Jesus, so many people whining that it isn't available for them because of whatever reason. Ultimately the survey was open GLOBALLY for 2 months, if you missed out then you missed out.

I missed out on the Edge Camaro from previous GT because it was only released in the US - I don't recall seeing half as many people whinging and whining about it as this, when in my opinion they had much more reason to as it required a real life, real money purchase, whereas this was literally FREE and available to EVERYONE if they had their head screwed on at the time.

And indeed it did. It arrived in v1.50 on November 28, available only to the AI. Then it apparently unlocked for eligible players on December 16 without a specific update.

It very much did not:
If you’re not one of the 100,000 people who completed the survey, you’ve missed out, as you cannot purchase the car in the game. For those that did complete the survey, you should find the Supra appearing in your game automatically as of today.

It’s a rather curious approach. Thus far Polyphony Digital has avoided splitting the player base up, but the Supra is now the second car in a month that’s not available to all players. However it seems likely that a regular Gr.4 model of the Supra — with identical specifications but a proper race car interior — will follow along in due course so that other players are not at a competitive disadvantage in online events.

TY fpr the response Famine :) Yeah, it did grow into that, in other groups, or at least one that most people would probably think of as a major GT sport group and reliable source of info on the game given that it's part of a big social media thing. . Or at least *I thought it was a reliable source., given that it's part of a big social media thing. Sorry I didn't mention that it wasn't specific to this group.

Not trying to offend. Just trying to sort through it all and try to find out if I will actually be able to buy this car. And yeah, as I said, I knew about the survey and tried repeatedly to access it and had login issues that I couldn't get help with because the link for password help wasn't working. Rather than 'whine', I took people at their word that it was coming along shortly to buy. Not you people. Not you. Just people.

And yeah, if you happen to be the one that wrote that article, or know them, I do think someone who passed along the idea that it was coming along to buy probably took the hopeful guessing in that article the wrong way. I think that because I saw this site referenced in other topics when another user asked bout something they believed was going to be part of a patch but wasn't

I'll live :) Gonna go grab a GR. 4 viper and enjoy Laguna. Heh, maybe I'll try to duplicate the special supra livery on the SRT :cheers:
 
If it makes anyone feel better:

The Supra doesn't seem to be this OP Rocket that people anticipated. I haven't tested this personally, but it seems like the 86 is better than it in some areas.

I assumed there would be a purchasable version of this car for the reasons mentioned in the article: this is the first real instance of splitting up the player base. It would be weird to add a Gr.4 car that can't be used in the FIAs, especially one from a sponsored manufacturer (the Bugatti seems to be a different circumstance), so I would guess there will be a universally available version of the car eventually.
 
The Supra has the highest stock torque figure of all the Gr.4 car(sat 59.9kgfm). I'm sure that's the reasoning. It's just been dialed down slightly below the OyVeyron.

Does anybody know what each Bop value has been before this update? In the official site list are only the actual values, which doesn't help anything if you dont know what has been before

Because edge Camaro was just a skin. Gr.4 Gr Supra is not just a skin. Its a different car from other gr.4 cars with different handling and performance.

The car should be available for everyone imho. Just saying.

It wasnt. People who didnt have psn account wouldnt able participate to that survey. It means if you are new to Psn forget Gr.4 Supra.

Is this what you want? New comers should be at a disadvantage?

Not having the car itself means less option to choose=Disadvantage especially when Gr.4 Supra is a great car.

Also i dont understand the logic behind "I have completed the survey, people who dont should never get car" idea. All we did was survey it didnt involved with skill.

Does competitivity mean anything to you? Pd must release a Gr.4 Supra in the brand central ASAP. I dont care its livery all we need is a Gr.4 Supra that everyone can buy from brand central.

Exclusivity of cars is a concept used in a game that I used to play but don't any more, in no small part due to the game's use of that concept. It is a concept that has no place in any serious e-sport game.

The only things that make it not that much of a problem are:
a) the car just isn't that good, which is probably intentional, though it might be okay for daily races without fuel use or tyre wear
b) all anyone who doesn't have it has to do IF a race comes up where it seems like the best car for it is not do that race

However, I don't like to dismiss these things just because in some particular case they don't cause all that much of a problem, because you end up with a slippery slope of the concept growing and causing more and more of a problem. So while the problems caused by it in this particular case are minor, I still object to the concept being in GTS at all, I see it as an extremely negative thing.

The part that it seems most of you guys are forgetting is that the car itself will most likely not be exclusive forever.

It may only be an exclusive for this month and most likely the only thing that will be exclusive for it will be the livery.

If anybody honestly believes the car will be exclusive indefinitely then you either haven't been playing Gran Turismo games very long(which is forgiveable) or you are an idiot.
 
I don't know about that. We'll have to wait and see how it does in a proper Sport Mode race. I see many Gr.4 races that don't always work out for the META anyway. Driver skill, who players race against and many times unfortunate events, vary results.

Anyway, there are plenty exclusive cars in the game, for people that don't have as much time as others. Examples in Famine's post.

This prize was like any other real word survey. Some partake, some don't. Some are unaware, some procrastinate. I've said multiple times, I can't see PD not bringing the official GT4 to GT Sport. That car, is too big of a deal, for Toyota GR, not to be in this game at some point.

This reminds me of when I worked for an eCommerce company:

We would launch a promo code, people would use them, and everything seemed fine. I even created and QA'd some of these codes myself.

But the moment that promo code expired, we'd get a bunch of emails with people complaining it didn't work, without providing any real detail as to what went wrong. Seems like the same thing here.
