Until they get these 'sporty' Hybrids on sale at reasonable prices they don't interest me. Take the CR-Z for example, starts from around £20K for example in the UK. That price seems like a joke to me, you can get cars that drive better, look better, are more economic or all three for the same or even less than that.

To be fair to the CR-Z, it was about £3k cheaper than that when they introduced it, but it inexplicably got more expensive when they last refreshed it and gave it more power. Maybe fluctuations in the Yen or something.

Looks are subjective obviously - I think the CR-Z looks brilliant. And as for driving better or being more economical I've not had a go in anything that does both better yet.

Nothing diesel that's for sure (I still find "diesel" far more of an issue for driving fun than "automatic") which are the only vehicles realistically capable of beating the 50 mpg I got in a week with the CR-Z.

New Hybrid-R concept won't showcase a new Supra. :(

I guess we'll just have to continue speculating.

Even that it's not the design of the Supra, it could be showing the drivetrain of the Supra. They said that the concept "brings Toyota Hybrid System-Racing technology to the road" and that the concept could just be a precursor to the hybrid system will be using.

When was the Supra confirmed for production? Just wondering. 👍

It was back in November- HERE

True. I was expecting a wild coupe. That probably sheds a bit of light on the matter.

Also, why isn't there a thread for Detroit in general? It a day away.

Less aggressive front end than Toyota's other recent concept coupes. I don't think it matches up too well with the rest of the car however, which otherwise looks great. The rear lip spoiler fits the design well enough even if it appears bloated from certain angles, but the rear itself isn't bad at all.

It does look more than a little C7-esque from the side, though that's accentuated by the black A-pillars and rims. And with that comparison in mind, I reckon the door line looks slightly better when it's more level on the FT-1 rather than at an angle on the C7.

I quite like the design, mainly from the rear. Something about the front I'm not too sure about... Might be my distaste towards cars with pointy noses, like the SLR McLaren. (Still like the SLR though, just not a fan of the nose) Can only wonder what the specs are on it.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that nose was the Tajima E-Runner.

With the front lip, it looks more like the LaFerrari from the front.
