge events, and I do think it will be possible to do just that. Maybe on tracks like eiger that we already have, I remember being able to adjust starting position's in previous GT's on 2 Player as in someone starts behind x meters, I seriously hope that setting is available on private rooms along with how many people can join and you got yourself some touge.

how could they not have touge??? its one of the most intense PtP racing i have seen, i was just day dreaming abt takin the Mines R34 vs GT Evo8 down a huge hill in total darkness.

Point to point tracks would be fantastic and a few long winding mountain roads would be much fun.

I'm sure that there is plenty 99% of us don;t know regarding gt5, but considering the leap that each evolution of GT has taken, it's not inconcievable to have at least a few point to point tracks in Gt5. time will tell..

Well, it's certainly true that a good touge run would take a while to build, but even one would be a heck of a lot of fun! Enthusia only has one, but it's probably my favorite track in the whole game. One thing Enthusia did to make their job a little easier is to just make it a top-to-bottom race on a mountain, so they could put all their energy into length of track. And I certainly wouldn't mind that solution for GT5 either.

Also, if they're clever they could get quite a few variants out of a single track. Uphill, downhill, day, night, and wet, dry (plus maybe even snowy, lol).
